My wife was in the mood for a real turkey dinner with stuffing and a baked potato, so we thought we would give Popi's Place a try.
It was exceptional, the stuffing was really special, and you get a choice of potato including baked which is hard to find these days. Plus a vegetable as well, all for $12. Lots of other nice dishes and there were about 5 specials offered that evening.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and our server Theresa was efficient and friendly.
This is like a real old fashioned diner, with hearty home made meals, at a very reasonable price.

WOW, Hanna, really took care of us. We had been here before and had sandwiches and they were very good. This time our dinner were over the top. I had the Baked Spaghetti... a huge plate of wonderfully tasty (great flavor, thick and sweet) sauce SMOTHERED in cheese that was teriffic. The chicken parmesan was again fabulous and a huge portion to boot. Large piece of tender breast meat covered half of the plate and the other half piled with spaghetti & sauce. We also had fresh chrisp salads with garlic toast and warm sweet rolls. It put Olive Graden to shame.

We stopped here for breakfast and were not disappointed with food. Portions were nice size. Biscuits were huge and delicious. Service was just okay. We had to keep asking for necessary items such as coffee. Overall food was good and restaurant was nice. I would consider a local diner.

I greeted the hostess and told her we'd like to sit out side. She didn't respond even though she was looking right at me. I stood there a minute waiting for her to say, "okay" and give me a couple of menus to bring outside.
She looked at me with daggers and snapped, "OK!"
So, I went outside and sat at an empty table that had dirty dishes on it because it was the only table available. We waited about 15 minutes for a server to clear the table and give us menus. She never bothered to say, "hello or sorry it took me so long to get to your table"...nothing. The server acted like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us.
I've been going to Popi's for years and was always happy with the food and service. The staff used to be kind and courteous. Apparently, things have changed and now it is acceptable for the staff to be rude & curt to the customers.
This seems to be a recurring theme with Popi's restaurants. The staff at the 17th St. location in Sarasota isn't any better.
There are too many other great places to dine where the staff understands how to provide great food & courteous service.

It’s been a year now and the wait staff still has no clue how to wear a mask or wear one at all! People coming in with no masks. I won’t be back, I don’t care how good the food is. Ridiculous. Lady at front desk wears hers but that’s it. Gave 2 stars for the food.

I have always lived this place it's right next door to my work and it's been convenient and the staff have been kind. Today has changed my mind. The biscuits and gravy is the worse I have ever had. Online they look great but no: the biscuits were so dry I had to chug water with it and I mean it was drowning in gravy just a ridiculous amount. Being in the service industry myself presentation even in a to go box is still everything my scrambled egg was sitting in liquid ugh just it's a no for me forever. I can't get this taste and sight out of my mind. The gravy was separating and it was fresh? No idea but today for the first time ever I've been very disappointed. I paid 16.00 to throw it away: awesome.

Parking for all kind and size of vehicles at this diner. We were seated immediately in this huge building. Food, prices, service were fine, not great. Patrons have to exit the diner to use the restrooms. Hope it is not raining if you visit.

Great servers, always great food anytime of day, breakfast, lunch or dinner. i had dinner the other night , baked spaghetti. I'm going to say, "its the best baked spaghetti", in Manatee County. Bring a hearty appetite.

Stopped in for lunch after a long walk and am glad we did. Family restaurant with great food and pleasant wait staff. Very fresh and well made. Sweet potato fries unbelievable.

This particular Popi’s Place is the only place that gives a hard time when bringing in a Service dog! Every time we have walked in we feel like we are criminals. First of all I am not leaving my dog in 90degree car and second (should be first reason) IT IS FEDERAL LAW TO NOT DISCRIMINATE. I have FULL ACCESS to all facilities. I am always respectful and careful not to bother anyone. The owner needs to speak with the other Popis Place restaurants,because they are wonderful. It makes me want to drive to Sarasota to Popis Too instead of this place. .

Something for everyone on this menu. Super friendly servers, many who have worked there for years. Specials everyday and breakfast served all day long.
Impressive desert menu with some interesting choices - Baklava Cheesecake? Yes Please !
