So this place was recommended by a friend who said the food was good. I had never heard of it, even though it’s been here since the 70’s apparently. I went to check out the menu thru their website and decided to go ahead and make reservations. After filling in the required information, I clicked submit only to get the “we don’t support online reservations” message. Ok, no worries, let me call them.
Jen picked up and after a confusing conversation about me being part of a party, she said: “hold on one second”. She puts the phone down and 20 minutes later, I hung up. She completely forgot about me. I know she put the phone down because I could hear everything that was going on and then when I tried calling back, the line was busy.
Anyways, against my better judgement, I still went ahead and showed up as planned, party of four no reservation.
We were seated immediately and our waitress (the other Jen) served us. The place is a sports bar that has wood paneling all around, tv screens everywhere and a big screen for sporting events (there was a fight happening and would start charging $10 cover charge).
Jen was very friendly, bubbly personality and fun. Service was a little on the slow side but hey, we were there with friends from out of town so we were catching up.
We ordered the calamari and the coconut shrimp as starters. I should point out that I do not like coconut but the shrimp were really good.
I had the bacon and blue burger, my partner had the shrimp tacos and our friends had the sliders and the ribs.
Everything was really tasty. The ribs fell off the bone; the burger was delicious, well made and balanced (no onions) and the shrimp tacos where pretty good too.
Overall a good place to eat and hangout if you’re in the area.

I stopped here to get some take out to take back to my far to lovely to stay away from hotel. They put it together in about 3 minutes and I was off with a nicely packed dinner of quesadillas, beans, and rice. It was so delicious. Sometimes quesadillas can be soggy and gross as a take out item, not so here! I was very happy.

Norman's and their staff are doing a great job of trying their best to make your sports bar/tavern/restaurant experience as comfortable and agreeable as possible during this Covid situation. Especially the head bartender/waiter Caesar, he is always friendly and works very hard to give the customer an enjoyable experience [ask about his plants that he has for sale;basil, oregano...etc]
The food has seen a good improvement with a shorter more concise menu. Typical sports bar food, however I recommend a cobb salad with tuna or the salmon with rice and vegetables.

The place was busy. The crowd was having a great time watching the football game and playing pool. The staff was very attentive.
However, the food needs a bit of work.
My steak was way overcooked and it was served on a sizzling plate that was spitting hot grease everywhere - not good.
The mashed potatoes were dry.
The cheesecake was served frozen hard - maybe thaw it out a bit more. Definitely not fresh.

Most of the staff was friendly. It was busy when we were there, so; we would have to be fast to catch the server. When a different person came, we had a request, and he told us to wait for the server. Also, I was not too fond of the idea that the server wanted us to order the drinks first, then after bringing the drinks, leaving, and coming back five minutes later, he took our order. We knew what we wanted when we wanted the drinks.
One nice lady would get our drinks and refill them, and I wish I had her name, as she was very friendly.
To make things worse, and I think this is a common thing I've only seen in Miami is, they automatically put the tip in the bill. I was willing to give maybe 12% because we had to catch the waiter to get anything, and he never actually asked us if the food was okay, etc... BUT THEY PUT 18%!
To make it worse, I paid cash, and when bringing my change, they still owed me 23 Cents. When I finally caught the waiter again and said, "Excuse me, sir, You still owe me 23 Cents, he was mad, slammed a quarter on the table, saying, "Sorry sir, but we don't use change in the restaurant business." I replied, "Then you better start as he stomped off.
Nothing in that restaurant rated an 18% Gratuity fee.

We stayed at the adjoning Norman Hotel and walked in for happy hour ($3.00 beer) The calamari were good as well as the chicken wings. However when we received we were charged $5.00 a beer. I complained to the waitress who informed me that there was a mistake in the menu prices- that the new owner was changing prices and the menu did not reflect the new prices. I asked to speak to the manager and was again informed to speak to her the next day.
The next am we spoke to the manager (a woman) who could offer no reasons for the happy hour incident and did not offer to make amends.
Very shady....

any draft beer is 3$ in the happy hour.We have a big board on top of the bar explaining all our happy hour offer.So nothing shady about.The hotel is a different management from us so the morning manager wouldnt know the answer for your missunderstanding.Apologize for the inconvience anyway.Feel free to come again for a free beer...

