I'm from the Boston area and came here on a recommendation from a local resident for lunch. Small place on outside of downtown. Was greeted pleasantly and made to feel at home right away. Had the brisket & rib combo meal which came with 2...sides. It definitely filled me up as I didn't eat again until late night. Everything was tasty and would come back when in the area.More

Ok people always eat seafood while on the coast, but this place is worth it. The brisket just melts. So tender you honestly don’t have to chew. The rib pieces for an app is outstanding. Mac and cheese is worth the trip just for it.

Was anxiously awaiting our visit to Hot Spot based on the glowing comments from previous patrons and based on the fact I have been smoking at a competitive level for 15 years. Wife had sausage/brisket and I had brisket. Brisket was tender with good bark....However the brisket had no smoke ring and had a overly smoky taste for having been smoked in 90% oak. Sausage tasted like kielbasa and was average. Cole slaw was crisp with a vinegar base. Mac/cheese had a unique ham addition and was tasty. Corn on the Cobb was hot but rubbery as it had been wrapped in foil. The Service provided by Amanda was top notch and would be tough to be bettered. She was highly knowledgeable in the process and product and was enthusiastic to be there. The Pumpkin Cream Pie is not to be missed. Prices are about 20-30% more than what I have experienced at other BBQ establishments. $52 for lunch and dessert was a little pricey...... Overall...a good establishment.....More

The food is way over pricrd.$2.99 for a Coke that is in a bottle not cold is too high. $21.00 for two ribs nonsense. The menu does not tell about the weight of ribs hides the true facts. Ribs are weighed and still cost 20.00...even if the weight is low. Coleslaw dressing is like glue gross. Bread is just plain white bread no garlic bread nothing. Limited menu worst restaurants in area. At least Sonnys has variety.More

I just got back from Hot Spot for dinner. The customer service, especially our server Jessica, is top notch and the food is DEFINITELY worth the trip! The owner came out, asked us about our experience and shared with us his vast knowledge of the...BBQ industry. The ribs are fall off the bone delicious and the sauce is heavenly. 10/10 will go back!More

It's great if you like flies. There are flies in the kitchen and throughout restaurant. Bluebottle flies. Bugs touch utensils and food. There is one person who washes dishes so the dishes get only partially clean. I use to work there. Flies are a health...violation and it must be reported. Inside kitchen is really bad flies everywhere.More

We eat a lot of barbeque so we know good barbeque. Recently we ate at Hot Spot Barbeque with another couple for dinner. My wife had the pulled pork and I had the brisket. The food was delicious! The atmosphere is casual and cozy. Our...server, Jessica, was friendly, prompt and humorous, which made the evening even more fun. The other couple with us are long time residents of Pensacola. They know the best places to eat, and Hot Spot is one of them for sure. We will be back.More
