My betrothed and I took advantage of the Magical Dining menu at Jack's Place during the October event. Last night, we were happy to do their Dining with the Stars menu in which they extended the Magical Dining experience through November. On both occasions, the food, service and atmosphere were amazing! We both enjoyed the French Onion soup, which had the perfect blend of flavors for the perfect appetizer. Our Petit Filets and accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. We loved the Cabernets recommended by our servers that were on special those evenings. These wines paired perfectly with every course of our meals. Saving the best for last: the Affogato!!!! Maple Bourbon ice cream with espresso poured on top.....Heaven on Earth! The key lime pie is the real deal and sooooo good! The in-house characature artist created the most amazing picture of my betrothed an me and our love for each other. The service was top-notch! We can't wait to return and enjoy the Grand Marnier Creme' Brulee and all this amazing restaurant has to offer!

Great Service, excellent food

Last Friday (11/06/2020) I had the pleasure of participate on my niece wedding at one of the ball room at Rosen Plaza, I was very impress and we decided to try the Jack's Place for dinner the next day. We have a table for 12 people, the service was excellent, the timing between courses was on point, we had appetizer platters, salads, main course and desserts. No complaints, the staff was friendly and knowledge.

Service and Food Top Notch

I am at a confernece at the Hyatt and there's a bit of a blackhole here when it comes to restaurants. Jack's Place is defintely hits not only the price point but quality travellers can appreciate. When I say price point, it's not discount dining. But for the quality they deliver, most places charging $20 or more for what Jack's is charging doesn't compete. First off, their front staff are extremely hospital. Right from the get go, I was a special guest and that feeling never left. I did not catch the gentleman's name but I wish I did. My server was an absolute gem. Shatara made me feel very welcome, made no issue that this guy was having an entire bottle of red to himself, engaged in meaningful small talk that makes a customer feel not only valued but welcome. I often find great service can make up for merely decent food but not other way around. If she happens to be helping you out, you have no worries on that front. As for the food, I had the shrimp cocktail which was very nice, the wasabi sauce delivered to the point that I wished I only had that other than the trio of sauces. I got the New York strip loin (blue rare) for the main and it was one of those meals where the first bite makes you appreciate that you are able to enjoy such an elegant experience and every bite after just affirms those initial feelings. Truly a perfect cook on a great cut of steak that wasn't overwhelmed with seasoning and sauces. In regards to dining options in the area, this is the cream of the crop. A must stop.

Magical Dining

Food was good for the value but the pearl barley was undercooked on 2 plates. Service was terrible our server Dina was very rude. She did not greet or approach the table for over 15 minutes as she was in the corner by another booth chitchatting about astrology and how mercury is in retrograde. Sounds like an exaggeration but that is truly what she was talking about the whole time she wasn't serving. Other tables that were seated after us already had their orders and bread service out. She complained about being new and not knowing how things went. She made a snide comment when taking our orders. She didn't ask or offer anything else to drink besides water, when we saw the busser walk by we asked if we could order drinks and he said with your server but she didn't return for that. The bussers and 2 hostesses did more work for our table including clearing plates and refills. She also forgot a steak knife for our steak and didn't return to check on us till we asked for boxes.

Not what we thought by the reviews

Our server was super nice and helpful. They offer everyone a free caricature for dining and that was cool!! Everything we ordered was not up to par. The wine and the French onion soup was the best things we had. We tried the beef titaki, it was chewy. We tried the crab cakes, they tasted like canned meat. We tried the salmon and scallops, they where ok. We ordered the Rodney Strong cabernet wine, it was really good for a cheaper bottle. Dessert was ok my boyfriend and I both thought they were small... we ordered the creme Brule and the chocolate flour less tart. If wanting an amazing meal I recommend Kress chop house, Chathams place,Eddie v's, or vitos chop house.

Hidden gem of Orlando

Top notch service and food. This place is a true hidden gem of Orlando. The assistant manager Jay was a big part of our enjoyment last night as well. He was so knowledgeable of the menu, history of the restaurant and attention to detail for customer service. Thank you Jay for going above and beyond in service. We can't wait to be back and will tell all our friends and family of how great Jack's place is to dine.

Great dinner experience

I had dinner with my family and we were a table of 12. The service and the food were excellent. We all have different plates so I can tell you that everyone was happy with their meals. We got the sample platter of appetizers and it was super good as well as the desserts.

The absolute best !

This is a hidden jewel. Dining at a hotel is something people try to avoid but Mr. Jay Finklelstein convinced us to stay (vs going across the street over to Capital Grill) and we couldn’t have made a better choice. Not only the food was superior, but the service was unbelievable. Two thumbs up to Rosen Plaza and Jack’s Place !!! And to Mr. Rosen: you need to replicate Mr. Finkelstein’s passion for service and hospitality!

