Went last week, Thursday to what HAD been 1 of our top favorite dependable spots to enjoy. Tried to b tolerant of wait times staffing and Covid restrictions affecting our experiences. But 5 days later I feel compelled to inform this encounter.
Arr.@630pm wasn't busy...but soon started filling up. Slower than normal service for drink orders but 2020 is enough reason for patience. Server seemed to have a lot of 6 party tables in our area.
Food came and a 2nd drink ordered which never came till meal was more than 3/4 consumed. Would have liked to have conversation w/ server as "shrimp and grits came with no visible grits" much later explained it was a "grits cake"
Menu never described this and picture does NOT show this, BTW.
Here's where it went south.
Check dropped off (had given cc to server to swipe when 2nd bev. Delivered so we didnt have to wait any longer)
Upon glancing at total to decide til, noticed that bill was NOT ours!
Stayed seated hoping serving might swing by to inquire..night such luck. I go to serving station to adm 4 our server to help get our corrrect check.
Very matter of fact, the 2 servers in area said yeah the other table paid urs and had no problem so u pay theirs and " see how we took $3 off to balance difference?"
Seriously how would I know what my checks total was?
Thetre was no offer to show me my correct bill. I had to ask several times. No explanation on how they came up with this solution and No apology for the mix up.
I went back to table filled out tip portion (gave 18%) on a bill that wasn't mine🤔)
On walking out decided to ask mgr if this was way this eerie is usually handled. She said yes. I asked her, even without informing customer and offering apology. She said I'm offering u both that NOW.
Gee we were nearly @the hostess stand.
I asked better communication by both server and mgmt would have gone a long way to service recovery?? Dont u think?
She said yes but offered not even a follow up apology for our understanding of this practice.
Too bad, a little extra effort might have saved our loyalty.
Not coming back and telling all about our cc mix up exp.
We have also alerted CHASE about this practice and they r investigating it, too.
Not ever a good time to mix up credit cards!
