Everything we ordered they said they didn’t have. We ended up with burgers. We asked for medium and they were well done and dry. We asked for ketchup and they told us they keep it in the back. Not a good experience!

We stopped on our way through town. Nice and clean inside. The person behind the counter was friendly and helpful. Looking at the menu, we thoughts the prices were a little steep, we were trusting the good reviews on TripAdvisor. We are very glad we...tried this place. We split the 'Q for Two. It came with 4 St. Louis style ribs that were fall off the bone tender and tasty, a generous portion of chopped and tender brisket, another generous portion of juicy pulled pork, two pieces of garlic bread, two sides (the green beans were my favorite! and coleslaw was a bit sweet with slices of apples in it). We also ordered a side garden salad since we didn't know the portion sizes. We drank our normal water and our bill was a pleasant $22.00, and we were very full. We will definitely stop in again on our next trip through the area! Definitely recommend!More
try their brisket its so smokey and delicious. mac and cheese is pretty good, pretty slow inside usually
Expensive BBQ. 17 bucks for a pulled pork sandwich sides and drink. Food is ok but for that price I would expect more than a cheap hamburger bun. They can call it a toasted brioche all they want....still won’t change the fact that it was...a wonder bread bun. I HATE the way you have to order. 2.50 for a drink that I have to pour myself and then food is brought to table. It’s like fast food ordering at a sit down price. They have a unique menu, which is cute and all but don’t expect people to sit there and stare at a chalkboard wall and figure out what your made up definitions of food are all the while your being stared at by someone just wanting you to give them your order and not hold up the line. Do you tip? IDK. You pay ahead of time so you couldn’t anyway. Not to mention they were out of several drinks from the fountain. I remember eating at the one in crystal river and it was much better experience. Could really be a good place but need to change the whole layout and ordering mess.More
DH and I visited because we had a gift certificaate. So glad we did. We shared a combo meal, chicken brisket, & ribs. All were moist and well seasoned. Famous apple cole slaw was the best! Service excellent and helpful with assisti g 1st time...customers. We will be back.More
We had passed the restaurant and could smell the wonderful barbecue smell coming from the chimney. We made a note to go there for dinner one time..that was yesterday. Not a fancy place, but neat and tidy. My gal and I like baby back ribs....That's what we ordered and were truly amazed at how great they are. The sides of french fries and coleslaw were also excellent. The ribs were so tender the fell off the bones. We were told that unlike other rib places, the Hardwood Smokehouse barbecue there own right on premises...they don't buy them from a supplier and then just heat them up...These are "from scratch ribs" and they are outstanding. Karen, the General Manager is super friendly and helpful..just a pleasant surprise to find a truly great, local rib place...we will return many time. (by the way, the portions are HUGE!)More
The title of this will make sense when you see where the restuarnat is located and also when you walk in. The resturant is located within a strip mall at the end. When you walk in you will notice that it is counter table service....Meaning that you order your food at a counter and then they deliver the food to your table. The food was very good. 4 choices of Bar-B-Que sauce. Only having four was nice insted of 15 were your taste buds cannot decipher. This was a great find while I was in Ocala. Please check out this place if you want just a quite dinner without a lot of fanfare. One other thing, the staff is very nice as well. I am joking type person and they had no issues with this and they also gave the jokes back. Really cool.More
We were going to Big Lee's off maricamp rd but it was 3 pm and they had sold out of most items. Remembered Hardwood from searching BBQ restaurants. Decided to give it a try. We had the q for 2. Very good. Baked beans were...excellent. Serve hoecakes but prefer cornbread. They do not have happy hour or draft beer but price was still reasonable. Usually both my wife and I have an after taste when eating smoked bbq. It did not happen this time. There was plenty of food and tasted very good. THE ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE TEMPERATURE OF THE FOOD. IT COULD HAVE BEEN HOTTER. If it had been I would have given a five.More
We stopped in after a camping trip had a pork sandwich and brisket and they were delicious we also had macaroni and cheese french fries and the beans for our side and they were all hot and good $10 for a sandwich aside and a...drink was a good bang for your buck.More
The food is excellent beyond belief, I can't wait to visit again. The Babyback Ribs are done with a rub so the flavoring is mouth watering. The entire meal gave my mouth a huge party, Thank you so much!
