My husband & I are DVC members and always make it a point to go to Jiko each trip. Last week, we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and friends of ours happened to be down at Disney for their first trip. We all went to dinner at Jiko together. The meal was amazing as was our waitor, Giovanni. All in... More

We sat in the wine room and had plenty of privacy. Our waiter, Lucius, was the consummate professional. While we waited for our table, the bartender in the small bar area helped us choose a wine. The wines are all African and they will let you taste any of them that they serve by the glass. I enjoyed Warwick's "The... More

Jiko is a fabulous restaurant in the Animal Kingdom lodge. I was staying off property but consider it well worth the drive in to eat here. The décor is very inviting and the layout is somewhat segregated so it feels like you're eating in a much smaller place. The service is outstanding and they have a very diverse menu. They... More

We had short ribs, lamb chops/shredded lamb shoulder seasoned, and the filet mignon. All were superb. Short ribs is favored for american palate. Cinnamon, curry and clove were common flavors. A sure hit is the mashed potatoes made with corn meal. Buttery and sweet. If you don't like exotic flavors stay with the filet mignon

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday while we were in Disney. Left the kids behind for the night as in my opinion this is not really a restaurant where kids will enjoy the meal (unless they are adventurous eaters). Lovely atmosphere and good service. They even give you lavender scented warm towels to cleanse your hands before your... More

Great choice of food for vegetarians and meat eaters, with lovely wine to compliment. Really liked the service and interior design, we sat in a smaller separate room which was cosy. Dave gave great service too!

Food and service were fantastic! Make your reservation well in advance!! Yes, it is expensive, even for Disney. But the African inspired dishes were to die for and each was familiar enough to not be off putting to a less adventurous pallet.

We visited Jiko this past Thanksgiving week and I must say, WOW! This place is superb. You must try the Boar as an appetizer it was delicious, we had the filet mignon with spoon bread as a second course and the chocolate dessert. All were extremely good. The boar melted in my mouth (ask for it cooked to medium) and... More

The food here is so spectacular! It's a little on the pricey side, so it's not suitable for every occasion. I had the lamb and it was amazing. They also have a great wine list.

Our family recently stayed in the Animal Kingdom Lodge in Walt Disney World, and had a wonderful meal at Jiko-The Cooking Place. It is one of Disney's higher end restaurants and is more suitable for adults, although adventurous kids may enjoy the experience as well. The menu is focused on African tastes and dishes, and the decor reflects this. While... More
