We stayed at this hotel for four days. We did eat every lunch and one dinner at Bungalow by the sea. The location is amazing. The food was outstanding! Tuna nachos were our favorite, ceviche was fantastic, and even the veggie burger was amazing (coming from meat eaters that says a lot!) Loved the homemade tortilla chips. Our biggest complaint was the service. Every time we had to flag someone down to get served. The first visit we sat for 25 mins (with waitstaff walking past and promising to be there soon) before I finally got up and ordered drinks at the bar. Most meals we only had one drink. We would have had 3-4 each but the server would never come back to ask if we wanted anything else. And every single meal I had to track him down to ask for the check. It was ridiculous. The reason I think the service is so poor is that 20% gratuity is automatically included on every drink/meal. There’s no incentive for the servers or bartenders to put effort in to please the customers.
Bar service was almost as bad. We had a few drinks there and it would take 10-15 minutes to get served (even when they weren’t busy). We heard many others grumbling about the lazy service as well.
A big shoutout to the amazing chefs! The management needs to fix the server/bartender issues.

Amazing setup by the beach including beach lounge outdoors in sand and deck/tiki bar. Serving the main restaurant five star menu right on beach along with dollar oysters and other goodies at happy hour. Talented staff and good music only makes everything better.

Allow a lot of time to eat, food can take a half hour for it to come to table. Food is good nothing special. Don’t get the Thai coconut water had three hours of chest and stomach pain after having a sip of it. Get a table by the bar not near the hotel lobby it takes longer over there. Don’t forget the 20% service charge on top of everything at The Cadillac hotel.

Some of the waitresses and waitresses are foreign and don't speak English as a first language. So they weren't as outgoing or conversational as some of the other staff. It wasn't that they were bad or rude, but the lack of confidence in speaking English was very noticeable. It also led to some inconsistency in service.
The food was excellent.
Everything has a mandatory 20% tip. That's my biggest complaint. The mandatory tip is semi-hidden. As a result, many guests give 15% or 20% extra. So a good waiter is making 35-40% in tips from some customers.
The menu could be more varied as some of it is too similar to the hotel restaurant, especially the pizzas.
Besides the mandatory 20% tips, my biggest issues were:
1) Horrible hours. Food and drinks doesn't start until 11 AM, which is absurd on the weekends. They could at least service drinks before 11.
2) Soda. When you order a Coke/Pepsi the staff bring it in an expensive can, which means no free refills. They don't tell you they can serve it by the fountain with free refills.

It seems like you have to get used to 2 things in every Floridian restaurant: an exorbitant check (the food is overpriced everywhere, with an additional mandatory 18% tax), and a scandalous waiting time. Keeping that in mind, this restaurant is quite ok, a beautiful view and a lovely oasis of bungalows and tables. The food is actually good, but the real problem is the timing. We got there at 1pm, and got our food at 2.30pm. And it did not even arrive all at the same time, one of our dishes got there 45 minutes earlier, meaning that one person was already done before the others even started eating. Granted, this is a particularly busy week, and the location makes up for it, but you should be aware that eating here means losing two hours of your day for a quick bite at lunch.

I love lobster rolls. When my order of lobster rolls came out, I was puzzled by what was on my plate. It doesn’t help that after dark the lighting in this mainly outdoors restaurant is so dim that they place these odd little battery-powered orbs on your table to help, but they don’t help much. There were two about 3-inch long “cakes” supposedly stuffed with lobster. They were covered by a mound of crispy onions and the plate was overflowing with french fries, probably an effort by the kitchen staff to make up for (or hide) the lacking of the main dish. Oh yeah, I asked the food runner for some ketchup (for the fries!), and 5 minutes later she came back with five foil packs like you would get from McDonalds! Class act. As for taste, I could barely make out a lobster flavor as I ate, but I couldn’t say how much actual lobster was there, because it was so dark.
The final insult in all this is they charge $25 for this poor excuse for lobster rolls. For a few dollars more, you could get an actual lobster dinner at most restaurants. My wife said her club sandwich was good. Bottom line, this restaurant is like any other on the Beach that charges premium prices, mostly based on location.
Go during the day if you want to see what you are eating!

We live in the vicinity and decided to have lunch at Cadillac Hotel’s outdoor cafe. It is located the back toward near the ocean and boardwalk, amidst the palm trees and foliage - a very placid setting. The food was very good and moderately priced for a hotel. I had the grouper sandwich and fries which were excellent while the fish was nicely seasoned and served on a bun with avocado and coleslaw My wife had the kale/ Caesar salad with grilled wild salmon. It was very good, especially the fish . We were also entertained by a little friendly squirrel which seemed to scramble by your table whenever it saw some French fries - nice. Service was a little slow but it was during COVID. As noted. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Also there is a daily happy hour from 4 to 7 pm which serves discounted appetizers and drinks. This place is highly recommended!

