Perhaps we should have stuck with catfish. We chose the mullet. It was fresh but so overcooked it was dry. Slaw was good. The restaurant smelled off. Maybe still dealing with hurricane water damage?

I ordered 2 meals and was told it would arrive by 6:43. At 7:15 still no delivery! I tried to call the restaurant and got a constant busy signal. I will be going to the restaurant to get a refund.More

Food was ok, we used to own a bar and grill and I'm very familiar with this type of food, buy it already prepped and fry it up when ordered. Service was good she was very attentive and very pleasant probably would give service 4...stars. Don't think I could honestly recommend this place to anyone based on the really good restaurants in the area.More

We were going to share the seafood platter on the lunch menu but It was not enough for two. I ordered an additional catfish (2 pieces) with cheese grits. The cheese grits were really good. The slaw had sweet relish and I didn't care for...it. I would eat there again. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly.More

We were visiting the base for a few days and stopped in for dinner. People in Pensacola don't know what a gem they have. We tried the Shrimp place up the street first because of the fancy advertising. What a disappointment - typical overpriced tourist...garbage (shrimp was bland and portions were small). The next night we took our group to David's Catfish House - They have a really complete menu with Mississippi farm raised catfish (no muddy taste) and gulf seafood. We had the fried green tomatoes app, Amazing catfish, broiled & blackened Mahi-Mahi and a variety of very flavorful shrimp. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we got and the wait staff was Southern nice. Highly recommend this placeMore

We love David’s in Atmore and drive to it on purpose when coming in from Atlanta. Coleslaw and tea come out first followed by catfish my dad would be proud of. Our visit to the Pensacola location was not what we have experienced in Atmore....Took 45 minutes to get our food: cold hush puppies and fish not freshly cooked. The coldslaw came out last, and we had to remind them about it . I guess this kind of quality is hard to duplicate. Such a shame because we wanted the Pensacola location to be a go to place when we are home. We will stick with the Atmore location and hope the quality will continue there.More

Let me start by saying that I love the David's Catfish House in Atmore, AL and Milton, FL. I assumed that I would get the same quality of food here that I get there but I did not. First of all, the waitress was very...nice and patient. The food was gross!! First of all, the hush puppies and greens were cold. Had to send both back. My baked potato looked pale-gray, slightly brown, not white and fresh. The fish was hot but it had a funny taste, probably cooked in old oil. The shrimp, again, was cold and had the same funny taste from the old oil. I don't like fried food to be room temp. I expect everything to be cooked fresh. My other party members had the same issues with their food: cold hush puppies and lukewarm greens. We will not be going again.More

They have a casual, simple dining room with both tables and booths. We go for family dinners on Sunday nights about once a month (one of the local restaurants we frequent). We enjoy talking and laughing during the meal... More
