This is not a gourmet restaurant by any means, but if you want to go with the family for a huge meal, this is the place. In addition, they have excellent breakfast and Cuban sandwiches. Best to go hungry, and not in a hurry as service can be slow at peak hours. Prices are moderate.

Our family of 12 were hungry after a Marlins game and we knew that La Carreta would be a great place to satisfy our appetites. Even though it was Saturday night, we were accommodated without any waiting. Our meals varied from cafe con leche y tostadas with a couple of their famous croquettes to a bistec empanizado where two hungry... More

This is a must do for us anytime we are in Miami. The cuban cafe con leche is delicious. They serve the steamed milk in a cup and the espresso separately in a tiny metal pitcher. This way you can customize it to your liking. The cuban buttered toast is served hot fresh off the press. A perfect combination to... More

As soon as I land I head on over to La Carreta to get me my Cuban sandwich fix. I come here several times throughout my trip. The ropa vieja is also good.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our Cuban Uber driver and when we asked around many local people vouched for his choice. We walked from Little Havana -- it took about 45 minutes but we needed to build an appetite. The mojitos were the best I've ever had with large pieces of sugar cane. The ropa vieja was great,... I can never visit Miami without visiting this gem of a restaurant. As authentic as cuban food gets! Went in for lunch, we were a large group and were seated quickly. Waitress was very attentive and fast. Food came out quickly, I ordered the palomilla steak with white rice, tostones and yuca con mojo. Everything was delicious and best of... More

Pleasantly surprised to find myself at the gate just opposite La Carreta. In addition we still had quite a number of AA vouchers. I have known and enjoyed La Carreta as long as I can remember, and therefore encouraged the rest of the family to go and eat there. The only ones that were disappointed were the ones that went... The cafe con leche is perfect, the pastelitos are fresh and delicious and the ropa vieja is pretty legit. I always make a stop here even if it's just to get something from the ready made to go area.

I have been eating at this place basically all of my life. The garlic bread is literally a childhood memory and still tastes the same after all these years. Its definitely a place that could use some updating but then again I would hate for it to look different. The food is good and not expensive. We were a table... More
