To get to Rum Bay restaurant you pay $6 for a 15 minute water taxi ride to Palm Island in a high prowed boat so you really don't see too much unless you stand up. And know that the only reason you are "allowed" on Palm Island is so you can spend your money at Rum Bay restaurant. You get... More

I was invited to take this trip to Rum Bay Restaurant on Palm Island. You park at Johnny Leverock's Seafood restaurant and take a water taxi over to Palm Island to the Rum Bay restaurant. Cost is only $6 round trip. You get to the dock and walk up a boardwalk to the restaurant and there is nothing inviting about... More

We are staying down island in Don Pedro Colony. The beach and accommodations are great. We had guests come to visit and decided rather than grilling we would spend more time at the beach and pool and then go to dinner. We felt we had gotten lucky when one of the outside tables came free. The Palm Treetop setting promised... More

There was a good selection for being a captive restaurant on the island. There were four of us which each ordered differently. Some of the food was good and respectful but one member got the Mahi Tacos which came out cold and obviously right from the fridge. They were previously cooked and was still cold. When the waitress did come... More

The wine list is truly terrible, but overpriced. I don't mind $10 for a good glass of wine, but not for the crap they serve here. The bread served before dinner was a long sandwich roll, lightly heated. The grouper wasn't bad, and the pompano was actually quite good. But, the pompano was supposed to come with a chimmichurri sauce.... More

Went here for lunch the other day. You must take a water taxi ride to get here ($6 pp roundtrip) for about a 10 minute ride to Palm Island where the restaurant is located. It was a very pleasant trip. You then walk along a boardwalk to the restaurant. They have a varied menu with choices for everyone. we both... More

This restaurant is located on Palm Island off the Intercoastal Waterway. You have to take a $6 roundtrip water taxi from Placida. It is well worth the trip. Good variety of food including lots of fish and shrimp dishes plus racks of ribs and steak. Danielle was an excellent waitress. The return boat trip under a star filled sky was... More

Went to dinner with our daughter's family, only one entrée (salmon) was judged okay. Fish tacos, shrimp tacos, mahi, lobster bisque were very disappointing. Maybe we just didn't pick the best choices. Despite the poor food, all of the employees, from the boat taxi, to host/hostess, waitress were extremely service oriented and very courteous. We wish the food would have... More
