Nice atmosphere and good food

Stopped in for a late lunch. Had a burger, wife had Caesar with chicken salad on top. The burger wasn't normal shape, instead it was a long ovoid placed on a toasted sub roll. Still tasted like a burger! I'm a fan of their fries, came without salt so I could season to my taste. Wife enjoyed her salad, not much more I can say about since I didn't have any.

Exceptional food and service!

What an exceptional place! The service was amazing and the food matched the service. When we arrived they accommodated our large family and then brought a set of extra fries out early for the kids to munch on while we waited for food. When the food arrived it was phenomenal. This was the best restaurant we ate at while on our trip to Port St. Joe.

Always great food

This is our favorite place to get pasta when we are down in the Port St. Joe/Mexico Beach area. They have half-portions, which is great for my wife and kids that don't always eat a full plate there. I always get the Shrimp Carbonara, and the shrimp are always thick. When we are down there, we always go to eat dinner at 5 p.m. to try and beat the rush.

Chaos is how we felt when seated at the bar

Chaos is how we felt when we were seated at the bar. We didn’t mind waiting for someone to,take our drink order as we were told they were short a bartender. They did not even have a bartender! Each server had to make their own drinks with some looking up how to make specific drinks. One server actually put glasses into the ice bin rather than filling the glasses with the provided scoop. A disaster waiting to happen. The evening went downhill from there. I ordered a watermelon martini as the young man behind the bar when we sat down had just made one and it looked cool and refreshing and pink. I was served one that was clear. I questioned the server and she had to ask what made it pink. She forgot the watermelon liquor that went into it. My husband ordered an old fashioned. She made it in the same shaker, never have we had a shaken old fashioned, and it was cloudy and had a strange taste due to not cleaning the shaker. We ordered the bruschetta and it was delivered with the bread soaked in balsamic. The meals we ordered had over cooked scallops and dry over cooked fish in them. With the chaos behind the bar with everyone trying to make drinks at the same time it made for an uncomfortable evening. I understand that there is a workforce shortage but take one person off tables to make drinks for all and seat a few less tables. After speaking with a manager, we were comped our meal. After hearing such wonderful things about this restaurant we were disappointed.

Enjoyed!

Had a very nice meal with my family last night. They didn’t take reservations which was a bit of a concern, but we got a table for 5 in no more than 15 minutes. Mussels appetizer was very good, small wine selection but we got a good one, and all of us enjoyed our meal. I had the Angel Hair Ahi which was very tasty. Not all places in Port St Joe reopened after Hurricane Michael and if you want something a bit upscale, Provisions is a great choice.

Decent place for a good meal in downtown PSJ

We came here for out last meal of vacation to celebrate a great week. We did make a reservation, which was great since the place was crowded. We sat inside and it was very chilly - glad I brought along a jacket! Our friend who'd visited before recommended the snapper piccata so 3 of us ordered that, and the other two ordered the filet. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I really enjoyed the snapper, especially since I have never tried snapper before, but all of the other items on the plate were cold. The broccoli, zucchini, and pasta must have sat on the plate in the warming window waiting for the snapper (which was the perfect temperature!) I have to say that the two people with filet raved about their steaks, and the bite I tried was delicious. Our server was sweet and helpful.

Get the bruschetta. Seriously. It is TO DIE FOR. …Now that we got the most important part of my review over, here’s the more detailed version. The first night we had the bruschetta, and devoured it in about three minutes because it was soooo flavorful. I also had a Thai pasta dish with cabbage (very good), hubby had the snapper piccata (excellent), and daughter had a Mack-and-cheese pasta dish (she liked it). Prices are very reasonable, and I appreciate that they offer a “petite” version of many entrees. It was so delicious that we came back the next night to have bruschetta again! It was just as good the second time. We also had a basil bow tie pasta dish with chicken and pecans, which was good. Our server, Carie(?), was very good. If we lived close by, we would come here all the time!

Great Spot in Downtown Port St. Joe!

If you’re staying on the forgotten coast make sure you give Provisions a try. We tried several different entrees and all were great! My favorite thing was they offer two sizes for many of their dishes and the petite size is the perfect amount to enjoy an appetizer, entree and dessert without being stuffed by the end. They also have happy hour with half price appetizers who can pass that up!!!!

We ate there yesterday. We’ve been going there for ten years but last night was well below par. Either the waitress or the kitchen completely forgot my wife’s order. There were several of us and when the food was brought everyone but my wife had dinner. The waitress didn’t even mention it - she Just took off and it took five minutes to get her back to the table and ask about the order. She made no acknowledgement whatsoever and left. When we finally got her back to the table and asked she again left without a word, again. Finally my wife got her dinner but is was not good - it had obviously been prepared in a hurry. I had the paella and one of the mussels had not opened. Yes, it was only one mussel but shellfish is NEVER served if it does not open during cooking. That should have been noticed. One other dish at the table was below par. I could have understood if the restaurant was busy but we got there at opening time and were the first group in. The place did not get busy for another hour so it wasn’t like they were swamped. Hopefully they will get their act together.

Our food was excellent- the shrimp scampi and spaghetti were exceptionally tasty. The location and restaurant layout were nice. However the service was spotty and since we were paying for the meal for friends and ourselves, we felt that the waiter should have paid some attention to us however he completely ignored us. It spoiled the pleasant feeling we had. Too bad.

Fine food, great service

The food options here for lunch and dinner are excellent. We stopped for a late lunch: fish tacos were tasty; the chicken salad on a croissant was subtly spiced with a nice side salad; unsweetened and sugary ice tea were options as well as an array of drink choices. Out waitress was affable and on-the-spot but not intrusive and a load of information about touring options along the coast. Two days later we were there for dinner: the bouillabaisse was outstanding!

Great Place!

On a Spring Break week day dinner, with all Port St Joe restaurants packed, Provisions did a great job. Bar was quick to serve a drink to wait outside. And wait wasn’t too long. Server was attentive and helpful with choices. Appetizers came out quickly. The marinara with goat cheese was delicious. The Cajun Snapper was excellent. All food was cooked well. Meals were served quickly for the large crowds. Chocolate cake was a crowd pleaser

What a disappointment..

Provisions was one of our favorite places to dine 3 years ago when we last visited Port St. Joe, so this visit was quite the contrast. Unfriendly service complete with horrible food. We could not finish the lunch served and just left.

Valentines Day Disaster

Valentines dinner disaster! We had a reservation for dinner on Valentines day at 6pm. I ordered the fillet with seasonal roasted vegetables and potatoes. When my dinner came there was a slice of summer squash and a slice of zucchini and two broccoli florets and frech fries. I had overheard a waiter tell another guest that they had ran out of potatoes and were subsituting frech fries. Our waitress never said anything to me until I asked and after I was done offered me a salad as a substitute to take home. Bad waitress! The fillet was mediocre

Delicious Dinner

We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner here. Everything we tried was delicious! From Mahi tacos, to skirt steak, to chicken with Brie sandwich, I highly recommend. Great service and great food!
