We’ve dined here a half dozen times (or more), and it has always been excellent. Last night was no exception, as I was treated to dinner with our adult sons on a milestone birthday. It was a great choice. The setting on the patio is...our favorite, and on a nice April evening, it was wonderful. The service was friendly and professional, and the cuisine, as always, was superb. Our group tasted from across the menu, and all were delighted. I had my personal favorites: the escargot followed by the moules frites, then the profiteroles. Hard to beat. We’re delighted to have this gem in Naples and cannot recommend it highly enough.More
Quick summary: really delicious bistro-French and American food. $50 3-course prix fixe menu is a good deal for the quality. Friendly, professional service. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant, including the moderate noise level (seems unusual in many restaurants lately.) Indoor and outdoor dining. This is...always a favorite stop whenever we are in Naples. The menu has many French favorites (coq au vin; mussels; etc.) as well as American favorites (steaks.) The menu is not huge but includes a range of meats, fish, and vegetarian options to please most. The food is superbly cooked - my family and myself have loved every dish through the years. Most of us opted for the 3-course prix fixe dinner at $50. Frist course choices included plain (simple mixed green salad) to more adventurous (smoked salmon - a pretty large portion for a first course. They smoke it themselves.) to the decidedly French (fennel salad with oranges.) Similarly, mains ranged from coq au vin to braised pork shank (so delish!) One of us made a dinner instead from the a la carte menu of tuna tartare ($20) and the excellent fish stew. The range of dessert is enticing, including the frangipane tart with lavender ice cream, to the creme brulee, to the choice of ice creams, and more. A la carte mains are generally in the high 420's to $30's. Steaks are higher. Very good bread with butter and olive tapinade on the table. I suggest you bring home a jar of the just-right tapinade. Full bar, with craft martinis $17-18 for a good-sized glass, and wines in the $teens for a good pour. Service here has always been friendly and professional. This evening, we were in very good hands with Jim waiting our table. Since we were not sure about weather at this time of year, we reserved our table in side. It was still a good choice, but there is a really lovely outdoor garden patio, too, that provides some cover. I STRONGLY recommend reservations - the place was full by the time we left. To note: if you want to go for the prix fixe (weeknights only), you need to be seated by 5:45 or so. Moderate level of noise. Frankly, I have been in too many restaurants lately where the noise is deafening. While not whisper quiet, this place was a nice change. Of course, we'll be back, and a few times, when in Naples. I only wish we lived closer on a regular basis.More
One of two 5-Star French restaurants we had the pleasure of dining at recently (Chez Boet is the other) in Old Naples. They are across the street from each other and both are an amazing culinary experience. Having just eaten at Chez Boet, we wanted...to try other dishes so we split the Mesclun Salad and the Lysielle's Lorraine Quiche. It was worth going there just for the quiche. It was amazing. We both had the pork shank that fell off the bone and was tender and delicious. Service was excellent and overall our Naples trip was our best dining vacation ever.More
Our first time here and we had a wonderful dinner on the patio. We doubt we have seen a more extensive champagne list anywhere. All of our favorites- Roederer, Moet, Veuve, Mumm, Billecart! And yes Franciacorta and prosecco. Didi was very friendly and food was...delish.More
We have had two awful meals in the last three weeks. The food in both cases by any standards was dreadful. On the second occasion they ran out of salads by 8.00pm !! To be avoided
Blue Provence lost our credit card and they were not apologetic at all. After the payment, they just couldn't find our card. The owner suggested to wait until the next day, not to cancel it. Really? Accordingly to him: they have a lot of cameras...in the restaurant and he was sure that he was able to figure out what happened. Who would wait until the next day and not cancel a missing card? Also, the food is getting worst. My fish was burned. A few weeks ago, my husband was sick after eating at the BP. So, as a local, I could not recommend this restaurant any longer. Luckily, there are many other excellent options in Naples.More
Ambience brings you to the notion that you're in a French restaurant. Very spacious and surprisingly large. Service was phenomenal; our waiter was Fiorentin and he was hands down key to our amazing dining experience. Menu options were plentiful with many options. Flavorful and authentically...prepared dishes and an extensive wine list topped off the evening. Thank you Fiorentin! We'll definitely return to Bleu Provence!More
Bam! What a great experience. Food was excellent; service (John) was professional and fun; wine list was second to none! Both the Frog Legs and the Duck Leg Confit were awesome! So glad our friends turned us on to it!
