Run don’t walk to Escargot Bistro. Finally decided to check out Escargot Bistro based on many five star reviews. They were right. This is a little gem sitting in a small strip mall on Commercial Blvd. in Oakland Park (near Thai Spice).
When you walk in to this small restaurant (10 tables), you are immediately transported to a village in France. The owners, a husband and wife team, Didier and Andrea, couldn’t be more welcoming. Very gracious and accommodating. Award winning Chef Jacques is in the kitchen. Upon being seated we ordered two glasses of wine, Pinot Noir and Rosé. Perfect. We both opted for the Escargot Traditional for apps. Expertly prepared with just the right amount of garlic. Entrées were 1/2 Canard (duck) a l’orange prepared confit style (braised in its own fat over a long period of time). There was a concern that the skin would not be crispy but Didier explained that after braising they roast it in the oven to get the skin crispy. He was right. I opted for the Cuisses de Grenouille (frog’s legs). This was served sautéed Provençal style which is with parsley, garlic and butter with a light breading. Perfectly sweet and tender. A real treat for those who love frog’s legs.
Andrea makes all of the desserts. My wife had the Crepe Banana Split and I opted for the house-made pineapple sorbet which was a special. Both excellent.
I didn’t include any photos because they are in abundance on the internet. Escargot Bistro was such a lovely experience that we plan to return often ... so should you.

Happened here almost by accident and now kicking myself for all the meals I missed before tonight. Such a refreshingly different place compared to the typical SoFla options. The restaurant is in a non-descript mall but once inside the food, service and fun banter with the owners makes this a repeat and repeat again experience. The food is fantastic. It's not just escargot. The menu is varied and everything we had was delicious. Will be making this a regular stop and you should too.

This little gem of a restaurant, tucked into the corner of a strip mall, is authentically French. We love to come here for lunch, and have enough food to last us the day. The owners are genuine experts in hospitality and made us feel so very welcome. EXCELLENT food, perfectly prepared and timed.

This was our first time at Escargot, and we will be back! This truly felt like a little piece of France in the middle of Oakland Park. The greeting & staff were wonderfully French, and we all felt like we were transported for the time we spent here for lunch. My girlfriend and I had Escargot; I had "Traditional", and she had the Au Gratin; both were delicious! Husband's had sandwiches they truly enjoyed. My husband is very particular about french fries, but these were the best he has had since we were in Amsterdam and the salads were fresh, light and delicious as well. Our starter was the French Onion Soup... again... delicious! If you are looking for GREAT food in a charming and "French" get-a-way atmosphere... give it a try. You will be happy you did! Lunch is 11:30am to 2pm, Dinner starts at 5.00pm. Reservations are advisable.

Four of us had heard about this restaurant and decided to try it out. To our happy surprise our decision was rewarded! The dining area was COCID-19 safe and very welcoming. We were greeted by Didier with his warmth and lovely French accent, took our table and voila! The lunch menu had a wide selection at a reasonable price. The quality of the food presented to us was excellent. Escargots, crepes, and sandwiched were devoured with delight. The seductive desserts were very satisfying!! We also met Andrea, who does the cooking and she too was delightful. Didier managed the dining area with expertise and calm, never losing his sense of humor and treating each patron as if all were equally important to him. We will return very soon.

Escargot Bistro was the perfect spot to celebrate our 49h anniversary. I'll get the negative out of the way...parking. Or I should say, lack of parking. Escargot Bistro is located in a small strip shopping center the parking is horrible.
Ok, now on to the restaurant. From the time we stepped into the front door my husband and I felt like we could have been in one of the many small restaurants you find in Paris and throughout France. Escargot Bistro is small, 9 tables inside and a few outside. The decor is highlighted by red leather chairs, which, by the way, are very comfortable for leisurely dinners.
Wife and husband team work seamlessly to make your evening a total delight. I started with the Escargot Tradition. Many American restaurant's drown the escargot in way too much garlic..Excargot Bistro has discovered that less is more.
My entree was PEI mussels complimented by crusty french bread. I would happily order both items again.
My husband started with the escargot augratin, and just like the traditional his snails were cooked to perfection. The highlight of his evening was his Foie gras entree. Tender, warmed through, just perfect!
To complete our anniversary celebration we order Crepe Suzette. Although they don't do the entire preparation at your table, they do flambee the lovely crepes tableside for your enjoyment.
Escargot Bistro is a perfect example of a local restaurant that needs our help. We need to keep these "mom and pop" establishments open and thriving. Covid 19 has turned our lives upside down. Now with the vaccine we can feel safe spreading our wings a little more. I highly recommend Escargot Bistro.

