Las Palmas has quick and easy fare for downtown Miami business folk, including conference attendees at nearby hotels (like me). The prices alone could give this restaurant a five, but the quality of the food (just fine) and service (uninterested) rate a three. So, while...I had high hopes based upon other reviews, those hopes were dashed.More
The most EXQUISITE food you will find here. Any special Cuban food is BETTER here than anywhere else. Best price. Actually, you could eat here 6 days a week and still be cheaper and better than cooking at home or buying elsewhere.
Las Palmas is a tiny place with a walk up window, an old-school lunch counter, and a few tables. It's not really a cafeteria, which implies serving yourself and paying before you eat - it's just a small restaurant. It was fun to watch the...locals come to the window for a Cuban coffee and chat with the barista, but my Spanish wasn't good enough to follow the conversations. I think I was the only tourist present, and probably the only person who ordered in English, but the friendly staff made me feel welcome. My order came quickly from a tiny kitchen visible through the serving hatch in the kitchen door, and my Cubano especial was really good. Cans and bottles of soda and beer are available. This is a great place for a quick, authentic Cuban lunch in downtown Miami.More
This place is open only for breakfast and lunch and room is tight. Great authentic Cuban food and exceptional value. Some staff do not speak English, so take that into consideration. Fabulous coffee as well
Just like everyone said! A little hole in the wall with great cuban food. The bread is terrific, the coloda was perfect, the rice and beans were authentic and flavorful. We had the breakfast sandwich, steak and eggs, colada, side of rice and beans...all for...less than $15. They were making fresh orange juice the whole time, if you're interested.
Definitely ecceeded my expectations!More
