Wanted good Indian food in Orlando close to I4 highway on the way from airport and this was the closest we could find. The food was good but the spice level was way high on scale we are used to in UK. Medium level is equivalent to adventurous levels in UK. Service was not to the level what reviews had... More

My husband and I have vacationed in Orlando for a number of years. We love Indian food so tried a lot of restaurants. Once we ate at Dakshin Indian Cuisine we continue to go back several times on each visit to the city. We enjoy the South India dishes and find the service is almost always very good.

We were in Orlando and wanted to try Indian Cusine. Ordered 2 currys at Dakshin. They both came out so oily, greasy and so spicy when I only ordered Mild and medium. We ended up wasting the food. Not the kind of Indian I am used to.

We stumbled upon this Indian restaurant after seeing the long queue in another restautant next door. The curries we ordered malabar lamb masala and chicken chettinad were good. They came fiery hot as we requested. However, the chicken tikka was the worst I have ever eaten. Its definitely not the tikka I have eaten all my life which is grilled... More

We went to this place to change the north Indian taste buds to get something south Indian. Had limited variety during dinner. So I say lunch might have been better. No dosa during dinner. We ordered idli sambhar, vada sambhar and biryani. Also dum aloo and parota. Their spice level is high for a medium so be careful while ordering.... More

We visit Orlando frequently and were lucky to find Dakshin on one of our very early trips. This restaurant is an absolute GEM, the menu is unique and the service is great. If I had to make a recommendation, it would be the Chicken Chettinad, but every dish we have tried was done 'right'. Glad to see that there are... More

The ambience engulfs you as you enter through the rustic opulent doors of Dakshin and it only gets better as you are treated to some of the best service and of course, the most authentic Indian cuisine you will ever experience - Guaranteed. Authentic, starting with the very aroma of the food to the rich and savory taste. My recommendation... More

First of its kind in Orlando, India's innovative cuisine, the very name 'Dakshin' evokes opulence in taste and decor.

Dakshin introduces you to a cuisine from the southern part of India stretching from the rugged coastlines of Tamil Nadu and Kerala to the sun-drenched beaches of Goa and Mumbai on India's western coast. As spectacular and surprising as the country sides are, so are the cuisines of its many communities, which were confined by and large to family kitchens, until Dakshin, the restaurant, captured and showcased them.

Created from a wealth of local spices, red chillies, coconut, pepper and spices of the coast, the cuisines of the Tamilians of Tamil Nadu, the Malayalees of Kerala, the Bunts of Mangalore, the Portuguese of Goa and the East Indians of Mumbai, are a delight to the taste buds.
