Our beautiful old Victorian building has been beautifully restored to the era of the 1920’s & today's Rose Villa offers a polished casual atmosphere with Southern hospitality. Lovely house, great service and food, waiter was very knowledgeable. Only small criticism was that waiter forgot water after asking twice, also husband not bought a knife for his steak. Valet service very helpful

A completely delightful dining experience from start to finish. We came here to celebrate our anniversary per recommendations of the hotel we were staying in, and boy, did they steer us in the right direction!! We arrived around 5:30 on a recent beautiful Saturday evening, valeted the car, and walked inside the most beautiful, old, historic restaurant. Greeted and seated immediately in a charming room on the first floor adorned with magnificent wallpaper and portraits of the "old guard" aka "old money". Our server, Lynn, was informative, well paced and a pleasure to dine with. The owner, Patrick, also stopped by our table to ensure we were enjoying-how could we not? Between the atmosphere and the food and the service - they have a winning combination. (Ask if you can have a tour of the house, it's really something to behold-next time we will dine upstairs and you've got to see the absinthe bar). Back to the food: We shared the deviled eggs and they we devilly delicious! The chow chow is just the right touch. We also shared a uniquely and equally delicious Cesar salad made from brussel sprout shaving and served warm, not to be missed. The gentlemen ordered the Southern fried chicken, for which they are renowned, and it certainly did not disappoint. Add collards and mashed potatoes and warm biscuits to the mix and he was one satisfied customer. I had the shrimp n grits, which was yummy, but for me, the andouille was just a tad smoky for my taste buds. Didn't stop me from enjoying every bite. Dessert was "on the house" since it was our anniversary, so nice. We chose the hummingbird cake, OMG, it was the perfect portion to share and sinfully decadent. Cannot wait to return on our next visit!!

Awesome Restaurant

The food and service was terrific. We went for lunch, and their lunch menu was a little less expensive than the Dinner selection. I ordered a Chicken Pot Pie (one of my faves). The crust was obviously made from scratch, and it was one of the best Pot Pies I’ve ever had. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We can highly recommend this establishment!

This is the type of restaurant that only gets by with good ratings because it’s location is otherwise surrounded by *more* garbage and the people who frequent are impressed with a red lobster dinner. The service, the atmosphere, the food - frankly, all tragic. I also heard the hostess mock guests who entered wearing masks when they left and also gave them an inflated wait time and again... spoke about that decision when they left. No matter where you stand on that, why engage with other customers about something that has virtually no effect on you? Unprofessional and so, again, tragic.

Not What We Expected

We came in for lunch and my husband wanted the chicken sandwich and were told they were out of chicken. So he chose the Chef's Salad. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. As we were waiting for our food, the server came out and told us the delivery truck had arrived and did my husband still want his sandwich. He said he would rather have the sandwich, so that added extra time to our wait. With that being said he said his sandwich was just okay, nothing to get excited about. My Shrimp and Grits were just average, most shrimp and grits are served in a bowl with a nice layer of grits. These were served on a dinner plate, a very thin layer of grits and shrimp not a lot of flavor. Had to ask for a spoon to be able to finish eating the grits, very runny. Not that impressed with either dish. Don't think we will be trying this place again.

First, I want to say the staff at Rose Villa were very nice. The rest of the experience was terrible. I had booked this a "pre New Years Eve Dinner" and got the family together to have a nice, quiet meal. Upon arrival, there really is no where to sit unless you go to the bar which has only 8 seats. On a busy night, you're standing around until you are called. Don't arrive too early. We were taken upstairs and seated in a loud noisy room next to the Absinthe Bar. I would have preferred a different room but that's all there was available, Our waiter was nice but stressed as he explained to a table next to us he was running quite a bit with multiple tables downstairs he had also. We ordered the deviled eggs- delicious! Lobster tomato appetizer- not so much. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and it came out cold. He tasted it and was not good at all therefore sent it back. They did their best to accommodate us and he got the chicken like the rest of us. It was bland and greasy. Mashed potatoes and gravy were hot and delicious. I was really disappointed in the overall experience here as I was hoping for that "fantastic meal and experience" and that just didn't happen. For the price of 4 people at $110, I expected better. Given the fact one person ordered a $14 hamburger and it was probably the best out of the entire meal served. Husband and I up half the night sick to our stomachs. Not going back again.

Wonderful food and atmosphere

We arrived for brunch and were promptly seated, coronavirus seating in place. We ordered a tasty tomato soup as our appetizer . I had a Bloody Mary that was delicious without being overly seasoned. My friend ordered the fried chicken with macaroni and cheese on the side. He enjoyed his meal and I helped him finish the Mac and Cheese, which was creamy, cheesy and tasty. I had a Brussel Sprout Caeser salad which was served warm and I added broiled salmon with that. I rarely order salmon, because when I do it is usually dry, even at a seafood restaurant. But, I was asked how I would like it cooked and that itself was a good sign. I am happy to say it was cooked to perfection! We had to leave for the races so we didn’t have time for dessert, but everything is homemade, even the ice cream. We’re going to try these next time when we go back for the jambalaya. A big thank you to our waitress, Leigh, who is a delight and knows her menu!

