We were looking for casual but fresh seafood nearby and spotted this while shopping at Publix. (It's in the same shopping center.) We were not disappointed. Raw oysters were succulent and fresh and the grouper tacos were equally as delish! Service was great. We enjoyed...sitting outside which was delightful and quieter than inside. Highly recommend. We will be back!More

Always have had a good experience at off the hook. Love the more upscale atmosphere it has for a seafood place but still casual. My favorite spot to grab some oysters.

We found this place after looking at TripAdvisor top restaurants in New Smyrna Beach Florida. It was in a strip mall, which at first made questionable to us. But once we walked in the atmosphere was awesome...the bartender great and food was out of this...world! When we vacation in Florida we try to find restaurants where the locals go. They are less crowded, food is better than the overcrowded, tourist traps where the dinners taste like all the restaurants next door. We live in Tennessee so when we vacation its all about eating the best seafood we can find. We hit the jack pot with OFF THE HOOK! The Seafood Cavatappi is the best pasta I have even eaten. The bartender recommended it and what a hit it was. All the staff seemed friendly and the place just felt like home away from home....😊More

This restaurant was nicer than I expected from the outside. The food and service was average. The seafood boil was not what we expected ( just different than we are used to having). Probably a better place for drinkers and not so much for families....I love seeing family and locally owned restaurants though.More

Busy place with excellent wait staff who were helpful with recommendations that were spot on! The poke tqcos and crab and shrimp dip appetizer were delicious.

This is in a strip center by a grocery but the clams and mussels are delicious. The crab cobb was my favorite. Full bar also available.

I was in a rib mood, and so it was we went to Off the Hook -- which has really great ribs. We used to go to nearby New Smyrna Beach Steak House for ribs, but they're now closed. We understood the Steak House and...Off the Hook served the same ribs (same cook, owner?) only difference, Off the Hook doesn't offer baked potato. Anyhow, we weren't disappointed at all, even without the baked potato. In fact, I feel like I ate the best ribs I've ever eaten! I ordered the Thai Chili ribs; my husband got the original St Louis style. The ribs were so meaty and tender. Cole Slaw is worth driving over and ordering all by itself. EXCELLENT! Our server, Jen, was cheery and sweet; great job. I'll be back soon!More

Off the Hook fooled me, I thought it was a bar with food but is actually a full scale restaurant. We had some apss- Calamari & Sushi Tuna- both excellent, folllowed with light portion of fried oysters and a combo; fish, scallops and shrimp. Fish...& scallops were great, shrimp just OK. Nice friendly service. Place was busty on a Friday night but still comfortable. Hidden in a Publix Mall off E3rd..More

We were a bit dismayed to pull into a strip mall and then find that servers were not wearing masks. However. Our opinion changed once we tried the sangria! Delicious! We ordered a grouper sandwich and poke ahi salad. Excellent! And service was good, too....We liked it so much we went to the other location on the water (Port Orange area) the following day. It was every bit as good if not better.More

My neighbor and l visited here a couple of times last week for happy hour oysters ($10 dz). They were typical Virginia oysters, very clean and delicious. On our second visit l tried the crab bisque ($6). Omg, it was the best soup l ever...had. I just had to have another bowl! My next visit it will be the first thing l order. It was so great I added a photo of it! My neighbor tried the gumbo and said it was delicious. We chose to sit outside due to COVID precautions. It was clean, comfortable and serviced well by the friendly staff. This will definitely be on my go to list for now on.More
