Worth a shot

We came as a family and was able to be seated together. You have some nice views of the ocean front and the ability to have the doors open when downstairs. They have a few wrinkles to work out. One should be a new bartender because a margarita is not the difficult to make and mine was very weak and uneventful for $14!! Glad I didn’t order a bucket. I’ll go down the road for one of those $5 more. My Ahi tuna steak was adequate, could use more seasoning. My husband and mother in law enjoyed the crab legs. My niece had the scallops and felt they were adequate as well (again more seasoning), and my father in law had the crabby combo fried and said it was fine. The waitress misunderstood a couple things on our order but the manager helped with the food mishap. The ice cream is outrageously priced and I wasn’t able to have mine because the freezer froze the chocolate chip. Maybe I’ll return next year when we visit NSB every year as we have been for 20+ years.

New Favorite Hangout Spot

Five stars all the way around. Bartender Joe was fast and friendly despite having a full bar and working solo (managers could be a little more attentive and give help when it’s needed…although Joe rocked it). Clementine Crush drink is my new favorite. And I believe they were donating part of the proceeds to a local charity. Hopefully they keep it on the menu, even if they don’t keep marketing it for charity. Was a little hesitant on ordering the pizza (New Yorker) since they are known for their seafood, but the pizza was great as well and priced just right. And to top it all off, the open view (upstairs bar) looking out at the ocean/beach was simply mesmerizing! Without a doubt my new favorite hangout, when I’m in the area.

This newly re-invented restaurant and bar overlooking the beach and ocean is both memorable for its food and service and its fantastic views and ambiance. The second floor open air bar and restaurant is what being on the beach at NSB is all about. My wife and I both had delish fish tacos, and our server James was just the right amount of attentive and helpful, and an overall charming guy who even took a moment to point out the dolphins playing in the surf just off the beach in front of the restaurant. Could not be better. Thanks James, and Thanks Crabby's on the beach in beautiful New Smyrna Beach, just off the Flagler strip.

Great location, but nothing else...

There have been several restaurants in this relative new build on a very expensive piece of real estate. The views are fine with excellent parking available on this ocean front property located off the main beach drag...Flagler Ave. I live six blocks away and this is my first time at any of the restaurants that have occupied the space. Previous attempts have been failures. Crabby's in maintaining that tradition. I arrived at 11:15 for a quick lunch. There are two levels. I decided I wasn't in the mood to go up the stairs. There is an elevator, but apparently you have to be granted permission to use it. I was led to a nice window table looking out directly on the Atlantic Ocean. I asked the hostess if the bar was open which is on the ground level. There was no bartender. She indicated she would get whatever beverage I wished although she did not know what beers were available on draft. I ordered a Stella bottle to be served in a cold glass. Sorry, we do not have glass glasses, only plastic. I thought it may be a safety issue, but other beachfront restaurants do use glass if requested. I had decided I was going to have the coconut shrimp appetizer for my lunch. It came out in a timely manner, but apparently somebody forgot the coconut. Just a bunch of over fried morsels sat in front of me with a small cup of sauce that also had no coconut flavor in my opinion. Total bill before tip came in at $18.00. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to the Breakers Restaurant, a tradition that has been in business for over 50 years in the same spot. Great food with a true beach atmosphere. AND they do have glass glasses.

We have been here before for dinner, it was good. We thought we would try their breakfast. I got Eggs Benedict and my husband ordered cheese omelette with sausage and home fries and an order of toast. When the toast came it had no butter and it was also one slice, we asked for butter which was hard as rock, try to put that on cold toast ugh. They charged us $1.99 for one slice of toast, I will say it was the most expensive breakfast I have had, $3.99 for a Pepsi and 3.99 for OJ. We saw the manager more than we saw the waitress. Will not go back

We came for lunch and found the menu was pricey as expected being where it is. Our orders were less than substanded with quality and quantity much less than expected. Had ordered a hamburger rare and it came out well done. Quality of spinach avacado shrimp salad was no more than a lit of spinach with little else in it. Waitress was great and attentive but this restaurant needs extra attention to what's getting served from the kitchen Lots of choices in the area and we would recommend looking elsewhere until they produce better

Soooo lots of local naysayers will never be happy. We are local and had to try for out our neighbor for ourselves. And we are so glad we did! First, we are during lunch on Biketoberfest weekend. The place was adequately staffed and ready to rumble! Lots of folks working together for great service. Second they had live music with a beautiful view. I call it karaoke but that’s ok. It was just fine! They had a great play list and seemed like decent people. Next up the food: rumors were it was just fried stuff. True. But other options too. We had three items: blackened grouper, bang bang shrimp and calamari over a ceaser salad. All were excellent! The breading on the fried was not too much - you could actually see the fish underneath it. The calamari was freshly cooked, yet not really overly flavored breading. It was ok because that is what sauces are for, right? The portions were more than adequate. The remodel is nicely done. Great job neighbor!

