Nothing too fancy, but really good seafood. Atmosphere is nice and casual. Food is really good and fresh, lots of fried and broiled choices. Service is usually good but can be hit or miss. Friday night it was very good. I always like the combinations where I get several kinds of seafood, clams, scallops, and grouper cheeks this week. Only... More

Took my elderly parents people were friendly and patience but the food was mediocre. We had hoped to bring home some fresh seafood but it was way over priced.

Everybody who visits Venice or Nokomis eats at this restaurant at least once. Full service bar and restaurant with many people and many servers. Seafood is fresh and available in small market section. Food seems fairly well prepared but the presentation is lacking in finesse. Servers are very busy and can get involved with one table and ignore three others.... More

Ordered the Admiral platter and the Combo dinner. Both portions were very small and overpriced. The food of both platter were cold and the presentation was terrible. Both entrees were served on a tacky plastic platter. The crab cake was made of dark crab meat and disgusting. Tasted horrible and cold. The breaded flounder fillet was over cooked and the... More

I liked the outside dining. The food was good, and the service was good, but the waitress had a few mistakes on the bill, and it took a lengthy time to straighten it out.

Captain Eddie's has been around awhile and has always had a decent reputation for its food and service, but it seems both are starting to slip. The food was not bad, but it wasn't anything special, either. It was a cut above Long John Silver, for sure, but we are not inclined to take out-of-town guests there, like we used... More

We ate here on our first night in the area. The food was good as was the service. However, there was so much noise that we had trouble talking to each other.

Pretty ordinary food but good service. I had fried platter, wife had coconut shrimp. Black bean salad and sweet potato and raisin casserole were just average.

Used to be better. Had a grouper sandwich the other day, small filet, 2 ounces or so, Grilled, no real taste. Better choice, CrabHouse across 41, about one block South.

My wife and I went there recently to get stone crab. The place wasn't really busy yet and we were immediately seated and our server greeted us. The service was good & attentive. Our order was quickly prepared and was quite good. Stone crab is not cheap but this place charges a fair price for what you receive. We like... More
