La Ventana is a small Colombian gem in SoBe, with few tables indoors and few outside giving you the feeling you are inside a restaurant in Cartagena, with the plants and flowers hanging from the ceiling and small lanterns on each table enhancing the ambiance. There is a parking garage close by and yesterday (Friday) evening was $2/hr. We had a reservation, so there was no waiting to be seated. We were greeted by Chris, the manager, and he explained the menu and gave us great suggestions. We took upon his suggestion and ordered the shrimp ceviche as appetizer. It was super fresh and delicious. The shrimp were meaty. For drinks we had the mango and pineapple mojitos. They were refreshing and had a beautiful presentation with lush mint, sliced lemon and green apple slice. My entree choice was the traditional Colombian Bandeja Paisa. If you are a meat eater you cannot go wrong with this dish. It had a flavorful rice and red beans, steak, chicharron, sweet plantains, small arepa, semi soft fried egg and avocado. I couldn't finish it all. My friend had the churrasco and he said it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I decided to have another drink and chose the classic mojito. It was a little strong for me, but I sure finished it ! We had leche flan for dessert, complimented with a cappuccino. Myrnor, our server, was very polite, knowledgeable and attentive. I want to return soon to try the fried Morada. It looks amazing.

What a great find! This restaurant is a hidden gem on a street full of tourist traps in miami beach. It is on the smaller side with even less available seating due to our current pandemic situation, but that actually ended up making the experience so much more meaningful. There are about 4 tables outdoors and 3 indoors with ample spacing in between. The decor and vibe bring you straight back to colombia with the music complementing that nostalgic feeling 🥰 Onto the food...all I can say is, wow! To start, we ordered the shrimp ceviche which came in an exquisite lime sauce with fresh cilantro sprinkled throughout. Each shrimp was sliced in half which allowed for even more lime juicy goodness in every bite. Our entrees came next where we ordered arroz con mariscos and bandeja paisa. The bandeja paisa does not come with your standard ground beef, but with a tender, well seasoned steak that went well with the chicharron (pork rinds), colombian sausage, rice, beans, sweet plantains, arepa, and avocado. Its a meal to remember! The arroz con mariscos was delightful. It was the perfect level of moist, and had the best balance between seafood and rice. To close out our meal, we ordered the postre de natas which is just like my mom makes it! It's a must try for anyone looking to get the full colombian experience. You wont regret it! 😊 From a cocktail perspective, they offer fresh mojitos in 4 different flavors including classic and pineapple. I thought the classic was perfect. We also tried the spicy margarita. Beware, the margarita is, in fact, spicy due to a cayenne pepper rim around the glass! It was a bit much for me, but my boyfriend (who puts sriracha on everything) enjoyed the heat and flavor combination very much. The service was exceptional with our server (along with what seemed like the manager) coming by every so often to ensure we had everything in place to make for a memorable experience. From an overview of the menu, to recommendations, to cleaning up our table, they were constantly checking in to ensure we had a great experience. Thank you for a wonderful night out!

As soon as we were welcomed by the host, we knew we were going to have a great experience because of how friendly he was. Located in Washington Avenue, right near Ocean Drive, this restaurant is perfect for anyone who is either visiting Miami or lives in Miami and wants to experience great food at a fair price. This restaurant is cozy and charming with decorations that transport you right to Colombia. The waitress was very friendly and service was very fast; nothing was delayed. We started with the ceviche as appetizer... OMG... some of the best ceviche we have tried (not exaggerating). We had the churrasco and camarones al ajillo. The churrasco was very flavorful and juicy, and cannot wait to go back to order it again. The camarones had an explosion of flavors... these 2 we highly recommend. We finished off with the Postre de Nata. It was our first time trying this dessert and what a great first impression it left. Overall, great experience, friendly staff, great food, fast service, fair prices. What else could you ask for?

I don't normally order steaks from restaurants that aren't "steakhouses " unless the "steaks are high "only then might I consider it . I got way more than that when I visited an amazing Colombian restaurant and ordered their skirt steak ! ⁣What hit my table was nothing short of mouth drooling experience. A 10oz angus skirt steak served with hogado sauce over a bed of white rice and a bowl of mixed salad . The service was great and the staff was ⁣beyond accommodating! The indoor space is intimate (which I love ) but also small. I wouldn't recommend going with parties larger than 4. If you do have 4 I would recommend calling ahead to reserve a table.

The minute we walked into La Ventana we knew we were in for a treat. A small, cozy dining area with a small bar in front, it has the décor of many of the romantic , quaint restaurants I have seen in Italy or Barcelona. We were greeted at the door by Jennifer, who watched over us all night and who was so sweet. She sat us at a nice two top table and our friendly and helpful server, Mynor came over and verified some of the drinks we wanted to order. My Mojito was filled with fresh mint leaves on top which made it a wonderful presentation. The Sangria my wife ordered was beautifully refreshing. Mynor recommended the favorite appetizer, Mi Tierra. A great representation of fabulous Columbian flavors: Beef, Chorizo, Red Beans, Avocado, Pork Belly topped off with Fried Egg. The presentation was so appealing I did not want to cut into it, but what a treat this was. Savored this for a long time. I ordered the Snapper Mojarra (Columbian for Fried Fish), and this was a meaty Snapper so Crispy on the outside and juicy inside; one of the best I've tasted even at some of the Peruvian places I've been. My wife had the Chimichurri Churrasco. A very large portion of Angus Skirt Steak, seasoned and cooked perfectly. A nice order of soft plantains on the side. So delicious. For dessert we loved the Krack Pie and Vanilla Ice Cream. Blew me away, this salted caramel filling with an oatmeal cookie crust topped with powdered sugar. You can't beat the atmosphere, service and flavors here.

