Andy Hyde is ready for Naples! But is Naples ready for Andy Hyde? Well, simply put, my answer to that question is it better be, because Hydes’s new restaurant, the eponymous Hyde N Chic, is going to be in town for a long, long time! And for that, we are unduly fortunate.
Creative cooking is the “nom du jeu” in this intimate new restaurant adjoining Tamiami Trail.
Here you’ll find a plentiful selection of seasonal appetizers and entrees covering a broad gamut of food possibilities. On this particular evening, my wife and I decided to enjoy the preselected 4 course dinner comprised of seafood and meat selections (5 courses if you have room for dessert) which can optionally be paired with a modest but appropriate selection of wines.
Preceding this, we were additionally each graced with 2 samplings of amuse bouche: one a delicate buttery truffle broth, the other a small flavorful chicken egg served in a well intentioned, dainty nest.
The 4 course dinner, in a word, was scrumptious. My favorite course was the hamachi which blended a number of savory seasonings and techniques into one superb serving of fish. However, to be forthright, the additional courses which included scallops, sea bass, duck and steak were all just as sensational. And lest I forget, each serving was complimented with its own complex and outstanding sauce that, all together, define the hallmarks of a master chef...... a chef that Naples will quickly grow to cherish as his legacy takes hold and, no doubt, grows and prospers in our fortunate community.
I suggest that give yourself the honor of dining at Hyde N Chic. And do so soon, as the long line will quickly be forming at the door once the news is out!

My wife and I had another extraordinary dining experience at Hyde N Chic. Chef Hyde is an artist. Each dish is perfectly plated, tastes incredible and is intentionally coursed to ensure guests don't feel rushed. This is a true hidden gem -- elegant food, charming atmosphere and impeccable service. Looking forward to our next visit!

I was hoping to give a great review, but considering Naples restaurants standards, this venue needs adjustment. The food had great taste & presentation, but VERY OVERPRICED for what is on plate.
Lobster & scallop entree amounted to the equivalent of 2 scallops & the meat of 2 shrimp for
Very disappointed..

Well my wife and I were scheduled for a romantic dinner at this establishment on a Saturday night.
Before we arrived I previewed the wine list and noted it was limited and extremely expensive for what the wines were so I decided I bring my own. Also my wife had had an extensive conversation with the chef before hand on the corkage fee which he told her was $30/ bottle. A number which I find on the high side but I was willing to pay.
So we show up for our reservation and sat down with our bottle of wine the waiter pours us and glass and precedes to tell us the dockage fee is $50/ bottle.
I tell the waiter that is the most ridiculous fee I have ever heard and to verify the fee with the the chef which he did and again told us $50 bottle. My wife mentions to the waiter she had an extensive conversation with the chef and he has mentioned $30/ bottle. The waiter goes back to the chef, and the place is so small we can hear the conversation and the chef says no way and the price is $50/ bottle.
So we told the waiter we will be leaving finished our wine and proceeded down the street to one of our favorite restaurants Fuse which has a more realistic corkage fee.
Not only his this knucklehead chef lose our business over the $20 increase he told my wife but we will be sure to tell every friend we have what a rip off this place is. Also we had scheduled a large private party of 30 people which we will now be having at another restaurant
Plenty of other good restaurants in Naples with more realistic prices.

Maybe you did not hear/listen our chef when he kindly told you over the phone that our corkage fee is $50 for the first bottle and $60 for the second. You still came to the restaurant and we received you as friends. Our chef is a very kind and smart young businessman. He would not turn away nice & understanding guests who can accept a small local business policy, especially after a global pandemic.
Thank you for coming.

Wow, I wish this was a five star review - and based on the food it could have been! Chef/owner Andy is a very talented chef and what we ate was wonderful. The experience and service (driven by the food delivery times from the kitchen) were absolutely among the worst I've ever experienced in a better restaurant. We arrived on time and ordered a bottle of champagne and then ordered our four courses from the tasting menu. No food was brought to the table for over 30 minutes when we asked if there was some bread. We were told there was no bread service and the reason was that the chef wanted to get bread from this fantastic baker, but he couldn't work out a financial arrangement. Trust me something would be better than nothing, especially when the delivery of food was being paced at a course per hour. This is a tasting menu, so each course was a few bites (as would be expected). The cap of the night was watching the largest table in the small restaurant arrive almost two hours after us and being served four courses, specially prepared just for them, by the time we were on our third course! We asked for our check and left before the fourth course.
Chef Andy should recognize that he needs someone to manage his restaurant and he should continue to prepare his culinary creations. Running a restaurant isn't his talent, preparing great food is.
What a shame.

