This one is a mixed bag - the place is very nice and some of their plates are really good, however, they operate it quite poorly, and the whole experience gets ruined by that.. We used to be regulars at La Strega coming here every...weekend for a family lunch or dinner. When problems at the kitchen started - very long wait times, mixed up orders, we changed to other places. Recently we booked a family Valentine’s day dinner and paid $160 for the reservation.. Unfortunately, the restaurant just did a money-grab for the Valentines with limited 3 course menu and obligatory reservations. They were overbooked, people who pre-paid had to wait for the tables, sometimes up to an hour; kitchen was extremely slow, staff overworked; our entrees didn’t come up for 50 minutes, when they came we only got two out of the four ordered. Servers were doing what they could, but it’s the management that allowed this to happen with insufficient staff. Looked like multiple guests did not really got to enjoy the Valentines because of that. When we got the final bill, it did not include a credit for the $160 paid for the reservation. This is quite unusual, we were told we’re gonna get it back on the card.. I hope he management learns from this experience and puts customer service first in the future.More

Very classy experience. High level waitresses. Immediately when you walk in the atmosphere takes you up a notch. Pasta and Filet Migno was delicious, guava pudding and chocolate cake were spot on.

I had a late dinner last night and everything was good! The only thing I would say that made me unsettled the more I think about is the young lady at the front. On entry she immediately spoke to me in spanish- when I informed,..."I'm so sorry I don't understand spanish" she kept in the same refrain until I informed again and then she began speaking in perfect english. On exiting the restaurant she asked me how was everything and responded, "it was very good, thanks so much." She responds by slightly snapping her fingers, switches neck (in the stereotypical ghetto motion) and says, "thank you girl." My BF and I looked at each other saying, "what was that about." This was a disgusting display. On my next visit- should I decide- I will be sure to take my FLORIDA BAR CARD... smh. Maybe showing I'm an attorney would garner more respect. There was nothing in my countenance, attire and speech that would warrant such a vile display. I'm sure I was not the first woman of color to enter the restaurant and I'm certain I will not be the last.More

The staff other than the server spoke little English. they were not even Italian - Anyway, the food was just OK - On a scale from 1-10 with 10 being best - I give them a 7. What really bothered me........they add a 18% gratuity,...and the server does not tell this to the customers and there is no signage posted. RIPOFF??? If large parties I could understand, but we were 4 people, and they do this even if you're a single person dining alone. I wonder how many people tip twice?? HMMM RIPOFF! - Should be illegal. SHAME ON THIS PLACE!More

This was the second time in the past few weeks we have supped at La Strega. It is such a wonderful change of pace. Very good and reasonably-priced food, but with old-fashioned touches, like crisp white table cloths and flowers, and relaxing, live background music....No better way or place to unwind on a Friday night. We’ll be back, for sure.More

Deciding to have a mid-week meal out, I decided to try something new. Thus we settled on La Strega. We had no expectation of linen tablecloths nor of soft and soothing live music, but that is what we discovered on entry. Kevin, our waiter, suggested...the wine, and it was great. The Caesar salad was crisp and tasteful, my wife’s eggplant parm quickly disappeared, and my plans of eating only half of my linguini bosco fell by the wayside. We really enjoyed ourselves, and will be back soon!More

We visited La Strega this afternoon and we had a great gastronomic experience from the bread to the dessert. The place is cozy and nicely decorated. Bryan was our host and we were very impressed with his professionalism although being very young. Nice wine list...and extensive menu of Italian dishes. I had the osobuco ravioli as main course and it was excellent. The dessert menu was very interesting and I opted for a pistachio with almonds that amazed me. I highly recommend this restaurant for the lovers of fine Italian cuisine.More

After reserving the private dining area a month in advance and then confirming it a few days before, our party of 13 people arrived on time only to find another party in the room. When I asked the woman at the front desk what’s going...on, she looked at me like a deer in headlights. I said to her that I had made the reservation with her in person and then confirmed it with her on the phone. She remembered and concurred but did nothing! I then asked to speak with the owner and she replied she was the owner (which I doubt based upon her unconcerned demeanor). After about 45 minutes, the other party left and the clean up began and the table and chairs put in place for our group. We were seated and then we WAITED. No server, no water, no menus, NOTHING. I went out again and asked the “owner” for service. She nodded! In came a server and asked if we wanted sparkling water or regular and then disappeared. After another 10 minute wait, another waiter appeared and asked what kind of water we wanted!!! I told him we already went through this and said, “I’m sorry but we are very short staffed with only two servers and one busboy for the entire restaurant. We were now over a full hour past our reservation time and we were being asked to be patient because of under staffing! We decided that this evening was lost and the indication was that it was not going to get better. We decided to leave and as we left, I noticed the “owner” talking with the server and another man. I went up to them to tell them they ruined a birthday celebration for an entire family. The response from the unrecognized man was that as the “General Manager” he was taking responsibility and he apologized. Where was he for the previous hour???? Do yourself a favor, AVOID THIS PLACE. They are clueless when it comes to avoiding and resolving an issue. Worse yet, they DON’T CARE!More

This is a fine dining experience. From the setting, food, service and atmosphere. This time live violin music. All food was excellent. Penne Arriabata was not on the menu, I asked or server if the Chef could make it, Chef said Yes. It was Great...just like last time. My Wife and Son ordered the Tiramisu, the both said it Was Authentic. I ordered the Cannoli, what a treat I got 3 of them and they were good. This is a really good restaurant, expensive but again a good value. Do Not Waste your time going a mile further west to "Il Toscano", that place is bad.More

Dined here on 1-30-2021. This place is difficult to spot. I have driven on Pines Blvd. the main street about 500 times and this restaurant is hidden. Unless you know it is there or you luck out, you will not know it is where it...is. I lucked out finding it. I was looking for "il Toscano" which is a little further West and happen to see La Strega on the internet. Read the reviews also the menu and decided to visit. Best Decision I ever made. This is a 5 Star restaurant. As good as any fine restaurant you will eat at anywhere including Italy. Service from "Howard A." was perfect, ask for him to wait on you. Atmosphere just right for this level of dining experience with live piano music. Food a savory experience. We ordered the peppers and burrata cheese as an appetizer to split. The burrata cheese they must have made in house 5 minutes before it was that fresh, peppers and onions were not overpowering just right. As for the house bread it is a rosemary flat bread, it was fresh and tasty. My Wife ordered the Chicken Rollatini in sauce, it was a large portion and she said it was great. Her side dishes were sauted green beans and garlic roasted potatoes, I tasted them and I thought they were savory. I ordered the Penne Arriabatta, it was EXCELLENT. As good as any I have ever had. Desserts, I should have had 1 of everything. My Wife had the Lemoncello Tartufo I tasted it and it was devine. I had the Chocolate Tartufo and it was also unbelievable. I saw them bringing to another table the Tiramisu (which is the house specialy and is a rather large chunk) and Cannoli's, they all looked great. I just have a feeling that All desserts here are addictive ! Nice wine list, we had a Cabernet from Lodi Califoria "called the CAB" it was delicious. Customers all nicely dressed upper middle class, no yelling or unwanted excitment. I am already planning to come back mid-February and bring my Son this time who works for me. In all honesty, this is a really good restaurant. My hat goes off to them. I plan on being a frequent customer. I am only upset it is so hidden and did not know about it much sooner.More
