I was born and raised in Miami and it is very hard to find: good service, great food, great pricing, AND great ambiance and live music… La Cañita hits ALL of those spots !
I’m Cuban and it is very hard to find a Cuban restaurant that isn’t over done but this place still brings that unique and beautiful Cuban touch with actually amazing music.
Rodrigo my server, just wow he is incredible. I’ve worked in luxury hotels and restaurants and he is exceptional. Words can’t describe his attentiveness and timing.
Food was great, chef you are *chefs kiss* The fish sandwich (which I am always skeptical about in touristy areas and in general) was AMAZING didn’t taste fishy at all, flavors were great. Margarita pitchers are great, bartenders doing a great job really putting their time into everything.
All in all, amazing amazing place. DEFINITELY coming back. Please please don’t change anything it is perfect 🙏🏼🥺

We are Broward County residents and aren't very familiar with the Miami area (even though we are only 30 mins away🤷🏽♀️)! We walked around Bayside and found our way to La Cañita. Everything was amazing! From the service, to the food, to the ambience. Joselito was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu!
We enjoyed the Smoked Wahoo fish dip and all three varities of empanadas as our appetizers. As our entree we shared the local fish of the day which was Red Snapper sautéed in vanilla rum butter. Served with coconut rice, roast squash and breadfruit, black eyed peas with a curry sauce. Everything was absolutely 😋 We even ordered more empanadas and fish dip to enjoy at home!! Can't wait to visit again soon! ☺

Me and some friends were visiting Miami for the week and we went to La Cañita for some Latin food. Ray David was our waiter and I just gotta say, the food was bomb, but the waiter was amazingg. He was very charismatic which made the whole visit quite enjoyable, he was super friendly and made sure we were all happy with our food. We all loved him. If you go to La Cañita, make sure you have Ray David as your waiter!!

We were strolling through the Bayside Marketplace when we walked passed this restaurant. The ambiance and live band immediately caught our attention and we decided to give it a try.
La Cañita has a nice variety of food and drinks, enough to choose from but not too overwhelming. We were a family of six of which only one was familiar with Caribbean and Cuban food. Our waitress Nicole was very helpful with explaining all the dishes. Being a waitress myself I know how annoying it can get sometimes when too many questions are being asked especially when it’s busy, but she was very nice and patient.
Everything was really quick, we didn’t have to wait too long for our drinks and dishes. Food was amazing, reasonable prices and good portions. Drink were also delicious!
Would come back to this restaurant at any given time.

We were two families in a day trip organized by Miami Tours and we were late due to their organization. Nevertheless they forgot or were not able to serve one person only at the table. That person did not eat and she was very unhappy. At the end they tried to excuse themselves and offered a free cake, but did not offer free cutlery or napkins. The cake couldn’t have been eaten otherwise and ended up in trash bin…very unprofessional
A very bad experience. Be aware if you choose to select Miami Tours and this restaurant for the lunch…

We love Michelle Bernstein's restaurants and have been to most of them. Never precious, always with interesting takes on food preparation that delights and surprises. Who can forget her grilled cauliflower steaks at a prior restaurant.
We ate here before the Heat game on a week night. The interior is still left over from the prior Hofbrau House and is dark and a bit gloomy and maybe a bit sticky. They still have the beer though and that was excellent. We had beef empanadas, a Caesar salad with chicken and it was well cooked and very flavorful The other entree was the grilled snapper. A very generous snapper and perfectly grilled with excellent roasted veggies. The cafe con leche was nice and warm although never strong enough for me. All in all a very nice addition to Bayside and will beat the other dining options before events at the Arena. They even have outside seating!!

We have been here two times while on two different vacations. The food and service are special. Today, hubby and I stopped by for Happy Hour — a couple of drinks and snacks (no Happy Hour Specials.) Maribel was our server. She very graciously offered us a sample of a food we had questions about. We ordered the beef empanadas and the smashed avocado/plantain chips with the queen’s margaritas. The margaritas were excellent— tart with fresh citrus plus a touch of Grand Marnier. The smashed avocado was fresh and seasoned/salted perfectly. The accompanying plantain chips were a perfect complement. The empanadas had a light, crispy crust with a well-seasoned shredded roast beef and were served fresh and hot (not microwaved.) We will come here again if we have a chance.

We returned again on our next trip to Miami. We love the setting by the water in the Bayside Marketplace. Very nice and relaxing, especially at night. Food and drinks are super tasty, and all the staff are very helpful in explaining the menu.

