I am an admirer of good food, I consider good food to be the one in which the taste translates care, good ingredients, a good recipe and just the right amount of spices. in this case, tavern opa delivers all this in a pleasant environment...with attentive people and for a fair price. I SUGGEST, INDICATE AND RECOMMEND Let’s try travelers Official Evaluation 9.75 CongratsMore

Googled and found this restaurant.   Located in a mall strip.   Had to pay for parking.   Prompt service.   I got the Pastitsio and it was delicious!  For dessert I got baklava and ice cream.   Great lunch.   Fair pricing.   Nice clean restaurant.

We have been to Greece several times and are always looking for authentic Greek food. The food was delicious and authentic. We ordered several mezes for happy hour. The keftedas were especially good. Friendly staff and good prices.

If you want to listen to dance music at dinner at 6:00 with your family, it is a great place. We couldn't hear each talk across the table. Service was terrible. Servers were walking around with plates of food asking tables if it was their...order. Food was pretty good though.More

We're sorry to see that the service did not meet your expectations, or ours! We are definitely known for our loud & lively atmosphere, but we hope you will consider joining us during lunch or happy hour for a more laidback experience sometime!

The wait staff were very good and professional. My husband ordered the calamari as an appetizer and that was the only edible and tasty part of our meal. My filet medallions were absolutely tasteless and tough. They actually appeared to be sirloin in texture, flavor...and appearance. My husband had the slow roasted lamb. It had the texture of dry pot roast. This was the absolute worst $94 meal either of us have ever had. It’s evident this restaurant isn’t here for return, local customers. It can only survive off of tourists.More

This is our go-to stop every time we are in the Orlando area. The food is spectacular and truly tastes like you are back in Greece. The desserts are equally good so save some room! The evenings are fun with the entertainment but they can...be very loud.More

This was our first visit. Because of the congested area due to a variety of restaurants, we used the valet parking in front of the restaurant ($12.00) instead of the parking garage behind it. The restaurant is huge. Reservations recommended. The food was very tasty....Service was very attentive despite the huge crowd. The belly dancer performance appealed to our grandkids. She tried to teach them arm movements. It is very loud.More

Arrived our first day at Hyatt and wanted to grab late lunch outside hotel. Got the Happy Hour menu 3-6pm every day. Got hummus, tzatziki, spanakopita, keftedes and 2-1 beer and wine. All items were yummy - home made hummus chunky and the tzatziki out...of this world. Highly recommend.More

I visited Taverna Opa with a delegation of marine hotel professionals. We were greeted on a terrace outside the taverna entrance and were served delicious finger foods including beef kebabs and empanadas, although neither are Greek fare. The service was efficient and friendly. Once inside...the Greek-look taverna we were served a lovely selection of Greek foods. There was so much food, but alas! the attention to cooking was not there as all fish and much of the meat was overcooked. That said, it was still tasty. So, why a rating of only 3 out of a possible 5? Blame the musicians. They played their rousing Greek music so loud that the sound was distorted from the huge speaks around the room. Nobody could even talk to the people sitting either side of them without shouting. My ears kept popping and whenever the racket subsided I was left with ringing in my ears. Greek music is loud, raucous, fun and much expected in such an establishment, but what kind of musician keeps bashing on with the distorted sound emanating from the speakers? Clearly the 'music' was no longer tuneful due to the noise being utterly excessive. I am surprised the health and safety brigade have not had something to say. I would neither return nor recommend this place purely on the grounds of the noise being an abuse to the senses.More

The restaurant is located on the second floor. It has outdoor seating and a big dining room, sugar shack style. They have live music and a belly dancer that performs for the guests. We started with a few appetizers, and everything was delicious. We ordered...the lemon chicken, moussaka, and the surf and turf; all good choices. We also had a dessert; their famous loukoumades were a generous portion and very good. I liked the show and the atmosphere, people were dancing on tables and having a great time.More

The food is really great. First impressions were that it was a failed Mexican restaurant that went Greek. The decor was Sudo greek Mexican with Greek and putbull Latino music. I liked it. The gyros were fantastic and fries. The appetizers were good and the...falafel is excellent. I was disappointed with the hummus. I really didn’t like smashing my own hummus. Not a lot of quantity and gritty. However the men at the table loved it. It’s a personal preference. I would try something else. Unless you want a make your own hummus lesson. The calamari was very good and fresh, crispy calamari. I would go back. The entertainment was hilarious. The belly dancer was really animated and she looked more like a Disney mermaid. I thought that she was a Disney dancer reject from the auditions. The men loved it. Some drunk horny dad was dancing on the tables with her. His family watched him gyrate with the Disney mermaid belly dancer. The men at our table were very intrigued and said that they would do the same with her. Hmmm. Families were happy and having a great time so entrainment is pretty funny and I recommend sitting outside if the noise level is too much. Overall very busy and great food, with Disney mermaid belly dancing that basically makes your men think they can dance on the tables. Really even women dance on the tables with her and it looks like fun. Hopefully you don’t fall under the spell of the Disney mermaid belly dancer as those poor unfortunate souls.More

Came here for Orlando magical dining. It was a great experience. Food was very good. The flamed cheese that they light on fire at your table was lots of fun. Only down side was the falafel. It was not seasoned very well but everything else...was good. The woman who was dancing there was very nice. She asked each table to dance as well but never made you feel like you had to. Lots of fun and good food.More
