The food was great. The drinks were awesome. Our waitress was fantastic. Her name was amber. The wine list was decent. The manager of the restaurant was nasty. She was so nasty that I thought about just walking out. The lady who greeted us and...Jasmine were super nice.More

I cannot say enough good things about the service we received. From the moment we walked in and until we left the service was top notch. This restaurant was very clean and upscale looking compared to other restaurants in Captiva. I had the bagel steak...sandwich and I could not have been happier with my meal. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and it was nice to have a quiet meal to ourselves.More

My wife and I picked this place for our 34th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. Service was great! Food was awesome. My wife loved the shrimp cocktail which had a unique spin on it and I loved the warm Caprese salad with a...pesto sauce. Very clean, nicely set table. Nice ambience.More

Three of us dined and we all enjoyed our entrées. I had the jumbo prawns with lobster risotto and it was delicious. Another diner had the wedge salad and enjoyed it. The third diner had the Gruyere Chicken Fettucine and loved it too. Service and...ambiance were great.More

Menu and atmosphere upscale…pricey, But good food. We overheard other servers, say”welcome to Captiva House, my name is xxxx, I’ll be your server, the specials are xxxxx”. Our server, none of that. Hardly saw her after the order…had to ask for water to be refilled,...etc. Not much personality, not friendly at all. Also, some idiot in tee shirt, with baseball cap on the whole dinner. $50-$60+ meals. must not have had a mother to teach him manners in a nice restaurant.More

The breakfast food was delicious! Some of the best pancakes and french toast. The omelettes and egg benedict’s were all good. Our waitress was super kind and gave good suggestions. My only suggestion would be to include a child’s menu. Paying $10 for a plate...of pancakes or $10 for french toast for a three year and five year old ( way too much food) seems a bit excessive.More

We enjoyed the omelets for breakfast. Also tried the breakfast hash which had shrimp in it and was very tasty. Also can't go wrong with the key lime pie!

What a pity I can’t give this restaurant five stars. The food, while inconsistent, is more good than not. The ambience and staff are lovely and attentive. The wine list is shameful. I understand the food and beverage manager is French. If so, it is...clear he condescends to offer wines catering to the lowest American common denominator. Only one uninspiring Provence rose and no whites from France. A couple crappy, overpriced Italian options round off the Old World list. If this doesn’t change and we can’t rely on a decent wine with an upscale dinner, we will not return. Oh, and don’t tell me the Sancerre crops have failed; there are ample affordable Chablis and Bourgogne Blancs that have soared during this period.More

Located at the Tween Waters Island Resort, Old Captiva House is one of the best restaurants we found on Captiva Island. Due to some renovation here and at the Crow's Nest next door, parking was a challenge and draft beers were unavailable. We still had...a wonderful dinner. The staff, especially our waiter, Tony, were very attentive. We started our dinner outside, but were brought indoors when the skies looked threatening. The Grouper with mushrooms and lump crab salsawas delicious and the Chilean Sea Bass with a creamy polenta was amazing. While one of the priciest meals we've had one Captiva, dinner at Old Captiva House was also one of our favorites.More

We stayed at Tween Waters, so had breakfast and dinner here, and did takeout too. Unfailingly helpful, cheerful and friendly staff (and yes, they were short-handed -- we saw servers here who had worked the pool earlier in the day and yet were professional and...unfrazzled.) Really lovely atmosphere -- their covered patio with big ceiling fans is one of the most appealing outdoor spots in all Sanibel/Captiva, with amazing sunset views. Our meals here were delicious -- not over-cooked as we experienced in other higher-priced restaurants.More

The minute we stepped in the door, we loved the ambiance. It was clearly recently updated. The décor was beach casual, very appropriate, of course. We sat on what I would call a sunporch at a table that was well spaced. Our waitress was delightful...and knowledgeable. We all had to try the shrimp sausage, which was very unusual and very tasty. The also serve an excellent bloody Mary. We were not happy with the resort we stayed at, so if I was to return to Captiva I would certainly check out this resort, because if the restaurant is any indication of the rest of the property, we would love it.More