You are just another business disruptor that is friends with a restaurant owner on 5th that was sent to stir up the pot. We comped your entire meal and only charge you for wines you drank. No one that night had a problem and was totally understanding of the slight delays.. After 48 hours reviewing our Sales, I noticed our Server Compt your entire meal and took the bill upon them self. Because she was tired of you harassing her (19 years old) in these difficult times restaurants are banned people like you #businessdisruptorstayhome

This has been the worst dining experience my family and I have ever have(if I could give 0 stars I would.)We have traveled to multiple countries and eaten at many high end restaurants and have never been so insulted by a chief like this. The food took over an hour for each course to come out (it was a tasting menu with 4 courses to put into perspective). By the third course it had been two and a half hours and they gave us all the wrong order. At this point we were very disappointed and asked for the check and to leave. When the chief came out to talk to us he screamed at us and told us we could leave. He then said he was going to hold our credit card and charge it for the full amount even though we didn’t get 2 out of the 4 courses we asked for. He then would not talk to us again. After reviewing further complaints on google it seems that this chief can not take any criticism. So for you chief don’t even bother replying back you have lost a customer and our recommendation. I hope you find peace in your life. For all future restaurant customers LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!

Portions are tiny, some just 2-3 bites, so 3-5 courses is the way to go. Each dish though is very thought out and beautifully presented. The flavors are varied and the staff will help you with suggestions. This is a great place for foodies or date night. Make sure to make reservations, only has a few tables.

My wife and I along with our friends had been trying to dine out together since months ago. Finally our day arrived. Babysitters on duty paved the way.
Chef Andy Hydes March 2022 - 4 course tasting Menu lay before us. The night started off with a glass of Laurent Perrier and Chef Andy's signature caviar. The caviar was served in a nice traditional tin can on a bed of smoked sturgeon cream made from the same fish that produced the caviar and some crispy taro chips.
For my 1st course I had the hot potato n leek soup with escargot and lobster with grilled german sourdough. The texture of the soup was sublime silky, yet immensely satisfying. Needless to say we started out with a BANG!
For my 2nd course I had the Wild Mushroom Strudel n bacon lardons. I think the chef used mostly shitake and not the black trumpets this time around. The pastry was flaky and the mushrooms had a nice meaty/umami flavor. The bacon lardon's were crunchy and just enough to pack a punch. I love shrooms so this was a shoe in for me.
For my 3rd course I had the Halibut cooked on Binchotan Charcoal. This type of charcoal was new for me. Simply AMAZING - this fabulous fresh thick filet of beautiful flakey fish had a deep yet subdued, clean natural charcoal flavor. The skin was seared and crunchy and it was obvious this filet was cut from a large specimen. The artichokes were flash friend, crispy and featured an exotic north african touch with berber spice.
The young ladies who served us did a fine job and were both attentive and amicable. Chef Hyde has been and continues to be the BEST Naples has to offer. He is world class and always brings something different to Naples fine dining scene. If you are looking for more of the same type of Naples cuisine (Italian, Floridean if such a thing exists in fine dining)....don't dine with Andy. However if you are looking for a proper champion's league, chef driven, michelin quality experience, Hyde N Chic is for you.