Had we never stayed before we wouldn't have known about Bungalow, one of the Cadillac Hotels's two bars and two restaurants.
The hotel has no promotions or incentives for guests. Why isn't there a welcome letter that advises of the hotel's bars and restaurants or an offer by the front desk to make dinner reservations when arriving and checking in at the front desk?
We had lunch here every day as well as drinks. Service was good to very good but some of the servers are better than others.
Some of the food on the menu is a little too similar to Donna Mare, the hotel restaurant. But there's enough difference that you can eat at the hotel a couple days without going bored. Wine list is extensive but the cheap plastic glasses or flutes felt cheap. Plus, regular wine isn't served in a flute.
We thought the salads were small, especially the size of the tuna and salmon. Maybe 4 oz. at best. Stick to the seafood, burgers and pizzas. All were better. The key lime pie was outstanding.

We were told to have dinner here by some friends who had stayed at the resort a few weeks prior, saying how good the food and atmosphere was. We arrived about 7:30, unaware they “closed” at 8:00 during the week. Took our waitress what seemed like forever to finally come to our table, only to say the first thing out of her mouth was, so we close at 8:00….so if you need to order……like she was implying to order quickly since they would be closing in 30 mins. So we looked over the menu quickly and ordered. Husband ordered a beer along with our food, waited at least 15 mins and never received it although the waitress walked by our table numerous times, and we tried to get her attention. Finally my husband walked to the bar to ask for his beer, as he did so, she walked up and apologized. Brought it to him a few mins later. Once we got our food, my husband asked for mustard for his burger, and once again, waited a long period of time and never got it. Finally was able to wave her down, ask again, and she brought him honey mustard. So, he found her again, and asked for regular mustard. She brought it to the table a few mins later, clearly annoyed. The entire time we were at the table and eating, she never checked on us, refilled our water, nothing. But would check on her other tables regularly. She did not come back to our table until time to bring us the ticket. Which included a 20% gratuity added in automatically. We did NOT receive service worth 20% gratuity! I went and asked our waitress for the manager at which point she rolled her eyes at me and acted irritated. Manager came over at which time I sternly expressed my frustrations with our entire dinner experience and expressed I should not be charged for automatic gratuity, especially for bad service. After a little back and forth and things getting a little heated, he finally did reduce our bill. I am a travel agent, service is a huge deal for me, and I will not be back nor will I refer future clients to their restaurant when in Miami. Great setting, poor service.

Our dinner was wonderful and Kimberly was so attentive and helpful. As someone who deals with food allergies, she made sure my food was correctly prepared with that in mind and everything was so delicious. We had the Tuna Tartar, a mushroom & prosciutto pizza and the tuna nicoise. We highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner, and definitely ask for Kimberly!

Very good service and food. They served hotel guests by the pool or the beach while welcoming people that is walking by. The place is always packed but overall quality continued to be great during the 30 days we stayed at the hotel. The manager, Bruno, is always looking at providing customers with the best experience.
Coconut water, mojitos, salads, pizza and the lobster tempura were my favorites!

We wanted something casual, because we were at a conference, and we really were hoping to enjoy something a little less upscale, but with excellent food! And, we came to the right place.
Pros:
We liked the atmosphere of this restaurant and resort better than the one that we were staying at! It truly felt like a resort. Beachy and fun and very tropical!
The happy hour specials were delightful, and they certainly helped save on the budget. Miami Beach is an expensive destination, so the specials were welcome on the wallet. I tried both the sunrise and sunset special drinks. I wish I had snapped a photo, because one was orange and one was blue, both beautiful. We also got the happy hour wings, and I ordered the two dollar oysters. I would’ve ordered another dozen, but my dinner companions only had one appetizer, and I didn’t want to hold up the meal.
My main meal was the wild tuna tartare, and it was so fresh. Honestly the best I’ve ever had, and I have been to tartar bars!
The server was knowledgeable and friendly but not pushy. I deeply dislike when I ask a server what their favorite menu item is, and they say something like “I don’t eat here“ but she was quick to say that the tuna tartare was really the way to go. When it arrived, we all agreed that I “won” dinner! Her recommendation was on-point, and it was fresh and beautiful and a very large portion.
The salmon pizza was also beautifully flavored.
Cons:
The pasta fra diavola was OK but nothing to write home about.
I would’ve liked to see a few more happy hour drink options. Apart from the two aforementioned cocktails, there was a rosé and a draft beer, but it would’ve been nice to have more. One white wine special and one red wine special and one sangria special would be a nice addition.

It’s kind of tough to find Bungalow by the Sea with the construction on the boardwalk but you can enter through the lobby of the Cadillac Hotel. Bungalow is a casual dining and drinks area surrounding the two pools of the Cadillac. The menu is limited bar type food but we enjoyed the flatbread pizza we shared. It’s a great place to relax with drinks and there are all kinds of seating options - from tables and chairs to rattan seating groupings to cabanas. Our service was a bit slow but no real complaints and we would like to go back to try their gourmet popsicles!

We had a couple cabanas for a bachelorette and Kimberley was so attentive! There were a few people serving us but she’d always confirm our orders and make sure everything was perfect. Couldn’t ask for a better experience! Loved our cabanas and the pool and we were so close to the beach. Would 100% come back!

Service ok. Venue nice. Food was good. Was a bit taken aback when drinks were served in paper cups. Then, tho not hotel guests, a 14% resort fee was added to our bill. Outrageous!!! Will not return!! I’m happy to pay a resort fee as a hotel guest when hotel facilities are available to me. But it’s inappropriate for walk in diners to be charged this fee without disclosing it up front. I will not go back.