My wife and I are staying at the Norman hotel that adjoins this restaurant. The front desk said if I need anything to go in and let them know I'm staying at the hotel. My wife and I wanted some soda so I went in and asked for a large Pepsi to go because I could see the Pepsi fountain drink machine they pour from. The femail cocktail server said that don't do to go drinks and brushed me off. The male cocktail server looked at the bartender and when he came over I told him it wasn't about money and I just wanted some soda. He acted like I wasn't worth his time and told me he didn't have Pepsi only Coke. I told him that was fine and he brought me a can of coke. I had no problem paying 3 dollars for a can of coke but I did have a problem being treated like a homeless person begging for handouts.

The Pepsi Machine is located behind the bar.We don't allowed any guest to go behind the bar.So is not about the 3$ but you should have ask our staff before self go in their work space without permission.Hotel guest has breakfast include in the morning but doesn't mean that they can go at anytime and and get free item from restaurant.We appreciate your visit and the time taken to review us.

Visited a couple of times. From the big screens to the very impressive playlist, this play offers a terrific atmosphere. Lunch and happy hour specials were very attractively priced and the portions were pretty generous.

This place was a short walk from our hotel and we decided to eat here as we walked by. We had the Mahi Mahi and the Shrimp Fetuccini Alfredo. I know this is not an Italian restaurant, but let me tell you that Alfredo was AH-MAZING! The Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly and the mojito was the cherry on top! Our food came out quickly and our waitress was very friendly. Definitely will try to go back during our stay.

We chose to eat her because it was close and had a simple menu. When we arrived there were people here who looked happy. Our waiter was pleasant. A runner dropped our food which in a word looked lackluster. We never saw another person until the host dropped our check on the table. The food was pretty horrible. Pulled pork sandwich had no flavor at all. No sauce. Simply a roll with a (literal) scoop of mushy meat and a tablespoon of Cole slaw on top. COLD FRIES. The nachos were nasty. Canned cheese, some mushy (tasted old) pico, chili from a can and the best thing on the table was the tiny $3 side of guac. By tiny I'm being generous saying it was a 1/4 cup. All in all, we didn't get sick. So that's a win.

Appauling service due to auto 18% gratuiity! This place has been a landmark on Miami Beach for a long time. Definetly not what it use to be. Avoided it for a year because i had a roach crawl on the bar while i was eating n was measely offered a free drink. Came back to give them a shot as cool bar next store stops food at 10. Really a bad experience. Horrible service, bad manners, and the person that appeared to be management repeatedly complained of boredom as empty patron glasses were directly in his view. Please retrain staff on customer service as this place doesn't know the basics especially with 18% gratuity when your 7 miles from South Beach.

another one seriously did not care.
The first bartender was eager to serve and took her craft seriously and the other seemed to check in to make some money and, ironically after deciding that, I heard it fr/ some of the employees (I was seated at the bar near the service area).
Service was good at the start and then fell off as my first bartender left. Food was good but the fish was over-cooked. Sides were good but not enough to make up for the over-cooked fish. I was surprised that seafood was not more of an emphasis being this close to the coast but the menu was much more "land centric".

Went here the first afternoon I was in Miami since I had heard about it and it was within walking distance of my hotel. The burger was as good as I had read. The burger was a nice size and cooked to my liking and tasted great. Hard to beat for $10 in Miami prices. Worth a trip

The blackened salmon and pulled pork sandwich were so good we went back 2 days in a row. Nice atmosphere- excellent service and consistent food quality. Highly recommended if you are in North Beach Miami 💜
