It was ok… we waited an hour almost two for our food and my bf was served with dirty dishes and nasty salad!!! My food was sour and didn’t taste right the only thing I ate was the mashed potatoes . I don’t recommend!!!

After waiting an hour for a table (which was fine), our party was seated, drink order promptly taken. The bread was brought to the table, still no drinks. After 20 mins we asked our waiter about our drinks. He proceeded to basically argue with my...husband & was giving us excuses as to why we had not received our drinks. Food was not good at all. The ribs that was ordered at our table were literally burnt. This was our 2nd and last visit to this restaurant. The manager came to our table and listened to our concerns, but offered no words, apology or anything. Completely unacceptable!!More

My friend and I have been coming down to Pensacola for five years and it's tradition to stop at Saltgrass on the way to where we stay and then again sometime during the week go back again since we loved the brisket burger and BBQ...sauce! Our experience this past Saturday didn't turn out the way we had hoped. Due to Covid and the lack of available servers the wait was 20 minutes unless we wanted to sit at the bar. Since we had been on the road for 10 hours at that point and were looking forward to the food we decided to sit at the bar and order there. Since they no longer had the brisket burger we decided to both get the grilled chicken instead. My friend ordered the chicken, rice and a salad (they were out of the sweet potato fries which are good if/when they are available) and I ordered the grilled chicken and broccoli. Since I didn't want the salad I asked if I could get two sides to which the bar tended/server James said that yes I could. I then ordered the mac and cheese. The meal was good and even though it wasn't what we had been expecting to eat it was still well worth the wait. When the check came I saw that i was charged $17.99 plus an additional $4.95 for the secod side I ordered. I asked James if the meal didn't come with two sides or you could substitute a side for the salad since he said I could have two sides. His entire demeanor changed and he looked at me and said that it only came with one side and anything extra was an upcharge and "sorry I didn't tell you about that before." When I said i was under the impression that it was two sides or a side and salad he cut me off and said that "this is the way I have been ringing this up the entire time I have worked here (which was three weeks)." It was quite clear there would be no more discussion and he wasn't willing to address the matter further. After the tip--which having been raised to leave a tip regardless of the lack of service--and the $9 carrot cake I ordered to go I ended up paying $40 for a grilled chicken dinner and two sides. (I only had water to drink) My friend who had the same grilled chicken, rice and salad along with a diet coke and carrot cake actually had a bill that was $2.00 LESS than what I was charged. Now, the food was exceptional and if you are looking for some good food I have had the chicken, steak and salmon and have no problems with any of them and the food has never been in question, but I will say that the attitude that was shown and the lack of care to make sure the customer was satisfied while also having to swallow the $40 ticket for a CHICKEN DINNER when I haven't had to pay that much at any other restaurat since being here....and it was more and better food no less....to say that it still upsets bofh of us to the point we will more than likely never frequent this particular establishment in the future is not an exageration. I realize that this is a problem that I created by not making sure I knew exactly what was going on and asked for clarification in every instance rather than expecting this to be the same as it had always been where I wasn't charged additional sides without being given a heads up....I warn all of you to make sure you and your server are on the same page because if James happens to be the one taking your order you may be shocked at what you end up paying for!!!More

Since I have to give 1 star I will be generous.  From the hostess to the manager this is by far the 2nd worse service I have ever received in my 60 years. I asked the hostess if you could eat anywhere around here where...would you eat?  They named many restaurants except there own. I should have listened and left then.  After 45 minutes we were finally seated. After anothrt 15 minutes. Now we have been here one hour and we asked for a waiter/waitress to take our order.  Tyler a young man that stated he started working here 2 days ago, started off at 5 stars, then quickly fell to 1.  Seems like females and the bar were more important than his customers... First we were upcharged on a bottle of wine, and waited 20 minutes on 3 sodas a bottle of wine and the bread was another 15 minutes... 2 hours go by and still no food....then finally a different waitress with an attitude brought over 1 plate - steak and shrimp with fries that looked like it was 3 weeks old, I guess not bad since there was 5 of us... As a veteran I had better food in Desert Storm...after 2 hours, I asked the only hard working and very nice waitress Sylvia for the manager she cleaned our salad bowls and brought us the world's worse manager ever; who throws their wait staff under the bus?  Salamae... what a joke.More

Made reservations thinking a steak house at the beach would be packed at 6pm. Wrong. More servers than they were tables AT 6pm. We were seated immediately and waited for a waiter/waitress to greet us for our drink orders. Waited 15 minutes and overheard the...manager yell at a waitress to get over to our table. One of the members of my group made a comment about this waitress prior to her coming to our table because it looked like she may have been high and/or drunk. Definitely one of the two if not both. She finally comes over and we had already made up our minds on what we wanted to eat before even taking our drink order. Probably had a better chance of getting our order across to a rotting corpse because she was clueless. Took another 10 minutes to finally get the drinks out. Ended up paying for the drinks and leaving. Many of the seafood restaurants have excellent steaks in the gulf breeze area. Peg leg Pete’s and flounders both have excellent filets that are well worth the cost. STAY AWAY FROM SALTGRASS!!! Check the reviews over the past few months! Almost all 1-2 stars. You have been warned!!!More

A steakhouse should know how to grill a steak. Twice in a row I have been to this Saltgrass and have been very disappointed in my meal. Medium rare does not mean well done - both times. If you want overcooked shoe leather and a...half a beer (because it was a terrible pour and mostly head) then come to this place. Two strikes and you’re out. I will not be returning.More

Service was quick with the water and tableware. Took 11+ minutes to get a drink. About 30 minutes to get the main course. Thought they forgot the salad, but no, it was just slow like everything else. I ordered a medium rare house steak. I...received 1/4 inch piece of something that was black on the end and tough throughout. Sent it back. Wife's meal was edible but tasteless. Needless to say, we won't be going back. BTW, it was about 4:30 in the afternoon and not at all busy.More

Arrived at a non-busy time. Server greeted us and took initial order. Took 15 minutes to get drinks; longer to get salad. Then the main course came. I had ordered a sirloin medium rare. I received a well done piece of shoe leather. Manager immediately...saw the problem and offered to redo the order. I opted to skip it. Wife ordered the steak and shrimp. Of course they forgot the shrimp until reminded. Steak was dry and tasteless.More

We have eaten at Saltgrass in Texas in the past and it was absolutely amazing so we couldn't wait to eat here while on vacation. It was not very busy and we were seated immediately. We ordered our food and just sat there almost and...hour. Other waiters and waitresses were running there butts of while ours was hardly seen . When our food finally arrived my husband had onions on his steak instead of mushrooms. We asked for ketchup for my husband and sons fries and A1 for three steaks and was brought one tiny cup of ketchup and one tiny cup of A1 for the three of us. Our steaks were almost cool to touch and my baked potatoe was slightly warm. Vey obvious that it sat for a while after cooked. The steak had a great taste. If it would've been brought to our table when taken off the grill it would have been amazing. Our glasses were empty about half way through my meal and stayed empty . Our waitress had us and maybe two other tables the whole hour and 20 minutes that we were there. You pay $80 for three steaks and water and get this type of service is unacceptable. We will not go back to this location.More

It’s not on the menu as a whole cake but you can only ask. Pricing is unknown as the cake is not on the regular menu
