Nearly a year after closing its Collins Avenue location, the iconic 40-year-old Cuban cafe alights on Alton Road, settling into a smaller SoBe space with blue-and-black tiled floors and its signature walk-up window where locals get their morning cafecito fix. The menu includes breakfast staples like fried eggs and bacon, plus classics like Cubano Sandwich and churrasco (grilled beef) that never grow old.

David’s Cafe is still open during this crazy time, and I am so grateful for that. The food is fantastic. Be sure to check out their lunch specials. On the menu today? Ropa Vieja. I also got two of their croquetas de jamón which were...More

Going to David’s Cafe since 2012 and always have a great experience. The food is always homemade and tastes like a Cuban grandma makes it every morning.

Where possible I like to get out of the hotel and find local eateries for breakfast. The type of place locals come to everyday. David’s is one of those no frills place. It’s on the corner and looks like an old fashioned diner. We arrived...More

Imagine: really great food (masitas de puerco, a variety of hot dishes, tostones, flan and other desserts, sandwiches, really a huge choice, and everything delicious), parking right by the entrance, great location, good service, reasonably prices. What a find! From breakfast to lunch and dinner!...More

Stopped in here for breakfast on the Sunday of our weekend in Miami, it was a delight! The restaurant servers were familiar with a lot of the patrons (clearly is a locals joint in addition to serving tourists), the service was incredibly friendly and the...More

Came in and ordered some french toast. 30 minutes later I asked for the orange juice that was supposed to come with my breakfast. It literally took 10 minutes to get my oj. About 5 minutes later the food finally came. It was decent for...More

I'll admit, I don't speak Spanish, however, I didn't think it would impact my recent breakfast as much as it did. I don't drink coffee (& told our server who resembled Johnny Depp in his Pirates phase) but I received one anyway. I also ordered...More

Service was slow. Food is tasty. If you are looking for some good smooth Cuban coffee and have time to spare, check this place out. Marcos was our server and he seemed to be in his own world. He wasn't helping the other gentlemen. I...More

We had our favorite Cuban sandwiches. It’s our last stop out of town. My son ordered a sandwich to go for the flight home. The cortadito coffee was the best way to end our meal. It’s not a fancy place but has great home food...More

Very friendly staff! The food was good, I tried the Cafecito cuban wrap, with white rice, black beans, sweet plantains and chicken. Very good the cuban beer Hatuey.
