This use to be my local but 'two strikes you are out' in my jargon ! this was my 2nd bad fish experience and as a result I am nursing a tummy ache and resorting to Alka Seltzer 😧my initial intention was to order the grass fed beef with cornmeal and okra but regretfully they were out of that dish.... Take a seat at Tap Tap and soak up the vibrant vibe of the restaurant. We would definitely recommend the home made lemonade when your there on a warm summer day. Almost every dish is worth it! You do have to like the mashed-corn side though. This was not quite my taste.

The restaurant had very good well seasoned food. I liked the atmosphere of the Haitian culture. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The plantains were not to my liking but everything was else was perfect. The drinks are delicious.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. Great live jazz band on Saturday night. Tried the Griyo--fried pork with plantains and rice. Very tasty. Funky atmosphere and good service.

My friend and I had read a review of this place in Lonely Planet. Having never had Haitian food, and with the recommendation being so strong, we headed here for dinner. The decor is stunning. There are murals and hand-painted tables and chairs throughout. The night we were there also featured a live band with trumpet. The food was delicious.... More

If you want authenic Haitian food, you must go here! The ambiance is bright and colorful with painted murals throughout the restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious!. The menu selection includes cultural fare and a great drink selection too. The wait staff are friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. We tried several appetizers in addition to the main entrees. The dessert which... More

Came to this popular spot for authentic hatian food. The place was quiet on a Monday night. The chicken was good the whole fish was good too. There were a few bugs flying around that I didn't appreciate. Other patrons looked like they had yummy dishes but the server wasn't that helpful so we got the basic

The vibe at Tap Tap is laid back and easy. We visited while on vacation on the recommendation of a friend and were happy to try a place located away from the more touristy part of South Beach. It was just a short $5 Uber from our hotel. The decor is cool and adds to the traditional Haitian vibe. We... More

The first thing I noticed when I walked into this restaurant was the amazing Hatian art on the walls and tables. We were greeted warmly by the bartender and sat immediately in a back room away from the band for our reservation on a busy Saturday night. The acoustics are such that it is very loud in the restaurant, but... More

We had a great meal here, along with a history lesson for our kids from Max (thank you!) who knew little about the country. It feels like stepping into an island nation at Tap Tap, very much worth adding to your itinerary. Not on the South Beach glamour train -- this is a homey and authentic destination.