Amazing Hotel Restaurant

Finding a great restaurant in your hotel is not an easy task, however, we were blessed to dine at Jack's Place, inside the Rosen Plaza Hotel. The service was top notch, staff very friendly and personable. The food was excellent, we had the special 3 course dinner, which included appetizers, meal, and dessert. Amazing food, we left there stuffed and happy! I asked for my dessert to-go because I was so full, the Key Lime Pie was a great choice.

Extremely Disappointing.

After having a number of successful visits in the past, it's clear that this restaurant is severely under-staffed, and very poorly managed by Philip Evans. Our sever was so overwhelmed, she visited our table only to take our order (after a 25 minute wait to be greeted) and was never seen again. Food was improperly cooked twice, Philip avoided speaking to our table, until forced into submission by a more senior manager. Do not recommend!

A hidden gastronomical gem on I-drive

We live in Orlando, but usually try to avoid going to the tourist area of town. We had dinner at Jack’s Place inside the Rosen Plaza Hotel this past Monday. It was a little hard to find since it is located inside the Hotel, yet advertised on the sidewalk. The room is plush yet friendly, there are hundreds of framed caricatures on display from the private collection of the owner’s father, whom had taken this art form as a hobby a few decades ago. The food is outstanding, I had the Veal Ossobuco, it was out of this world, my wife had the “Best Seabass” she is ever had, and she has tried her fair share all over the world. Take our advice and share the flourless chocolate cake, it is very good, but it is more than enough for two.

Outstanding !!!

I simply get excited when I’m dining at jacks place !! We were greeted with a warm welcome back from manager jay and shared pleasant conversation . The atmosphere of the dining room is filled with mr Rosen’s father Jack caricatures of the stars back in the day . We always ask if Amal can serve us as she has become such a sweet friend as well as an impeccable server !! Basket of warm soft bread with their signature gorgonzola pesto was yummy !! I ordered the sea bass Oscar with au gratin potatoes which are the best in town both off the charts delish , my friend had filet , 8 oz lobster with the au gratin potatoes and veg . All was perfect and we both have dinner for tomorrow.. service and food is always perfect 😍 thank you chefs for another outstanding meal !!! We have been enjoying this hotel and restaurant for over 20 years .. thank you all once again !!!

Out with friends

My out-of-town friends always say, when are we going to Jack’s Place? We went last Friday and greeted nicely by Kaitlyn the assistant manager , she escorted us to our table and a new server to the restaurant served us with a warm welcome. Soft bread basket paired with their signature Gorgonzola pesto and gator shaped soft butter so yummy !! I tried the herb crusted Seabass with citrus sauce comes with their famous best ever au gratin potatoes and fresh mixed vegetables. It was terrific!!! My friends had a fillet and all were cooked to perfection. Amal who has been our server / friend came over to greet us with a warm hug and welcome my friends back to town. She is outstanding !! The beautiful room that Mr. Rosen shares his father Jack character pictures around the room , what a talented man he was. It was very busy and loved to see people out enjoying themselves again. My husband & I went on a Friday night with another couple. We are local's and went to try the "magical Dining" experience. The restaurant was kind of small, but the atmosphere was nice. The staff was very friendly, and place seemed very clean. I thought it kind of odd that restrooms were out in the hallway. As for the food, I got the ahi tuna as my appetizer & it was wonderful, but I just wish there was more than only 3 slices. Everyone at the table got the Filet Mignon and we all agreed that the texture was fabulous, but it was lacking flavor. It needed seasoning, I should not have to add salt and pepper to my steak. I’m not a fan of clam chowder, but I tried my husbands, and it was delicious. We both added on enhancements to our meals. We got the scallops that were cooked perfect, and they got the Oscar-crab as a topper, but it came out a little delayed and then also was not fresh, so they sent it back. As for the desserts, I got the choc. Torte, that was more like a moose in texture and very rich in flavor – pairs great with the gelato. Overall, we had a great night until we went to leave. We asked our waitress if they comp. the valet charge and she said she would take care of it for us. Once outside my whole experience went from pretty good to awful. The valet guy was trying to be shady and say that we owed money. He asked us for cash, which I thought was odd since the person before us staying at the hotel used a card to pay. We tipped on the way in & we were going to tip again on the way out. He was rude and made me not want to go back to the restaurant. So, I caution you if trying the place be careful of the Valet and make sure they are clear with you.

Magical Dinning 2021

Went to Jacks for Dinner, even though self parking was free we decided to Valet park. Daniel in valet greeted us with a welcoming smile and explained the valet pricing as well as showed us where the restaurant was located. Dinner at Jacks was AMAZING! Please do your self a favor and request Dan to be your server! The service Dan provided for my family and I was heart warming. Dan went above and beyond and even helped my pregnant sister satisfy a specific craving! After dinner Jason from Valet greeted us and got our vehicle in a timely manner, with such a positive attitude. The valet team really made this visit special! Thank you to Daniel, Jason and Dan for a great night!