In my view, it is hard not to like this restaurant. Probably the driving force are the two owners with a cheery demeanor that treat customers like long lost family in a genuine way. It does not hurt to have good food which they do often with an extra twist. For example, a butternut squash soup had a dash of cream and cheese for added flavor. I tried the scallops with rice and the dish had an enticing sauce that sent me looking for some of their bread to soak up the last morsels. The restaurant has a warm personalized French cafe feel. The only downside is the parking which is tough and that it is located in a dingy strip mall, but that is the curse of South Florida.

Escargot Bistro continues to be tops amongst Broward County fine dining options. From the moment you walk in the door and receive a warm greeting from the host and immerse yourself in the distinctly French, escargot themed dining room you know you are in for a treat. Everything we’ve eaten on the menu has been simply magnificent. Everything, including all the desserts is lovingly prepared by the wife in this Husband/Wife operated gem. Call for a reservation as you likely won’t get in without one.

L’escargo is an authentic French Bistro hidden in a small shopping plaza that offers well-executed cuisine, a fine wine list for all budgets, charming setting inside and patio, and lovely service. We had breakfast one morning at Parisienne by the Sea and the owner, Valerie, recommended this place for lunch. It was quite a treat! For appetizers we had the pate and it was perfectly seasoned. The my husband ordered the fish and i got the Escargots Tradition full of flavor, tender with lots of garlic. It was probably the best i’ve ever had. My husband loved the fish prepared with Moroccan spices and vegetables. For desert we tried the creme brulee and it was perfect , as well as, the Strawberry Crepe. They were absolutely delicious! We were so impressed with the food that we went back the following day for dinner, and this time we brought our son, a very picky eater who cooks his own meals every day. He had the Caesar salad and then Le Classic Steak Frites. He enjoyed every single bite. I and my husband share a Steak Tartar that was exquisite, followed by Foie gras, fish of the day, and for desert Crepe Suzette and Chocolate mousse. The food was paired with red French wine recommended by Didier and Sparkling wine for desert. The food was sublime and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic French food.

We met another couple for dinner and dined outside. The service is professional while being friendly. We all felt very welcome.
The food is delicious. Our friends loved the French Onion Soup. Three of us had escargot: one traditional, one in a puff pastry and one in eggs. All were wonderful.
One friend is vegetarian and had no problem ordering. We shared a pleasant bottle of a French Pinot Noir and finished with each couple sharing fantastic desserts made on the premises: one chocolate cake and a goat cheese filled crepe.
Our friends were very pleased with the value of the meal. We had already dined multiple times at Bistro Escargot.
All are looking forward to returning.

Tried this wonderful bistro tucked away in a corner of a strip mall making it a very private location. Four of us ate different choices and all were fabulous. Of course the escargot (5 different choices) were the star of the show. My husband had the duck a l'orange and found it just to his liking. Our friend had steak frites and while the steak was exceptional, the frites were enjoyed by all of us. Finished off the meal with the homemade chocolate mousse done differently by Andrea and it was delish. Can't wait to return to this charming establishment and be welcomed so warmly by Didier.

We both had the escargot..a perfect texture in a light sauce
We had the steak tartar prepared at the table by the owner. You have a chance to tasted before he serves it to you so that he can adjust the seasoning to your
taste. Divine
We have the a savory chicken crepe "Oh La La" with spinach and mushroom in a bechamel sauce... delicious and not heavy...
The wine list is just the right selection. We have a great experience and will be back on a regular basis.

I must admit that this was my first visit with a really good friend (Russell/ Doug ) and my roommate (Cary). The welcome friendly, atmosphere quaint, food fabulous, price reasonable. Service outstanding by Didier and cooking : his wife . Highly recommend this small quaint bistro, yes parking may be considered a negative but just ask Didier he will provide options.
Each of us have restaurant experience.

Atmosphere created by the owners is very friendly and warm. Cozy bistro, unlike all those big chain restaurants. Great personal service and varied menu. The escargots are a must and regardless of the choice, excellent. Only 4/5 rating because the sauces are too concentrated and overwhelm the mains. The onion soup base has great depth, but again overpowering in my opinion. The duck is amazing, so crispy skinned, juicy and tender. Crepes are prepared in advance and not that special. Had a great Haut Medoc wine that was reasonably priced. I'll come back for the escargots, duck and wine. Then I'll hopefully find other great dishes.

Regarding the crepes, we do prepare the crepe mix in advance every morning and we add the ingredients just before to serve them.

Everything we had was exceptional. We got the butternut squash soup with chunks of blue cheese, 2 different escargot the traditional and house specialty, the duck ala' lorange, and the special of the day which was a sol fish in a lemon sauce. I can not wait to return! The husband and wife who own it are very sweet and attentive.
