As newish residents of The Villages and frequent travelers to Paris, we were thrilled to find La Cuisine! We have dined there twice since the restaurants were re-opened and loved both dinners and our attentive servers. The country style pate and Lyonnaise salads were great...starters although I miss the traditional Frisee lettuce instead of spring greens. Perfect pork shank, wonderful roast chicken and the champignons Farci...Ooh la la! We could have made a meal of the delicious ratatouille side dish and the souffles were the perfect finale.More
It's been awhile since we've been here and I really don't know why. On our anniversary we had a 5:30 reservation, was greeted with enthusiasm and taken to a nice table on their deck. Our server Joe was attentive, knowledgeable and was there when needed....I had the grouper which was excellent, it was a generous portion served with choice of side and I chose the truffle mashed potatoes. My husband chose the stuffed mushroom which had the most delicious smokey flavor, he paid the extra for the old fashion macaroni and it was a large tasty portion that we brought more than half home. The owner gave us a complimentary dessert, chocolate fondant, yummy. If you've never been here before,.....treat yourself.More
There are a couple of other contenders, but for my money this is the best restaurant in Ocala. The food is consistently good and interesting. Foie grad was outstanding. Both salads (duck and Nicoise) were large and very good. Duck not too fatty. Excellent anchovies....Scallops were a little too salty, but good. Excellent service and atmosphere. Very nice evening.More
A,wats look forward to dining here ... the French country cuisine is fabulous. The same is true for service, ambience, etc. prices reflect the quality of food, presentation, and ambience. Owners are great Ocala citizens and deserve your support.
Me and my wife decided to try La Cuisine for a date night after looking over the menu. We wanted to try everything and arill do. Started with pate and steak tartar. Both were amazing. The portion of tartar was large and only barely seasoned,...letting the ingredient shine. The scallops were recommended by the server and were sweet and melted in your mouth, served in a pepper cream sauce with celery root. Duck was served over a zesty orange sauce and aas perfectly cooked. We had the dessert specials, five herb sorbet and honey mint creme brulee. Both were delicious with espresso.More
Wanted something different for our anniversary, so we drove 50 minutes to dine at La Cuisine. It was amazing.
I ordered the Rack of Lamb with the Ratatouille as a side. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and prepared to the requested temperature. It was a...delightful dish. The ratatouille vegetables were flavorful and prepared to the right consistency, avoiding the “soggy” texture I have found in other places. We asked for olive oil instead of butter and it was the right choice. She ordered the sous-vide half chicken which was cooke in a tasty broth then perfectly seared to a very appealing golden color. It was tasty and quite moist. She also had the ratatouille.
Their wine selection is good, you will find a good choice on the list.More
I was looking forward to the escargot, but found them very unimpressive. The steak tartar had good flavor and was served well. We had the salmon, a pork and a beef entre and they were all good with small side dishes. The soups were also...good. Service was a bit slow even though the place was empty. It was nice and quiet and perfect for conversation. I will give it a second chance.More
