I have been a frequenter of Lou’s for years. The two things so important about the neighborhood please is the quality of the food and the attitude of the staff. Even during this crisis that we are all dealing with every time I have walked...in nothing but smiles and a positive attitude. The salads are great and so are the subs, piled high with great quality meats. I’ve also enjoyed the crab salad before but this time it was ham capicola and cheese salad with all the fixings. There choice of peppers to put on subs and salads is great tooMore

On yesterday 3/24/20 me and a group of co workers decided to place an order for subs during our lunch hr to continue to support local businesses during the pandemic as we have been doing throughout the week. I placed our order around noon picked...it up about 1:30pm. Person who took the order told me about 30 minutes for the order to be ready I said not to worry we are in no hurry. When I placed the order I explained that this would be a large order all separately he placed me on a short hold and returned to the phone. I had already took the time to write out each person order individually to ensure that everyone’s order would be correct once received that did not happen at all. At the end of the phone conversation the person who took the order could not give me the price of each order separately. Instead said I’ll call you back with your total. Sounds cool yeah that’s just the beginning. He did indeed call me back with my total still not separate but ensured me it would be separated once I picked the order up. Again I did not worry until I picked up the order that was waiting at the counter for me. Out of the 14 orders at least 10 was not correct. After I paid with my credit card for all orders because again it was not separated as they told me it would be once I came in to pick up the orders because they could not figure it out over the phone. Wings and things did just yesterday and was able to repeat all orders back to me. At least they were ready!! I spent close to $150 dollars on subs and as I was attempting to double check the orders I was asked to move out the way while the cashier continued to cash out other customers. I politely asked where is the receipt with all sub prices separately so that I can collect payment from my coworkers. Which will now be owed to me once I get back to my job because I paid for the total order with my card. No reply no acknowledgement she didn’t even look up at me a moment later she prints another receipt with the in-correct orders along with the prices separated. As I look in the box several subs are without labels again we ordered 14 subs I politely asked how am I suppose to know which sub is which she then says all subs are labeled annoyed as she continues to help other customers. I then leave the business and thank them on my out the door. I get back to my job and almost every sub was in correct. I had to put on gloves and pick through the subs to determine which was which because they were not labeled. Sometimes the support of the community is just not enough for business. This was unprofessional they were not prepared for large takeout orders. I will not spend another dime at lous and have encouraged my co-workers and family to do the same. Shame on you all!! I am going to write a review on every site I find to ensure that management which I’m sure is all family fix this so that this does not happen again. You all have lost a loyal customer.More

I went to Lou s in the past and the Italian was okay. Today i got the steak sub and i was so disappointed. The fruit punch was too sweet... too much sugar. I feel like that i just waisted my money today

They should have a "If You Can Finish the Paul Bunyan, It's Free" promotion. They don't have a sub called that, but if you get all of the fixin's, even the burliest truck driver might be occupied for at least two sittings. Get a foot...long anything---half for lunch and half for dinner or tomorrow's lunch to get more bang for your buck. Same as any place, sure if you add chips and a drink, it'll cost you a couple more ducats, but at least the sodas and iced tea are self-serve, which a lot of folks prefer anyway. It's not the fanciest place in Broward county, but you're on Dixie Highway! Besides, some of us like it just like that: just keep the product fresh and the theme intact. Lots of campy 70s and 80s fishing/racing/license tag memorabilia adorn the snug blue quarters. If it's not too hot out, they've redone the deck outside with two tables (and a handicapped pull-up) where you might catch a glimpse of the blimp either taking off or landing. The staff does the best it can, but we've been going for years and at most a couple of tables might need the crumbs wiped off, but some of that might have to do with timing. Big deal, just pick another table. I'm sure it does get busy at peak time, but that also means folks know where to go for the best sub. There's only one other place that competes with Lou's and it's the famous Florida grocery chain. Lou's subs just have more "umph" and personality, 'sall. Plus, you somehow feel good in supporting such a local place that's been around for decades. It's very much a come-as-you-are neighborhood kinda joint, so if you're a Las Olas blueblood, don't bother. But that's what gives it character. Pull up a chair and try it...if it's not for you, so be it, but you can't deny the freshness of the product and they definitely don't skimp on portions. I'm still full on a Monday from Sunday's sub, haha!More

Let me just say that within 6 miles of this is: restaurants/deli's that make sandwiches with more meat, and better prices. But for the location and area they probably have it beat. I went yesterday as I was hungry and between appointments and it was...after the big 12. So yes I did enter into a restaurant that could use a little upgrading but I came to eat not a museum. However there are plenty of pictures, hanging taxidermed fish, which are to keep a persons attention longer than the meal. I ordered the Turkey on wheat when my turn arrived in the line. I began to tell her what I wanted on it and she looked up and said "later" looking to her left. She freshly cut the bread, and ran the turkey thru the slicing machine. and passed it left. I asked cashier for small soda and chips deal($2.49), sandwich $7.49 and grabbed a second chip. (drinks are refillable by yourself.) The total was $12.05. It was excellent, It was Fresh. It was Delicious. But for $12 you can have lunch at a sit down restaurant with full service in Pompano Beach. This is totally self-service. The counters and tables were still quite messy from the original lunch crowd, drinks spilled all around drink counter, and trays left by fountain machine. The kitchen service staff was too busy to staff dining room also. If you are in the neighborhood and want a great sandwich this is probably the place, but do not look forward to a dollar menu.More

My family and I have been patrons of Lou's Subs since the 80's. This place has yet to disappoint. Today's visit was superb as always. Listen people this not your average sub shop, seriously. I even tried the lobster soup, amazing and favorful. Good food...and great service what else could you want for?More

Been coming here for years and have always been pleased with the visits. Before I moved to the area we would come here between dives while our tanks were being filled and were ALWAYS pleased with our visit. Now that I live here I frequent...more often. It gets a little crowded during lunch rush but they are good at getting you in/out. Its a laid back atmosphere. Decor is fish/boating pics dating back...which are fun to look at...nautical feel to it. Gets noisy but well worth it. Relaxed atmosphere.More
