Dined with friends who ate here on their honeymoon 40+ years ago! Arrived early so didn't have to wait. (Long wait for a table as we were leaving on a Saturday evening.) Food was very good....one person had grilled grouper, 2 had grilled shrimp, and I had oven broiled stuffed shrimp. Greek salads were very good; portions generous; and hush... More

My wife and I went to enjoy our anniversary. They don't take reservations, which is ok, just know you could wait a very long time. The wait for a table for two was long than larger groups. There is some sitting while you wait, if you get it. Our waitress really didn't act like she wanted to be there, especially... More

Probably one of the oldest restaurants at PC Beach, FL. Located next to the charter boats and fish house. Need a reservation but well worth the wait unless you get there early. Large seating capacity and great service. Food is some of the best at PC beach. Great ambiance and views.

Great service, amazing food, good place for quiet dinner or family & friends. Boats come in outside so you can see your dinner coming off the boat! Nice giftshop.

We had the grilled red snapper, crab claws and Feud Cake! It was all to die for! We try to go to Captain Anderson's whenever we are in town! Crowded, but worth the wait.

The concept here reminds me of the supper clubs in Wisconsin; however, the food is just okay. The prices are quite steep, also. We ordered Brandy Old Fashions just because of that atmosphere, but they used low grade brandy. Not good. They took them off our tab, though. My wife and I had fish that was good, and their hush... Went here on the advice of a friend and was highly disappointed. It is upscale and they charge you for that atmosphere but I sure wish they gave me my moneys worth in food rather than atmosphere. I ordered the "famous" Bay shrimp and it was OK but honestly it wasn't worth $20 (taste or proportion size). The food was... More

Capt. Anderson's restaurant is one of those rare "family" restaurants that not only survives, but strengthens and improves through the years. The landmark waterfront restaurant is celebrating its 46th anniversary in 2013, and every year has witnessed remarkable growth without loss of quality. The restaurant has grown to 725 seats and, six nights a week, serves over 250,000 guests during its 8 month season. Founders, Jimmy and Johnny Patronis set high standards of hard work and consistency for the younger Patronis generations, and they still pull their shifts at the busy restaurant, stopping by to welcome old friends and loyal customers... occasionally bussing a table or taking a special order. Their passion for the business is undoubtedly the root of Capt. Anderson's success.Named among America's Top 50 restaurants, recipient of the "Best Seafood Restaurant" award from Southern Living and Wine Spectator's "Award of Excellence," Capt. Anderson's won Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Award for 15 years before being inducted into the Restaurant Hall of Fame in 2005. The Hall of Fame is the highest honor Florida Trend can bestow upon a Florida restaurant.Year 'round, the Patronis family works with fishermen, oystermen and others who make their living harvesting the Gulf and Bay waters, to preserve the natural oyster beds of Apalachicola Bay... to build artificial reefs... and protect the fragile coastal ecology. Preserving and replenishing the rich natural bounty of the Gulf Coast is part of the Capt. Anderson’s legacy, one of the most important reasons this landmark restaurant is known for serving more fresh local seafood than any other restaurant in Florida.

First, I will say we were totally floored by our Capt Anderson’s dining experience. So much so we questioned whether we were dining at the right restaurant.

We were in PCB from 10/25 thru 11/08 and Capt Anderson’s was very highly recommended by two other couples, hotel desk clerk, and a waiter at another restaurant (Long Horn).

We were told to arrive early because the restaurant would get very busy later in the evenings (we could expect a 45 mins or more wait) and made aware Capt. Anderson’s was scheduled to close up for the season the middle of November through the beginning of February.

Q: What night did you dine with us?

A: This was not an evening dinner but rather a late afternoon. ETA was between 4:30-4:45pm (sun still up, no waiting, promptly seated). When we did leave it was after sunset and there were a lot of people in the lobby and outside patio area waiting to get in. Sorry, I do not have specific date. Unfortunately, I decided to pay cash rather than wait to pay by credit card. Otherwise, I would have exact date and time as we keep our CC receipts to tie back to our purchases. Speaking of which, I do not have CC dining receipts for the early evenings of 10/30(Th), 10/31(Fr), 11/01(Sa) or 11/03(Mo).

Q: what you ordered?

A: Entrée:

      a) Filet mignon med well (w/potato).

      b) Broiled gulf scallops (w/salad).

Q: Who your server was?

A: Do not remember our server's name. She was quite polite, very busy waiting tables, and apologetic about our meals. We sat at a table for two on the left side of the upper dining area next to a handrail overlooking a lower dining area and view of boats at the docks. Next to our table (away from the rail) is the table where the party of six was seated. Again, when we got our check I (1) unfortunately paid cash rather than having to wait paying by credit card and (2) I did not take the dining receipt as I should have. When exiting the dining area the lobby and outside entrance areas were packed with people waiting to dine. As my wife and I approached our car in the parking lot she said “I hope they have a better dining experience.”.