After reading many reviews on this Chef and restaurant I was excited to try this dining experience.
It was a prix fixe menu or Chef’s Choice. We had so many courses I think I’ve forgotten a few.
We were greeted warmly by a young man and Chef Andy. The restaurant is very small, cozy with large colorful paintings and a unique chandelier white tablecloths and many place settings of cutlery set at a pretty angle.
Yes, it is in a strip shopping center near a laundromat and hair salon however once inside the restaurant the ambiance is of its own. I like supporting local Chef’s restaurants who are totally unique. This was a dining “experience” which happened over the course of several hours so I wouldn’t expect a quick meal.
We each had a Chardonnay one from South Africa and the other a California and we both commented on the thin stemmed wine glasses which were perfect.
We started with tuna tartare and avocado, then amberjack tartare with crunchy poppyseeds and a crispy gluten free puff. Delicious!
We then shared oysters on the half shell with a spicy, sweet sauce and fresh caviar. Chef mentioned he had cooked for the Wine Festival this week and had bought pounds of caviar. Beautiful and Delicious!
Next came a whipped creamy foie de Gras with tiny dollops of a blackberry coulis and toast tips. Next, melt in your mouth halibut with a sweet and savory sauce which was delicious!
Next course, char grilled octopus on a bed of colorful sauces and quail which was tender and savory. Delicious!
Lastly lamb chops in a sauce which was so rich and decadent that we wanted to ask for bread (haha we knew better) to slurp up the drippings. A small dollop of freshly mashed potatoes topped it off. Delicious!
We had ordered dessert but decided to cancel it because we were too full.
I really enjoyed this dining experience and the food was outstanding! It does take patience as stellar food takes time when there are 16 others dining.
If you’re adventurous and enjoy special cuisine I highly recommend. Bon appetit!

A lot of money for delicious food. Tasting menu -- small, widely spaced courses. We have wintered in Naples for 10 years and eat out five days weekly. There are many excellent restaurants in Naples, this one ranks well as to taste, but the ambiance is too noisy and the service too slow. So, not likey we'll go back.

As a follow up to the below review from Dec. 28th, we had quite possibly the worst dining experience at this establishment. To start we were a table of 4 and they sat us at a table for 8. This is a supposed to be a 4 course tasting and 2.5 hours into the sitting we only had two courses come out. They skipped the third course and brought out the last course which had items that were not even on the menu given to us. We assumed they were just a slow establishment until we saw the chef yell at another patron. Things took a turn for the worse when the chef verbally abused us and made it seem that everything was our fault for their shortcomings. The chef/owner was combative and wanted to fight. He also had some expletive inappropriate words for an older patron. Food is good but does not make up for the actions of the chef/owner. The waitstaff was wonderful and not their fault.

We went there because of a recommendation from a friend. We expected an upscale experience, but found that the restaurant were more like a hole in the wall.
In the door we were met by a light odour of mold, and a very noisy atmosphere.
We ordered two glasses of champagne that were not cold. Also the following white wine was much too warm. As a compensation the red wine was ice cold. Unacceptable for a restaurant that offers wine pairing.
Our first dish was oysters, that also was not chilled enough and had a strange consistence. In the following brazzino, we found bones, that never have happend to us before.
For the main course I had short ribs, Unfortunately they were not medium rare but completely raw inside. Bleue, as the French would say.
When the main course plates were taken away, we immediately had the bill on our table. When I asked, " why do you think we do not want dessert or espresso", the answer was, "the person making dessert is on spring brake and espresso we do not have".
For this poor quality, this restaurant is severely overpriced, and cannot be recommended to anyone.

Located in a small nondescript strip mall Chef Andy Hyde's restaurant is the ultimate "Hidden Gem". His 5 Course Tasting Menu uses all farm fresh ingredients with each dish prepared à la minute (no pre-cooked items here). We arrived at 6PM and left three hours later fully sated after one of the best meals we've ever had in Southwest Florida. We arrived as strangers but after only a few minutes it was like Chef Andy was an old friend. It was clear he has a passion for cooking along with the desire, enthusiasm and ability to present a truly sumptuous meal.

A cozy ambiance with an amazing Chef! If you are a “foodie” and enjoy trying out new food the Chef’s choice is the way to go. We had an spectacular experience like a private Chef’s table. Perfect for special occasions like my birthday which Chef Hyde exceeded my expectations. What a great experience overall definitely recommend when you would like to splurge.

My husband and I were searching for a fun date night location and decided to try Hyde N Chic, which was an incredible experience. The owner/chef, Andy Hyde, is BEYOND talented — honestly the best dinner we’ve had here in Naples. The menu options are incredible, and the food is beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. This is a perfect location for a date night, night out with friends or entertaining clients. If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience, I highly recommend Hyde N Chic.
