Food 5/5. Drinks 5/5. Atmosphere 5/5. I would definitely eat here again! PSA that they said the punch bowls were ~9 drinks, but I feel like there was more than that.

We needed a late idea for dinner and our concierge suggested this place. We were staying just down the street at the Edition, and had seen the Gitano on our walk. It is in a beautifully restored building. First we went up to the rooftop...bar; it's a fabulous spot to sit, drink and look at the surrounding buildings. Typical Miami Beach crowd. Then we went down to the restaurant, and ate on the outside deck. The food is Miami take on Mexican food. Really creative and well prepared. The steak for 2 taco is out of this world, and the churros for dessert shouldn't be missed. Highly recommended.More

I was surprised with how amazing the food was. Also both the restaurant and the rooftop are beautiful - you would never imagine it's tucked away in the Faena block. The service could be a little better but they were nice, just aloof.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! NOT WORTH IT AT ALL! NOT WORTH EVEN A QUARTER OF WHAT WE SPENT! Paid $300 for unlimited tacos and drinks on the roof with a live DJ on NYE.... what we got was waiting 3 hours for 3 tacos with no toppings,...just meat or mushrooms a DJ who did not place any dance music... just slow beats, felt like I was at a spa, and no new year count down. when the new year hit... there was literally no count down, no champagne... no nothing! Luckily a friend realized we were close to midnight and started a countdown amongst our group but this place really didn't act like NYE was anything to celebrate... I guess they were too distracted by ripping us all off to try to make the night fun or special. There were a lot of people upset with the DJ playlist. One girl was even talking to the manager a few times but he was dismissive. I asked the DJ to play something with a stronger beat and she dismissed me saying " I don't do that"... Everyone was leaving before midnight... on NYE during covid...that's how bad this night was! I can never get the night back and will never be able to fix the worst NYE I've ever had. the only way to resolve this would for me to get my money back.More

Very very authentic Mexican. This is no Chipotle or Taco Bell. Real Mexican flavors. All the dishes perfectly executed. This is a rarity in the US. Good Tequila menu. Rooftop bar is really cool.

The Gitano in Miami Beach is a very enchanting restaurant with a Mexican theme - a feast for the senses with its ambiance and amazing energy. The food was delicious and bring me to Mexican culture. Thank you for everything I will back !!

As we were staying close by we booked this place for the last dinner of our Miami visit. Connected to the Faena hotel nearby we assumed it would be a stylish affair. On this count it delivered, with a dark tropical interior and a party...atmosphere. As it was Saturday night the clientele appeared to consist primarily of beautiful well heeled 30 somethings socialising with friends or looking for action. After a short wait at the bar we were seated at a nice low table near the DJ, who sadly appeared to spend more time playing with his iPhone than playing the crowd. The rest of the evening was a mixed affair with some great food but chaotically bad table service (wrong dishes delivered to our table multiple times). All the staff we encountered were very sweet but overall this place would do well to sharpen up on the details.More

Loved the setting with its dark interior and lively bar. Fantastic food in a relaxed setting. Service was attentive and well informed.

I went twice for breakfast and once for lunch. Breakfasts were smooth, no issues. Lunch we were a group of 4.the waitress didn't understand what we ordered and brought us the wrong dishes. Then several errors on the bill: double charging, wrong items charged, etc....The bill was 25% higher because of the errors. Also it's true the food is very good but small and expensive. They were friendly in apologizing and correcting the errors but I will now be nervous about eating there again.More
