Good place to hang out

A delightful meal

Was invited there by an English friend living in Florida who is a bit of a connoisseur of good restaurants and he said he thought we'd like this one. Set in the grounds of the Grand Cyprus, which was absolutely stunning, we walked quite a...way through beautiful grounds before arriving at Hemmingways. A lovely restaurant with excellent food and service and cocktails to die for. If I have any criticism it was the fabric of the building, particularly from the outside. It had such a beautiful view over huge waterfalls and it was approaching sunset when I decided to go around the balcony which surrounded the restaurant. Didn't look in very good repair, quite shabby and doors not in the best condition. Generally needed some TLC. Aside from that, well worth the visit. Hopefully if I return there it will have had some well deserved attention.More

Not impressed

Went for dinner based on other reviews. Spent a fortune on over cooked salmon and overcooked paella. If the food had been perfect I might not have been so annoyed at the high costs of each plate. I had better food on the plane to...Orlando!More

Outstanding food

Excellent dinner, great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food, shrimp Scampi was a bit different than traditional but outstanding, grouper was great, Paipea was plentiful. A bit noisy and on the high side in terms of price but other than that a great dinner.

Exceptional Service! Fabulous Tasting Food! Food Allergy Friendly!

We enjoy eating at Hemingway's every time we visit the Orlando area. We always have exceptional service and the food is splendid! We are a gluten free, soy free and corn free food family. Hemingway's has always been successful in catering to our food allergies...when preparing our food. This time, the Chef's Special was the best meal I have ever had here (and I have ALWAYS had great tasting food here). It was a beef filet with 2 jumbo shrimps, purple wasabi mash potatoes and multi-colored cauliflower. The presentation of the food was classy and elegant. The service is always supreme and this time was no exception. We had a great meal. We will be back!More

Wonderful Dining Experience

My wife and I recently visited the Grand Cypress Hyatt. We had cocktails in the lobby bar (also excellent) and then made our way to Hemmingway's for dinner. What a delightful surprise awaited us. Nice atmosphere, good food

I would recommend the place for group gatherings, or romantic date. Its upscale, great service, wonderful atmosphere, beautiful view, very friendly host, quiet music , food was good. We really liked aged steak and cream brûlée. Chef special of halibut fish was a little disappointing...and too salty. Tart with pears - would not recommend- pear feels to be undercooked. Last 2 points are the only reasons I gave 4 instead of 5.More

Great Dinner

Wow yum

Ate here with my father based on reviews. Wonderful! Service was excellent. Calamari is a must! Paella was good. Fennel rolls were divine! Environment is also lovely but acoustics in the last room overlooking the pool has a lot of echo. I’d avoid that room.

Hemingway's is a different restaurant than LakeHouse with a different theme and food focus. They are in different locations on the property--LakeHouse on the lower level of the hotel and Hemingway's in a beachy cottage on... More
