We came here to celebrate my dads birthday while vacationing in Destin. It was by far the best dinner we had during our stay. There were 7 of us, we had steaks, bourbon steak, pasta, grouper, everything was phenomenal. Service was also great and food...was out quick. Would definitely recommend!More
Tucked away in an odd spot in Niceville, this unassuming establishment is quite the place once you enter. Great atmosphere and vibe. We really enjoyed the Grouper Etouffee. So So So good! We went with friends for a date night and got salads, three different versions of fish, and some shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious! I don’t really care for grits in general and I LOVED them here. The service was good...and the atmosphere was pleasant. I’ll definitely be back!!!More
We just dined at Basil and Baxters - what a great experience! We started with the Shrimp Beignets - wonderful - but the highlight was our main courses - we had the Grouper Cadillac and the Grouper Risotto - what can I say - both...were outstanding!! So much flavor in the Grouper Risotto - and the risotto was cooked to perfection. The Grouper Cadillac - combination of Grouper, Shrimp Etoufee and Grits - how could you go wrong!! The wait staff is very attentive - service was excellent and Chef Michael even came out to greet us. Definitely be back again!!More

We found this cute restaurant from reviews while in the area. We had the Shrimp Hoagie and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both were very good, generous and filling! Service was excellent even tho they were busy. Bread pudding for dessert was good as well but...the drizzled chocolate sauce was overkill. We didn't imbibe as we were driving but good cocktail and wine selection. Prices were fair and moderate. Definitely a place I would recommend and eat at again...just to try all of their menu items!!!More

We had a reservation but with it being the busy season we had a small wait. The staff was very friendly and the gentleman at the podium was busy directing staff to get tables bussed and ready for the next wave. Our server was Tasha...was very nice and did a great job on helping us decide on what to try. My wife and I and our 2 adult son's enjoyed our choices very much. It is very roomy inside. It looks small from the outside but there were a lot of room inside the Restaurant. The location was a bit outside of Destin but they had reservations available and they were referred to us by someone whom visits Destin annually. You wont' be disappointed!!More

No fried, grilled, or steamed shrimp. Ask if they could do grilled shrimp...was surprised to find cajun spices on my grilled shrimp and fries. I have to say this was the sorriest shrimp ate on the Emerald Coast. As a local, we will NOT be...visiting this restaurant again....everMore
Delicious food. Amazing service. They are on open table and take reservations. 28 minute drive from Destin. It doesn't look like much from the parking lot, but inside is very nice and there are a lot of staff.
As others have said, don’t let the outside of this restaurant deter you from going in! I think a little effort on the owners part on the outside would go a long way! The food and service was outstanding! There were 6 of us dining...and we had 6 different entrees and everything was delicious! Our server was very attentive and added to the pleasant experience. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were terrific. If your ever in Niceville I recommend Basil and Baxter. You will be pleased and for such a great price.
