We heard the fish and chips were wonderful - well maybe to some they are. We thought the portions were rather small for the price ($11) and not especially tasty. All you can eat fish and chips North on RT 17 are better and for less $. Here you order at the bar but they do deliver the food to... More

Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about the pub. We see you said "It is a bar", but a bar it is not. We are a traditional Irish pub. Everything you order {including drinks and food} is ordered at the bar. Our kitchen staff will bring food out to you, but you pick... More

My favorite place to decompress after work. Great place to get a pint, fish and chips, and just be you. Amazing time every time. Thank you for being.

Even though there was a terrible odor through the whole bar we did try some of the food. I had beef stuffed cabbage and it was tasty. They had a few beers there that other bars in the area didn't have on tap. Not sure exactly why it smelled so bad in there but none of the regular patrons seemed... More

Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your business and your honest review and we agree that the pub has had a terrible odor recently. We have taken care of it a few times and it seems to be just a part of owning such an old historical building. But as of... More

The Celtic Ray Public House is exactly what it sounds like, an Irish Pub with excellent food. As is standard in Irish Pubs, you place your order at the bar and it is brought to you. The Fish & Chips are cooked to order, the fries are fresh potatoes and it is served hot and delicious. Get your favorite beverage... More

While visiting my brother and his family in Punta Gorda he suggested The Celtic Ray Public House which has become his family favorite. We walked in with a party of eight- and the staff quickly placed two tables together for us and the fun began. Wonderful Irish Pub atmosphere for catching up with family and friends- but that is not... More

This is an Irish pub with True Irish fare. Stopped in for a quick lunch at fish and chips and a Guinness. The fish was perfectly done with a light crispy breading. It was excellent with a fresh slaw and crispy chips Price reasonable $20 Service excellent I would not hesitate to return

Best fish n chips outside the UK. Not over fried or mushy. The menu contains several food items served in Ireland. The ales are great too! Also, there is often entertainment on the weekend.

This place is awesome. I highly recommend heading up to the second floor and checking it out. A lot of people don't realize it's open and there is a separate bar upstairs. Also, make sure you walk up to the bar to order your food. This is an Irish pub and therefore operates a little different than what Americans are... More

Description
FAILTE! [WELCOME!]

The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide!
See you at the Ray, Slainte!