Truly Exceptional

All of the staff members are totally attentive & are such nice, genuine, and welcoming people. This is a lovely place to hang out & unwind, time and time again. Last night we tried the brussel sprout ceasar salad for the first time & found a new favorite app, and the sea bass & grouper were both so delicious, it's impossible to choose a favorite. The chef is absolutely awesome, always willing to accommodate special diets needs & even coming out personally to discuss the preparation if needed. And she's so creative that I've never tried anything that I didn't find exquisite. Rose Villa has an outstanding team, who all seem to project the high ideals that owner posesses & that's something you just don't find. The wonderful food & above and beyond level of service that everyone provides makes this restaurant a most wonderful dining experience. Truly exceptional.

Fantastic meal in historic building

This is a beautifully restored building which invites you to wander around and look at the different wallpapers and hidden gems. Our waitress was very attentive without hovering and allowed us to enjoy our fabulous meal without feeling like we were going to be run out of the restaurant. We started with cocktails (I highly recommend the blueberry lemontini) and the fried green tomatoes with lobster. From there the meal kept getting better with the brussel sprout Cesar salad, grouper special and dessert. When going to this restaurant plan to go hungry so you can enjoy all courses.

Beautiful place dated for the 20's and 30's

We were staying in Ormond Beach for a week and had either lunch or dinner out just about every day. While driving on beach drive near the water in town we spotted this big Victorian home that was turned into a restaurant. We stopped in and they were quite busy. We did get seated in the bar area which was fine. I did take some pictures but have not down loaded so I apologize for that. The colors were Burgundy, cold and blue and greens on the outside. Just picture the inside back in these big Victorian homes with wall paper from the 20-30's era, where ceilings had paper from the walls inward for part of the way. Loads of crown moldings' everywhere. Lot's of pictures of people and places on the walls. they even had a old picture of Henry Ford on one wall. Furniture was wood, with many colonial accents. They had a full bar for beers and wines as well as mixed drinks. They do entertain private parties upstairs or outside under a small tent. Lovely landscaped as well. Parking is limited, so you may have to walk a block or two to park your car. Prices are mid to upper scale. Our lunch was $$$. The food was excellent. Do plan on going if in the area you will not be disappointed at all.

Delicious lunch

First time experiencing this gem in the heart of Ormond Beach. Set in a historic 1901, the atmosphere takes you back to a quieter time with interesting portraits featuring industry & racing legends. My wait staff member Heather was delightful with prompt service, frequent check-ins & always a smile. Hats off to their chef for creating a thoroughly enticing menu. After considering several choices, I enjoyed the warm shaved Brussel sprout caesar salad accompanied by the lump crab cake appetizer- both excellent choices. I splurged with their peach cobbler dessert which also was amazing 🌞 I'll definitely be back to try additional menu items very soon.

Hubby and I went out for our anniversary lunch. The menu had many good options and I chose the shrimp and grits. The dish was very flavorful with creamy goat cheese grits; yummy! Hubby had chicken and waffles which were also very good. Our waitress was very attentive and also brought some homemade biscuits to enjoy with our meals. Of course, we were too full for dessert but hope to return during our stay in the area. The restaurant is a beautiful place; converted Victorian Inn with interesting history, lovingly restored.

Terrible Meal

Having eaten at this restaurant several times in the past I guess I have never expressed my opinion of it. I took a hard look at their “Signature Fried Chicken” meal today. What I was served for $15.00 plus a drink was a breast and wing, 20 French fries, barely hot, and a teaspoon of sweet slaw plus a cold biscuit with hard butter. If I was the owner of this restaurant I would be embarrassed to ask for $15.00 for it. This is a very nice upper end restaurant with a nice following. Is it too much to asked for a reasonable order of fries, a reasonable serving of your “sweet slaw” and a hot biscuit and butter that didn’t just come out of the freezer. My wife loves their chicken pot pie, but if I get another meal that I have described I will be done with this restaurant. I drove from New Smyrna Beach for what I described above. I am ashamed of myself.

Excellent to outstanding food, but overpriced

Four of us dined here on a Sunday evening with reservations made early that afternoon. Even with that, dining time & seating selection was limited. Reservations a day or two prior would be better. Three in my group went with the filet & were pleased with their selection. $42 for a six ounce filet is too much to pay at this place, however, in my opinion. For $50 I can get an eight ounce center cut filet that’s far superior at a nationally known restaurant nearby in Daytona Beach. One of us had the shrimp & grits. The grits are made with goat cheese making it better than the best polenta you’ll ever eat. There were plenty of shrimp with a few other ingredients tossed in. The dish was absolutely outstanding. Some gentlemen seated nearby got the fried chicken . One could see that the portion size was huge & it looked delicious. They gave us a vigorous thumbs up when asked how it was. Our service was quite good and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. The ambience was very, very nice & the place is kept quite clean. The number of menu selections, however, is limited, to say the least. I definitely recommend Rose Villa, but would not consider this a “value-based “ selection in the stock market world.

Very good and tasty lunch

My wife and I tried out Rosa Villa recently for lunch and were not disappointed. It was pleasant outside so we asked and were seated in the outside gazebo (they have fans blowing). We started with an appetizer of Belly and Biscuits which is crispy house-smoked pork bellies served over 4 grilled open, half biscuits with tree fruit chutney. It was very good. I had the Shrimp Po'Boy sandwich with some tasty, lightly battered shrimp on a toasted baguette and my wife had the Charleston Chicken sandwich with a fried chicken breast served on a brioche bun with pimento cheese, pickled green tomato, and honey bourbon BBQ sauce. Both were very tasty and filling. We both got slaw as the side. We split a dessert of a peach cobbler with ice cream and enjoyed it also. Overall, we enjoyed the meal.
