We are a family of 6, my husband our two boys ( 15&13) his mother, my mother and of course myself. My mother and mil came to captain Andersons many many many years ago and loved it, I don’t remember it, but then again my...mother said I would sleep in a closet when I was there last ( I think that meant I was a baby… still not sure) Anyway, we all met up for a small getaway to PCB. I’ve never given much thought to the restaurant or have any driving desire to go, but is was Mother’s Day weekend and I was trying to find something special, it was the first Mother’s Day I’ve spent with my mother in several years and I noticed that captain Andersons was open for brunch that day, so before we all went our separate ways we stopped in for our Mother’s Day brunch. Stephen C. was our waiter and I must say, in all my years of eating out Stephen was fan-freaking-tastic! I mean quick witted and sharp! Totally understands when to laugh and take his time and when to speed up! My 13yr old has issues waiting so after we put in the drink order we put in his order. He got a hamburger and french fries, my husband had the tomahawk ribeye with the salad and fries, I had the seared scallops with the she crab soup, my mil had the filet with a baked potato (she doesn’t eat soup or salad so I ordered her) she crab soup, my mother had the stuffed half lobster and my 15yr old had the filet. My husband ribeye was insane! The char was delicious and the flavor of the beef🤤…. I actually just finished his for my lunch today lol. My scallops were… okay, not worth the $43 we paid but it was what I wanted to try. 5 scallops for that much, next time I will get something else. My mil’s filet was like butter! In fact I cut it with a butter knife! My mom has issues with anything that says “crab” now we are crab lovers but a lot of people use snow crab in the stuffings and soups and the last time she had snow crab she became violently ill so she now avoids it. Stephen assured us that there was no snow crab in anything we were ordering. Her stuffed lobster was delectable!!! I might order that next time lol. My husband also ordered the mozzarella sticks and our son, myself and my mother shared the calamari!!!! Everything was very very good and now captain Andersons is on our go to list for whenever we are back in PCB. The one thing I would change is have a special needs waitlist as well as a regular wait list. We were there before the doors opened so it wasn’t a big issue and since I know they do not have one when we go we will be going early. This is a MUST eat place!!! We will most definitely be back, every visit!More
