Delicious food and great ambiance!

Wanted to try out this restaurant for a while, and I truly enjoyed my meal! I ordered the chicken Tikka Masala medium a cheese Naan and finished off with a mango Indian ice cream.... While waiting for our food to come out we looked over at the sparking ceiling, wall art, everything came out steaming, tasted perfect and my waiter was attentive and kind. What a great experience, will be back soon.

AMAZING FOOD!!!

This food is sent from heaven! So glad we have this restaurant downtown Mount Dora, they have been here 5 years apparently. Known about them since this last Christmas. Service might be a bit slow when they are full but the food is worth waiting for just enjoy the interior art on the walls to pass time.

Great restaurant for Mt. Dora.

For Lunch I had pineapple chicken served with a side of basmati rice and I had ordered a garlic naan on the side and also a chili cauliflower, all were flavorful and spice level to my liking. Beautiful decor and good service. Can’t wait to come back.

Authentic Indian food

I love Indian food and we decided to give this a go as we don't live too far from Mt. Dora and wanted something local. We ordered the lamb naan bread appetizer and it was amazing! They have a ton of different flavors so I definitely want to try those later. My entree was the goat curry (medium spiciness) and it was also very good and authentic. If you don't like spicy definitely go mild and possibly order something else because I can't imagine mild will really be that mild. My wife got the chicken korma which was less spicy but I enjoyed hers... but the curry was better! The service was good. The place is pretty small and he serviced the entire place but I didn't feel like I waited for very long. The inside is heavily decorated from the walls to the ceiling so it's interesting just look at the art/design. I would definitely go again.

Reservation are good for nothing!

Old and very small. We made a reservation in person at 12:00 am to go to dinner at 7:00 pm and at 6:50 pm when we got there and parked which by the way parking is a hassle they said rudely that we had to wait for an hour or go someplace else. so thank god we went somewhere else.

We love this establishment! This family run restaurant is the best in the area. The food is flavorful and made fresh, the staff are so very friendly, and the decor is comfortable and hand-created by a talented family member. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great authentic indian food

We went in Saturday evening October 31st. Small restaurant with big flavors and great curries. My friend had the mid butter chicken which was full of flavor and had lots of tasty chunks of white meat chicken. i had the chicken jalfreizi hot which was awesome. The flavors bursting on my pallet were incredible. The nan bread plain cooked to perfection. The young man who waited on us was very polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this restuarant.

Unique Date Night

We came to Mount Dora for a unique date night, and wanted to try something new. Shiva Indian Restaurant was our first experience with Indian cuisine, and we were delighted. Our server was patient with us as we asked questions, and offered great dishes for us to try. You have made us fans with your charming restaurant and attentive service. A bonus for delicious vegan and vegetarian friendly options, and super clean restroom!

Charming, intimate environment. The chicken Tika masala was spiced just right at medium. A little bite. Nice size portion. Bigger than most. The owners are so warm and friendly. The chutneys are excellent. Two critiques: the onion kulcha needed more onions and was over cooked. I had to ask for the chutneys. If those two were different , I would have given this experience an excellent. Definitely will go again.

I have been visiting this restaurant for many years and the consistency and quality are exceptional. The owner takes an interest in how happy we are with our meals. I am usually not satisfied eating out at many restaurants and this one is at the top of my list.

Very poor Indian food

I love Indian food and will always try new restaurants when I see them. I think this was the worst Vindaloo I have ever tasted. The gravy was thin, very red , very vinegar heavy. I realize that vindaloo does have vinegar in but it was too forward. I cook a lot of Indian food so I was very disappointed with my meal. My partner had a Korma and described as very average

Great Indian food In a Small Town

By partner and I were staying in town for the weekend on a vacation, and decided to eat here for dinner and it didn't disappoint! The server was very attentive and friendly. The food itself was incredible. We ordered bullet and cheese naan which came out hot and fresh, and paneer makhani and tadkewali daal and they were also incredible. Everything was hot and full of traditional Indian flavors. If you're visiting Mount Dora or even just driving through, I'd highly recommend Shiva!

Delish food and lovely people.

Delicious Indian food in a cost relaxed setting. We tried the Aloo tikki, Butter chicken and Navratan Korma for lunch and licked our dishes using the rice and butter naan. Great food. Very good prices. Delightful wall decor.

The portions are generous. The Lamb Biryani in particular is succulent. It's a small place- very casual, not appropriate for large groups or children, and not fancy. But if you are a lover of authentic Indian dishes, this is THE place. I come from New Jersey with it's enclaves of Indian restaurants and this restaurant is right on par with any place I've ever been.

Fantastic food and service

Really enjoyed the food here. Recommend a visit. I have a multitude of requirements, including myself being vegetarian, an 8 year old and adventurous 11 year old and a hungry daddy and the menu options catered for us all. The Lassi was also a big hit for both my 2 children. Great atmosphere, service and food.. Thanks soo much. Tia and family.