Stopped in at this cute restaurant at Bayside Marketplace for Happy Hour and snacks. Sat at the bar to take advantage of the Happy Hour pricing of cocktails. We had margaritas made at the bar in front of us. Very tasty, and a good price of $7 during this time. We ordered various appetizers and the coconut breaded shrimp. Not impressed with the apps, and the orders of fried shrimp were very over cooked and quite tasteless. We asked if there might be a dip or something available to add taste. No, Only a small dish of pineapple salsa was on the plates. Dry hard, dry and very crunchie. No flavour of coconut.
The bartender asked us how everything was, and we said rather disappointing, and tasteless. His drinks were great. The bill was presented and we were rather shocked to see a mandatory addition of 20%gratuity had been added to our bill. We paid, and left. We were going to stay and watch the live band at 5:30 but decided against it after the presentation of the bill. We would not have voluntarily left a 20% tip for this bar experience.
We assume this is an expensive, touristy area, and will not return on our next visit.

A new delicious addition to Bayside Marketplace! An authentic Cuban restaurant with great food, affordable prices and attentive service!!
Not a tourist trap like so many others at Bayside!
Spectacular Views from the large wrap around outdoor seating area and even from the inside dining room. It’s absolutely beautiful inside! The bar is amazing!
I was there on Sunday at 12:30pm. Lot’s of outside options for me and puppy.. it wasn’t too busy yet.. music was starting at 1:00pm so it was the quiet before the storm..
I was greeted by a charming welcoming hostess who gave me my outdoor options.. I had a great view! She brought puppy a bowl of fresh water as soon as we were seated! Fabulous! Very pet friendly!
My server was a young charming man named Juaquin.. amazing service! Very attentive and informative.
I ordered my favorite.. a Coconut Mojito while I reviewed the menu.
Some of the reviews I read said the drinks were watery.. definitely not mine.. my Mojito was very strong and delicious! I actually added extra ice..
enjoying the view and beautiful cool weather, I wasn’t rushed to order.
The restaurant and outdoor dining area are clean and spotless.. as opposed to many others at Bayside.
I ordered the Spinach and cheese empanadas. Wow! The best value!
They came out piping hot, crispy and perfectly cooked! I broke into the hard shell exterior to find a creamy very cheesy spinach filling. Filled with flavor and so tasty. I literally was full eating both of them. I couldn’t leave without trying the Flan. I asked for it without the papaya.
It was also delicious. A rich custardy creamy flan, not to be missed!
The music started inside and was very enjoyable!
If you go to Miami Bayside please try this amazing restaurant! Food, drinks, view, entertainment and great service! Pet friendly too!

Christopher waited on us and we wanted for nothing, he was very attentive and quick. The Cuban, ropa vieja & lechon sandwiches were big! Nicely made, delicious. The empanada app & side of coconut rice were “wonderful” according to my husband & he doesn’t say that often! Bit pricey, but the servings large & location on bay worth it.

Visited La Canita on 4th July. The place was buzzing, Latino band playing authentic music, placed was buzzing, service was fantastic by Kendall R. Kendallc recommended the fillet, ribeye, sirloin steak extravanaganza on a board. He then really looked after throughout the meal
Food, service and atmosphere all top quality in the buzzing trendy bayside area of Miami. Would highly recommend

We were on a quick vacation to the area and looking for a place to grab dinner. As we were walking by the restaurant it looked like it had a great atmosphere and the food smelled delicious. We sat outside which had a great view of the bay. The coconut mojito was so good, as was the sangria our server Henry suggested. We received superb service, food was delicious. I especially appreciated the attentiveness of our server and the warm napkin at the end as well! We were happy to share our experience with a group of friends who were looking for recommendations on where to eat. Thanks for a great meal and service!

Stopped in here waiting for our boat tour. We had conch fritters, ceviche, watermelon salad and a chicken sandwich. Everything was outstanding. The crackers that were served with the ceviche were made from scratch. Outstanding and the service was excellent!

Horrible experience. Food was gross. Luke warm food, very much inedible. Bowl of beans with crumbled chips is $12 “soup”. Couldn’t get half the menu because they were repping for a big event later. No band. Rude about ordering dinner when we had a reservation…They rushed us out for a private event. Bad atmosphere overall. If you’re closed just be closed. Pretty annoyed about this one.