Sean was a fabulous waiter. So professional and kind. Husband had duck confit w a delish sweet potato side. My pork shank was very good as well. They had GF bread - yippee!!! Would def recommend this spot
Based on reviews and friends feedback we had high expectations going in. Made a reservation for 8:00 PM on a Tuesday and were promptly seated at a table that was a bit tight for four people. The room we were in was half full and...remained so until we finished dinner. Of two empty tables next to ours, one had a paper towel or tissue under a chair, and the other had a cloth napkin under another. Service was good and prompt. Overall, food tasted good but lacked a certain freshness, herb like, one would expect from a French cuisine mainly for fog legs, The presentation of dishes varied from average to bad. A salad plate was half full and greens were placed as if to fill the space. We thought that the partner-chef might not have been in that night. We asked and were told that she was. We will probably give it another try sometime not too soon.More
Pros: - Nice ambiance - Friendly staff - Well-staffed Cons: - Multiple different waiters asked if we would like some water despite that we has already ordered bottled water. A bit chaotic. - Sparkling French wine served in normal wine glasses. The waiter asked if...it's OK to drink out of wine glasses instead of flutes. - Recommend special Entrée of the evening was of starter size portion. In fact, one was still hungry and almost wanted to order another Entrée. - The pork shank was swimming in brownish jus-water. It was extremely difficult to eat as the entire affair was very "soupy" and one had to be careful not to mess up and get any drops on one's clothes or the table. The mentioned "mashed apples" were hardly noticeable as they swam (if present?) diluted in the brown jus-soupe. The two small pieces of "Broccolini" were served basically fully raw (not sure they were steamed or treated otherwise?). As they were swimming under the "soupe" one first thought to have accidentally bitten into a pork shank bone. - The crêpe Suzette was supposed to be with "Grand Marnier". One had utmost difficulty to trace any of this particular flavor (if it was present). Overall: Disappointing gastronomic and culinary experience. More
Our first time at this restaurant while visiting Naples did not disappoint. We came for the early (5-6 p.m.) specials, sat on the lovely covered patio with pretty lighting and heaters. My crispy duck and my husband's chicken, along with our salads and desserts were...fantastic ! The service was great ! We will definitely make this a regular destination when we visit Naples.More
I never write a review on my first visit, but for Bleu Provence I have to. When I lived in Europe I traveled extensively throughout France, dining in many Michelin stared restaurants. I took my brother and his wife there for his 75th birthday. They...have lived there for 3 years and this was the first time there for them. First. we were seated promptly by the hostess upon our arrival. We were given a table outside which reminded me of French countryside restaurants. Second, our waiter, Peter, came to our table in a matter of minutes and took our drink order which arrived promptly. As we looked at the menu, Peter told us about the specials. My brother ordered a salad, his wife the mushroom soup, and I the frogs legs. All were superb. For our entrees, my brother had the sea bass, his wife one of the specials, and I the loup de mere. Once again awesome. Peter heard us talking that it was my brother's birthday so he put a candle on his tarte tatin. The deserts exceeded expectations. We all decided that this was the best meal we have had in a long time. I haven't dined this well since I left Europe. The next time I visit them I am going to make sure that we dine there again and have Peter take care of us.More
When my wife & I arrived, we were warmly greeted and felt like we were in a restaurant in Southern France. The wine list was extensive but exceptional. The wine steward is very knowledgeable and helped to make the perfect selection to complement our seafood...and meat entrees. The food is authentic French cuisine and our meal was outstanding! Our server, Dilyna, was wonderful and did an excellent job. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.More
