Hamburger Mary first visit

A group of us from our 55+ community heard about Hamburger Mary's planning a visit. We went on a Friday evening for dinner and entertainment. I had heard it was men dressed as women entertaining us. This is tastefully done. The men in drag have beautiful costumes, wigs, and makeup. They lipsink to well-known songs and walk among the tables. Patrons give dollar bills to them as they come near. It was a safe place for both gays and straights. We enjoyed our evening.

Visited Hamburger Mary during the pandemic to enjoy an afternoon snack, plenty of social distancing and hand sanitizer available when you first enter. Outdoor tables are available. Food is spot on and service is excellent. Great place to visit if you are in the Church Street District of Orlando. Jolly Chriss.

A MUST visit in Orlando

From the moment we walked through the door we all had a brilliant time, the staff , food and entertainment were all amazing, really first class. We went to see Leah Shannon’s Illusions In Revue, it was for my birthday, we went as a family for part of our trip to Orlando from Ireland. The restaurant is Downtown which is a short trip from international drive, we actually got the Lynx bus 38 to Central Station which is a short walk to the restaurant and worth it to see the real Orlando. It most certainly was the highlight of our trip to Orlando , and honestly the best birthday I’ve ever had. It’s left us with great memories. If you like good food , service and entertainment then make this place part of your trip.

I enjoyed the show BUT the service is very S_L_O_W! Took 30 mins for the food to get to us The waiters wore masks nobody else wore a mask the seating was not comfortable. The booth they put us in had no back to it was not happy with that , the taco salad was very good it filled me up. Parking is not easy to find found a garage to park in for$6.00 I was gone for 2 hours. Will not be going back.

Not great service but excellent food

When we walked in, there was no one to greet us and no one at the hostess stand. None of the waiters acknowledged us either. A group of 6 people was hanging around the hostess stand, as if they were leaving. Maybe the staff thought we were leaving with them, even though we hadn't been there for the entire meal. Then after a few minutes, a guy said a hostess will be with us in a minute. Then a few minutes later, a hostess came by and led us to a table. So, not a great start. I looked at menu on their website before we arrived and had decided on the "Pilgrim" burger with stuffing and cranberry sauce. When I looked at the menu in the restaurant, the burger wasn't listed. I asked the waitress about this and she said they stopped serving it. So, they need to update their online menu to match the actual menu. I got the "Mac Daddy", which is macaroni and cheese on the burger. The burger itself was nicely cooked, but I don't think the macaroni and cheese really added anything. I couldn't really taste the texture of the macaroni, and the cheese wasn't very strong. And the bun seemed like an average bun that any place would service. The french fries were very good. My wife got the Korean burger and loved it. She even said that she doesn't usually order burgers when we go out, but she tried this and she definitely recommends it. We also got the fried pickle chips and like the fries, they were very good also. When we asked for the check, the waitress brought it to us in a shoe. I don't remember if it was an actual shoe or a plastic replica, but it was a cute touch.

Very disappointing!

Very disappointing! I ordered the veggie wrap and have to say that at least they should’ve tried making it look like they put some effort. You could tell that they basically open a bag of mix garden salad bag and dropped it on the flour tortilla and then put some dressing. The beer selection could be better compare to the bars around. Then we had to call someone so we can get charged because the waiter never came back!

4/21/22; We got their somewhat early, about 5:30ish before the Journey Concert but were told it was a one hour wait, 30 minutes later we were seated. I got a mug of beer ($5,00) on Happy hour and a cheese burger which was very good, plus great onion rings ($14.75 for both). You pay for side items. My wife got a Blue Boy Burger and sweet fries ($16.20)

First time coming here after hearing so much about it. I went with the Proud Mary Burger sans bun or fries (gotta lose the weight I gained on vacation) and broccoli as a substitute for the fries. This was a hard decision to make because I love seasoned fries. I ended up getting some of the seasoning on the side for the broccoli. The Proud Mary is one pound, so I'm glad I didn't get the bun. Someone in my party got the pretzel bun and said it was very good. The quality of the burger was very good also. The service was very good. My meal was a little pricey but that was because I substituted the fries for the broccoli and I do believe that my burger was the most expensive item on the menu. The only problem you'll encounter is parking, but you can say that about just any establishment downtown.

Service was okay but nothing special. Food was mediocre, there were a fair amount of gluten free choices - I chose the chicken and specifically made it clear I was ordering off the gluten free menu but when the dish arrived it came with a source, I checked if it was gluten free and got the response ‘it’s our normal teriyaki glaze’ any chef should know teriyaki is not gluten free and this could have had fairly grim consequences if I hadn’t checked. The dish reappeared and was really fairly poor. Everyone else ordered a burger which was average. Wouldn’t go back but was an emergency find before the basketball.

Solid Pre-Game Option

If you want a bite to eat before hitting a Magic game, Mary’s is a solid option. They did a very nice job moving us through before the Magic game last night. The food itself was very good. We stayed with burgers figuring that a spot with “Hamburger” in the title serves a good one. I opted for the Black Jack burger and it was a winner. Would get it again.

Now I have never gotten around to seeing a show at Hamburger Mary's but just based on the food and service alone this place is excellent in my book. I have only been for lunches during the work week but have always had a great meal with attentive service. So throw a show on top of that and you've got yourself a great night out!

Interesting restaurant

Had drinks and appetizers here the night before the Camping World Bowl. My son and I were seated at a long table, like a school cafeteria. The waiter was very helpful in helping us make our decisions. The appetizers were hot and tasty and the beers cold and delicious. The only down side was the cafeteria style seating, there were tables and booths if we had asked, so I can't blame the host, I was just kind of shocked we weren't asked where we would like to sit.

Went for the Broadway Brunch

Went for the Broadway Brunch Show. The show was entertaining and enjoyable. The service left a lot to be desired. We had reservations after we were already seated the host came up and asked us to move which was totally uncalled for and unprofessional. The server really didn’t do much I had to call him back to even get our order and he only checked on us once during the entire we were there.

I`m a little late with this review, but we went for the Broadway Brunch in November and absolutely loved it. Many thanks to John who very kindly booked it for us as we are from the UK and saved us calling. Erick looked after us and he was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly too, the whole experience was warm and friendly from start to finish. The food was excellent, we had the Nashville Hottie sandwich and my husband had the Eye Opener breakfast, both were amazing and the cocktails were a very good pour with lots of choice. The show was incredible, loved the ladies and the gent too who danced alongside the ladies and chatted to the guests on stage, he was very good too, but those ladies are phenomenal and we absolutely loved everthing about the show. We plan to come back in September and we definitely want to come back and do one of the other shows! Thank you we had a blast!!!

Red stilettos

I liked the vegetarian tacos. They were light & tasty. I also thought it was fun that the checks are delivered in red stilettos. What I didn't care for was the seating. We were seated in a section that had large, heavy ottomans with no back rests. It was rather uncomfortable.
