Great value for the food but in terms of ambiance I don’t like the tables right next to the sidewalk, too loud and very touristy .

I visited this restaurant with my family. We found their seafood delicious. My favorite is Jumbo Shrimp Scampi Provencal. My wife adores their paella. The restaurant serves modern cuisine and now I'm interested in their other dishes. Highly recommend this restaurantMore

While on a vacation in Miami for a few days I decided to get dinner here because of the reviews and because it was busy. I sat at the bar. Patrick was very helpful and patient. Drinks selection is interesting. Got the maracuya and it...was delicious. Seafood excellent and fresh. I’m Italian and I’m Avery picky with food. It was a fantastic experience and a culinary surprise since I got to learn while my staying that oceandrive is seen as a tourist trap. Make sure to try the key lime pie.. life changing!More

The food and service were amazing! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. I had the chopped salad and the ahi tuna. My husband had the New England clam chowder and the macadamia crusted snapper. We shared the key lime...pie (which is a must have).More

Dinner was simply perfect. We had Bang Bang shrimp and Spanish Octopus as starter, both well prepared and very tasteful. As mains we had Tuna, good and very fresh, and the Sea bass, that was impressive; the way it was cooked in combination with the...sauce (Asian fusion?) was one of the better meals in a long time. Service was very friendly and efficient. Price is maybe above average but price/quality ratio is very good. Was worth every penny. The only thing less appreciated is that tables are very close to each other and on a Saturday evening it’s obviously busy. Overall great experience and we will visit again.More

A Fish Called Avalon was an excellent dining experience. We had a table outside which I didn’t think I would like but it only added to the experience. This is a great place for dinner with friends. I really enjoyed the Orzo Seafood Paella, although...I don’t always order some of the seafood that was in the dish, I really enjoyed it and the fact it was made with orzo and not rice. The favor was out of this world. We ordered the Artichoke for an appetizer, however, I did think it was especially tough. Don’t leave the restaurant without ordering the Pecan- Crusted Key Lime Pie, it’s their signature dessert and worth saving room for this dessert.More

We had a lovely meal on the porch. Our waiter and all the servers were attentive and never had an empty water glass or used plate waiting on the table. We started off with shared appetizers - grilled octopus and apple and beet salad. My...husband then had the ahi tuna and I had chilean sea bass with shrimp dumplings. We actually enjoyed the burrata as our dessert :-) Everything was SO delicious! It was interesting people watching although I have to say, I'm not a fan of listening to a girlfriend rail on her boyfriend's shortcomings for 20 minutes...we were seated pretty close by! But aside from poor manners at this other table, the meal and the night were incredible. I HIGHLY recommend!More

This is one of our favorite places to eat anywhere! When we want to celebrate a milestone anniversary, South Beach and this restaurant always comes top of mind. We ate here Saturday night and made 6 p.m. reservations several weeks ahead on Open Table and...were seated outside. You can't beat the people watching at Avalon. Cocktails were great, bang bang shrimp for our appetizer, sea bass and mahi mahi for our meals, and key lime pie for dessert. All were exceptional along with the service. My husband and I found this place on a previous trip to South Beach and enjoyed it so much we returned again this trip. It didn’t disappoint! The restaurant was very busy, but the wait staff was experienced and courteous. Our server took time to...greet us, welcome us back and explain specials and chef recommendations. Any time spent waiting is easily occupied enjoying the sights and sounds of South Beach’s Ocean Drive. My husband had mushroom soup and I had NE clam chowder. Both were very good. We both had Chilean Sea Bass for an entree and I loved mine. The miso was a unique preparation and the shrimp dumplings were a really whimsical pairing. Don’t miss the key lime pie!! They say it’s award winning - I don’t doubt them! For a fun outdoor dining experience, give Avalon a try!More

We were staying right next door at the Beacon Hotel so never had to find parking...however, noticed people parking their cars on side streets, if available. Get there early, given very busy area.