This was our first meal once arriving at NSB and we headed to the upstairs open bar. Liz from Rhode Island (?) was our bartender and she was great. We had popcorn shrimp, (a 10) spinach/artichoke dip (a 9) and crab cakes. ( a 4). As we were told afterwards, if you're from New England don't come down to Fla and expect the crab cakes to taste the same. They didn't no matter where we ordered them. Liz was fun and attentive and called all the women at the bar "Momma" Quite cute and hard not to like. We went back on our last day for breakfast, I ordered a meat lovers omelet which came overcooked and lacking the cheese the menu promised. I didn't eat very much nor did I say anything to the waitress. My husband had a great all American breakfast. One I wished I had ordered, your basic over easy with the usual.

Poor service & food

Excited to enjoy a meal with a view of the ocean. We definitely got that. The rest was just lackluster. It took us a bit to figure out our servers method of communication was to speak loudly about 15’ from our table. At first we didn’t realize she was talking to us. Interesting she’d ask if we were ready to order, how everything was & if we needed anything — consistently from far away. She did that to another table she had. The food was at good temperature. The gator bites were good and moist. That was the best out of everything we had. The mango mahi tacos were very much lacking in flavor. The mangos had zero taste. Was looking forward to the homemade chips and they were just shy of soggy and tasteless. Fish & chips were ok. Could have been more seasoning for some taste. Just all around poor quality but at least the view was nice.

We had looked forward to the opening of Crabby’s NSB ever since we heard they were going to open in the old Crow’s Nest. We have been twice. First time was for a quick lunch. We both had the shrimp avocado salad. Very good. Second time was with friends for an early dinner. It was their first time. We ordered shrimp avocado salad, ahi tuna sandwich, coconut shrimp and shrimp boil with black beans and rice. Everyone was very happy with their selections. I had the shrimp boil with the garlic sauce. Excellent!! So much shrimp I almost got tired of eating them. Hahaha! Both times our server has been excellent. The second time Stefanie was our server. Do you love a server who is very attentive and efficient yet takes the time to talk to you and fun banter back and forth? That is Stefanie. Excellent service. Great view, great food, great service!

If I could give this place a zero rating, I would!! Terrible place to eat and work!! They treat their employees like dogs… food is way overpriced for the quality… food is very bland and just not worth visiting there in my opinion!! This place should be shut down!!

Good Breakfast in NSB

Very friendly service at Crabbys.. even since their original opening. The atmosphere is nice but breakfast is only in the inside climate controlled area, not in the upstairs open breeze. Views of the ocean are all around tho as it’s almost all glass sliders for the walls on the inside. That being said food was good. My husband and I both had omelets (Floridian and build your own) and they came out fast and hot with lots of stuffings on the inside. Nice side of red potato home fries with it. Very tasty but a little overpriced for what you get since you could get similar fare at a diner for $8-9 and crabbys was $13 for the omelet. The restaurant is always clean and staff is very friendly whenever we’ve been for dinner or lunch too. Nice add to the NSB breakfast scene which can be a bit limited. Looking forward to going back to try other menu items like their breakfast pizza and crabby benedict

Very friendly staff. Our server Michelle was very knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly, never made us feel rushed in ordering. And the food was outstanding! Great ocean view as well! Definitely worth visiting again and again

The smell brought us in as we drove down the street. What a good pick. Food portions were very generous for cost and quality of seafood was top notch. Excellent server and other wait staff. I highly recommend if you want fresh seafood and a view of the ocean.

Breakfast needs a little work

Breakfast my omelette was very large, and the fillings were very generous. The home fries were cooked just like I like them however, the eggs were way over cooked very brown with burnt spots and almost a rubbery texture. and does not come with toast. My waitress Ashlea was very friendly and professional but I thought the whole thing was very pricey. It was $25 with coffee tax and tip and no toast but sitting on the ocean was really nice. The view was beautiful.