Nice authentic Columbian food!! Very cosy atmosphere, we went sharing style and all 5 dishes were great - especially the chimichurri churrasco, a great piece of meat well prepared. The Krak pie for dessert was delicious and service throughout the evening was friendly and very attentive. Go for the quaint atmosphere, stay for the great food!!

We went to this restaurant yesterday not knowing what to expect besides it looking amazing based off all the pictures we saw & we were not disappointed! We started off with two mojitos, one mango & one pineapple. Both we strong and had delicious flavor but the pineapple one could have used alittle more pineapple juice in it ! The mango one was PERFECT, so sweet yet you can still taste the alcohol! For appetizers we ordered the patacones de pollo & they were amazing! For our meals, We had the bandeja de paisa & the churrasco and both were AMAZING. Whoever is cooking the meat really knows what they’re doing, I tend to get scared ordering my meat well done because it usually gets over cooked but they cooked it perfectly! The sausage that came with the bandeja de paisa was also really flavorful! For dessert, we ordered the guava cheesecake which was honestly the perfect way to end our night. It was so creamy and looked beautiful we almost didn’t want to eat it! We laughed because on the menu next to the guava cheesecake name it says addictive & now we understand why! Overall, we were extremely satisfied with La Ventana. Everything was amazing, presentation was beautiful for each dish! Customer service was good but our waiter who we first had, he didn’t come back really after bringing out our food to check on us or see if we wanted anything else or if we were okay. Valeria ended up taking care of us mostly and she really did a great job. This restaurant really is worth five stars!

Small place with large plates of food. Very tasty and friendly staff. Get the bandeja paisa: tender meat and pork belly served with plenty of side dishes. Highly recommended.

La Ventana is a place that will absolutely surprise you! It might look simple from the outside but once you sit down, this cozy place will satisfy your all your needs. From their creative cocktails to their authentic Colombian food, the variety of their plates and way of mixing flavors was something that we really enjoyed! Like that Cazuela de mariscos which is definitely our favorite plate here! As appetizers, we decided to get their signature Ceviche and their layered version version of the Bandeja Paisa named Mi Tierra, both of them were really good and definitely opened our appetite. The main course took longer that we expected but not long enough to bother us. While we waited for our food we made sure we had a drink on hand so we ordered two drinks that the server recommended, their version of Mojito and Margarita, first one was amazing but the second one was to strong for us. Once the food came to the table we were amazed by how great the food was garnish and how good it looked! But the star of the night were their delicious desserts! The guava cheesecake and krack pie is just to die for we definitely recommended!

La Ventana is the perfect place for post beach days hunger because the portions are so big and the food is sooo delicious. Immediately I noticed that it was really small, it gives an island restaurant vibe with a touch of vintage. I assumed they kept it small for the sake of the name (La Ventana/ The Window) Anyways , so fast forward to the service; I was immediately greeted and in a matter of 10 minutes I was seated. The waitress was really nice and she made sure any questions I had were answered, customer service is top notch. Moving forward to the food and OH MY GOD. Wow! The food took me back home with every bite. Even my least favorite dish being the Bandeja Paisa was good ; matter of taste being subjective. Then came the dessert and that krack pie took me out with how amazing it tasted. I need a lifetime supply of these bad boys in exchange for me to make sure all of Miami tastes it. I'll insert some pictures down here because words sometimes are not enough.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Miami. The food was great, but the service was better! The dishes are all well-priced, cheaper than most other restaurants on South Beach but same top notch quality. I had the pleasure to be greeted and waited on by Christian and Valeria and they both made this dinner a delightful experience. Thank you to them for an unforgettable dinner!

I went to La Ventana a couple of nights ago and if I'm totally honest, it was ok. I think it's expensive for what it is. We ordered the quesadilla for starter which says its "filled with avocado, red onions, maduro and cheese" but it only had cheese in it, and it was $11. For main course I had Arroz de Mariscos which tasted nice but the seafood was chewy and not fresh, and costed $24. And then for dessert we had the Guava Cheesecake which is $11 and it was so sweet, we couldn't finish it. You can tell this is an expensive place because of the area it is in, but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want a nice meal. It's fine for a meal with friends but I wouldn't come back. The staff were great though, the mojito was amazing and the place itself is very cute and picturesque, its just a shame that the food wasn't amazing too!

Went in for dinner. It is a small restaurant but seating was not a problem. Service was fast and efficient. We had the grilled chicken with creole sauce over rice and beans, very tender chicken and tasty. We also had the shrimp scampi, good portion size and delicious. Margaritas are served in special skull cups as you can see in the pictures. We had the Krack pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was just the perfect end to a great dinner! I highly recommend it.

10/10 would recommend for anyone visiting South Beach Miami area! South Beach is an interesting place with either tourist trap type restaurants that are super expensive for mediocre food or hole in the wall fast casual places. La Ventana is by far the best stumble we found just roaming Washington street! The prices were fair and the food was absolutely amazing and authentic! We started with the ceviche which tasted so fresh and came with REAL PLANTAINS! For our entree we got the Fried Fish and the Seafood Rice. Both generous portions. The Fish came with rice and beans. Not your average rice and beans but it was so flavorful, and never had anything like it. For dessert we tried the Guava Cheesecake because I’ve never seen that before and the menu claimed it was “irresistible”. All I can say is WOW ! It wasn’t too sweet and just the perfect ending to an incredible meal. Overall everything was excellent food and service! Our server was Natalia, she was super sweet and just so friendly!
