Just had lunch & would drive the 40 minutes again. The regular size cod fish portion was a large, crispy, fresh, piece with homemade chips (french fries), coleslaw with a tasty non mayonnaise dressing, and a slice of their homemade soda bread, all served at our table, a short time after we ordered at the bar.

True Irish Pub - down to the live music. Very enjoyable - stop in for a Pint - quite homey and friendly. Walking distance to the Wyvern Hotel (where I would suggest you stay).

After visiting our grand babies in Estero we flew out of Punta Gorda and had a wee bit o time for lunch before the flight (note the Irish inflection). We really enjoyed the Celtic Ray. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. My wife had the fish and chips and I the Shepard's Pie. Both were excellent. They also have... More

One word describes this place "authentic". This place is the real deal. If you want and like Irish pubs, your at the right place. Great bear and atmosphere asking with Irish Pub food. We sat outside and had a nice conversation (it isn't loud inside either). I really enjoyed my night our here. I recommend the tandoori dinner and bread.

A friendly place that serves excellent food. Fish and chips with mushy peas was excellent. The scotch egg was the best ever.

This place is crowded and with good cause. The food is fabulous. The service is friendly. The cocktails are mixed by bartenders who know what they are doing. One usually counts on an older bartender to know the ins and outs of a good martini. We watched a young lady preparing a martini, and she did it right!

We used to go there several times a month for the Fish & Chips, The fish is always wonderful but a little pricy. We stopped going after Owner Kevin changed his wonderful fries to thick mushy steak fries.

Nice location. Strange that you order food at bar and pay for it and then they deliver to your table. The food was great, we had the fish frys. I just wish I knew where they get their bread; most incredible I've ever had. Neat decor in the building, we ate upstairs.

Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about the pub. With that being said, you order everything at the bar just like you would at a... More

Great place! Has an amazing atmosphere. Downside: small inside and very loud when the live band is there, gets very cozy when busy. The fish and Chips were on spot! Can't wait to go back!

Description
FAILTE! [WELCOME!]

The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide!
See you at the Ray, Slainte!
