My wife and i cycled from Kardamena to Zia in october and sought out this much-praised taverna. We climbed up to Zia from Linopotis, a quieter but steeper route than the usual road from Zipari. As it happens our route took us into the top of Zia and this taverna was the first we came across. The area was very... More

The taverna was quiet but Kostas produced a lovely moussaka and fabulous herb & walnut bread. He also gave us a freebie of poached quince as a taster. If you're in Zia walk up the hill from the main drag with the tacky souvenir shops and find this taverna. Well worth it.

Myself and my wife visited Taverna Zia Kostas (No Stress) on our trip out on the hired quad to Zia, So glad we found this place as coaches full of people were everywhere, all the lower tavernas were full to the brim. We stumbled across this restaurant on our walk up the mountain.. We noticed how well kept and clean... More

Made the effort after reading the great reviews on here and we were not disappointed at all. Follow the path up through the many shops in the middle of the village on foot. Be careful not to fall for calling in at one of the others en-route and keep going past the church, past a few more then look for... More

the best bread I have ever eaten - and I got the recipe. it was very crowded in the village so it was good to get away just a little further up the hill and so glad we did. only hired the car for a day but would have liked to have had more time. traditional, friendly and worth the... More

If you go to Kos Island, do not miss out Zia and this taverna. Ask for the homemade cinnamon drink and Kosta's wine. Please order the musaka, and you will not regret. Don't eat in the village center with all the tourists, take a few steps and spend some time at Kosta's !!

This beautiful little taverna hidden away at the top of the village of Zia was well worth the visit. The mousaka was indeed the best I have ever tasted. The homemade bread was to die for and the homemade cinnamon and walnut cake mmmmmmmmm delicious, kostas is lovely, so friendly and it is he who makes the bread and cakes.... More
