With live music and warm heaters we ate outside and watched the Ocean Drive scene on a Saturday night. A great choice and a great meal! The grouper was amazing

First time in Miami Beach and weren't prepared for the "bustle" of Ocean Dr.! But even with all the craziness on the sidewalks and in the street, my daughter and I had a great dinner at Avalon. Pretty dining room and great food. She had...the Scampi Provencal and I had the macadamia encrusted snapper, both of which were outstanding!More

After walking Ocean drive for some time we just weren’t that interested in all the restaurants/bars that served the same bar type foods, thank goodness we stumbled upon A Fish called Avalon. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was on par, the food was the...star of the show!!!! Amazing fresh creations of seafood mixed with everyday delights with a twist! 🌍out of this world green beans!!! The best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had, and the creme brulee 💥wow💥 our 17 yr old son is a creme brûlée connoisseur and this was by far his favourite! It was deconstructed but came together on the palette! Thank you Avalon for an amazing experience..... and the conversation at the end of the evening with your security guarding your gorgeous banana yellow classic out front was a highlight!More

We ventured to Ocean Drive specifically to say we'd been there and to eat at this restaurant. What we discovered was that 1) Ocean Drive is not for us and 2) the restaurant was very good. The patio is a delightful candlelit oasis sitting slightly...above the sidewalk allowing a safe place to people watch. Drinks were not overpriced. We ordered the fresh burrata appetizer to share which they split onto two plates for us. It was creamy and delicious. For the main course, we split the whole fish - which on our visit was Barramundi. They once again split it into two plates for us. The dish was served with buttery rice. If you're hungry, I wouldn't recommend sharing. For us, the smaller filet size was perfect.More

The food was absolutely incredible! Everything was very well seasoned, and no complaints about the quality. The only negative, was that we were less than impressed by our waiter. The restaurant was packed, and we knew he was very busy, but he seemed very rushed...whenever he came by our table. It made the experience a little less relaxing, but the food more than made up for it.More

Located on the busy Ocean Drive stretch, this popular restaurant was packed outside but empty inside when we arrived at around 6.30pm. A really strange phenomenon!....since inside was nice and cool whilst outside was hot and muggy. May be patrons prefer people watching than enjoying...their food under a more comfortable surrounding? Our server from Columbia was very friendly and professional.....the only positive thing of the whole meal. As for the food, they were mostly ho-hum and disappointing.....though portion size was very generous. The appetizers of Grilled Spanish Octopus and Crab cake were border line acceptable, with the overly charred and dry crab cake, composing of excessive fillers, a major disappointment. The 'all lump meat' version I had onboard the cruise ship Norwegian Encore was way, way tastier. The octopus was tender but lacking in charred aroma and tasted bland. Taste profile of the Blue Point oysters were inconsistent and unbalance?! A couple morsels, sweet and briny whilst a couple bland and tasteless?! Interesting for the same varietal?! Biggest let down was their house-special 'Grilled grouper topped with crab meat au gratin' dish. At over $41, the fish was dry and way overcooked! We were offered a replacement but by that time we were quite full and declined. A nice gesture by management though! Based on the above, may be their advertised, award winning ' Key-Lime Pie 'might not be what they claim to be?More

The Libster Bisque was exceptional. Very large portion . The house humus and fresh white bread were served as we were looking at the menu. I could have eaten it all night it was so good followed by the Bisque. Then I had a starter portion...of mussels . The white wine sauce was excellent but the mussels were slightly overdone. Maybe I was just too full after the previous courses but i didn't enjoy them. Ambiance was excellent and a great spot for people watching. Overall a great experience. Booking recommended.More

We were staying right next door at the Beacon Hotel so never had to find parking...however, noticed people parking their cars on side streets, if available. Get there early, given very busy area.
