Another season, and time to visit Capt Eddies a few times for the stone crabs. We had the colossals cold with the cucumber salad and rings. Fantastic!!! New this year is a more cheerful, engaged, make the customer comfortable and happy attitude....very noticeable and well received. The stone crab is fresh and delicious!! Thanks Captain!

Tried Hog Fish! Was tasty! Coming from New England I would compare it to our haddock. Very casual and comfortable restaurant wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would go back when we return to the area.

We were looking for a restaurant to bring our "catch of the day" while in Venice. Sally is manager of Captain Eddie's and was more than helpful over the phone in making that happen for us. Our fish was prepared to the utmost satisfaction ... with even some helpful suggestions ... and made an excellent meal. We highly recommend!

Located on the east side of Tamiami Trail at Colonia in Nokomis, you can't miss it. Fresh seafood, good choice of sides, desserts that sound wonderful. We didn't order dessert. The portions were quite generous, served hot, and definitely tasty. Beers on tap or by the bottle. Wine by the glass or bottle. Prices definitely reasonable.

I'm gluten intolerant and even ordering the grilled fish my stomach didn't feel so great. Everything that looked good on the menu was fried. It's nothing fancy but decent food if you don't have any allergies.

Good food, worth the drive from Sarasota. Prices that everyone can enjoy. Sit outside at the bar comes with the local celebrity bird watching your every move. I had the coconut shrimp and had their special sauce on it. Wow. Everyone liked what they had. We took home some key lime pie too!

As of right now and with 25+ years living in Sarasota, I would have to claim this as the best, freshest and consistently best local seafood in town. The service is always great, the location is always clean and wether you are buying seafood to go from the market, fish dip or stone crab claws; or dining inside, at the... More

We enjoyed an excellent fresh fish dinner with the family at Captain Eddies. Menu selection was good, fish was SO fresh, service was great. We sat outside near the bar and the crowd was mixed. We would sit inside with the family next time.

We have been going to this restaurant since 1993, off and on..Its been about three years since I wrote a review on Captain Eddie's..My last review said that they had a few bad years after Eddie and Jane split but that they were improving and we were going back again after having given up because of poor food and high...
