I eat at Mama Leone's about once a month, usually for the early bird menu, which runs until 7pm off season and 5:30pm during season (January to April). I usually get the Pollo Romana, which has a tomato sauce with mushrooms, olives, and artichokes over a chicken breast. You also get a side salad and some pasta with sauce, all... More

We've been to Mama Leone's several times, each time a good experience. This time we took 4 friends along, promising them great Italian. How disappointed we were. The only thing that wasn't average, or less, was the service.

Been several times. Always had good food. Homemade so takes a bit longer to get food. Prices are a little bit higher, but not exorbitant. Has live music at times.

My husband and I took our daughters here for dinner a few nights ago. I'm Italian so I'm tough to impress... The calamari was a little bland but the sauce it came with was delicious! My husband had veal which I thought was outstanding. My daughter had chicken parmigiana which was s little thick and chewg. Their ravioli was OUTSTANDING... More

We took our visiting family to Mama Leone's for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The wait was about 10 minutes. The service was adequate (as in minimal). The food was acceptable (but did not stand out in anyway). The interior seating was basic and clean. The decor was spartan and perhaps re-purposed. All in all - not on our favorites... More

Good food, service and very nice atmosphere. I would recommend if you are looking for a nice Italian dinner. We had chicken parmigiana and penne, pepperoni pizza, kids ravioli and kids spaghetti with marinara.

We had a taste for a Caesar salad and pizza and decided to make a long-overdue visit to this neighborhood restaurant. We were so glad that we did! We enjoyed sharing a very lightly-dressed large Caesar salad as our "appetizer" Being from Chicago, we get so very tired of the typical floppy, often soggy, crumbled sausage NY-style pizza; and the... Had a great meal tonight on our last vacation night. Chicken palermo with artichokes, capers, mushroom, in a white wine sauce over penne pasta. Unbelievably good and too big of a portion to finish. Happy hour yielded two glasses of house pinot for price of one as well!

This is fine dining in a relaxed environment. I went in thinking I was under dressed and then inside I was more aware I was under dressed until I seen other guests dressed casual. Servers are in uniforms cloth napkins and table cloths. The decor is very elegant. Our server Michael did a very nice job and was very attentive.... More

While traveling back from the Sarasota National Cemetery and paying respects to loved ones, we took the long route down Hwy 41, Tamiami Trail we passed Mama Leones and made an immediate U-Turn. We had to try it. We were not disappointed. This is a "Mom & Pop" restaurant that has excellent décor, a staff that ensures your comfort and... More
