About
Nearly a year after closing its Collins Avenue location, the iconic 40-year-old Cuban cafe alights on Alton Road, settling into a smaller SoBe space with blue-and-black tiled floors and its signature walk-up window where locals get their morning cafecito fix. The menu includes breakfast staples like fried eggs and bacon, plus classics like Cubano Sandwich and churrasco (grilled beef) that never grow old.

David’s Cafe is still open during this crazy time, and I am so grateful for that. The food is fantastic. Be sure to check out their lunch specials. On the menu today? Ropa Vieja. I also got two of their croquetas de jamón which were...excellent. Their cafécito- the reason we went there in the first place- was awesome and gave us the caffeine kick we’ve been craving. Highly recommend for a classic Cuban restaurant with incredible food.More

Going to David’s Cafe since 2012 and always have a great experience. The food is always homemade and tastes like a Cuban grandma makes it every morning.

Where possible I like to get out of the hotel and find local eateries for breakfast. The type of place locals come to everyday. David’s is one of those no frills place. It’s on the corner and looks like an old fashioned diner. We arrived...a little later than most normally for breakfast. The food is simple traditional Cuban breakfast. The steak(rare) and eggs was cooked to perfection. Coffee was good. Service was ok. Prices were very reasonable.More

Imagine: really great food (masitas de puerco, a variety of hot dishes, tostones, flan and other desserts, sandwiches, really a huge choice, and everything delicious), parking right by the entrance, great location, good service, reasonably prices. What a find! From breakfast to lunch and dinner!...Most of the recipes come from Adrian's grandmother, which really makes it a special place!More

Stopped in here for breakfast on the Sunday of our weekend in Miami, it was a delight! The restaurant servers were familiar with a lot of the patrons (clearly is a locals joint in addition to serving tourists), the service was incredibly friendly and the...food was well priced and yummy. The best cafe con leche of our trip! I will definitely visit again when we are back in Miami.More

Came in and ordered some french toast. 30 minutes later I asked for the orange juice that was supposed to come with my breakfast. It literally took 10 minutes to get my oj. About 5 minutes later the food finally came. It was decent for...the price otherwise this place would get one star for sure. Realized after the food came I was supposed to get a coffee with my meal too. Needless to say I didn't even ask. Just paid the bill and left. Over an hour for french toast.More

I'll admit, I don't speak Spanish, however, I didn't think it would impact my recent breakfast as much as it did. I don't drink coffee (& told our server who resembled Johnny Depp in his Pirates phase) but I received one anyway. I also ordered...the eggs with corned beef hash and grits; I don't think they get many requests for grits (despite it being an option on the menu) as the server seemed to question my choice. When he asked if I wanted bacon, I said no which he apparently interpreted as no meat at all, so I didn't get the corned beef hash either. Service seemed slow but it also seemed like he was the only waitperson in the place (besides the gal working the counter).More

Service was slow. Food is tasty. If you are looking for some good smooth Cuban coffee and have time to spare, check this place out. Marcos was our server and he seemed to be in his own world. He wasn't helping the other gentlemen. I...went to eat here twice during my 5 day stay so that says plenty about the cuisine. Just super slow service. Visited 8/15 & 8/18 2019.More

We had our favorite Cuban sandwiches. It’s our last stop out of town. My son ordered a sandwich to go for the flight home. The cortadito coffee was the best way to end our meal. It’s not a fancy place but has great home food...flavors. The service was very personal. It’s miami, the service is Island time.More

Very friendly staff! The food was good, I tried the Cafecito cuban wrap, with white rice, black beans, sweet plantains and chicken. Very good the cuban beer Hatuey.

David's has been on our 'great' list for many years since before it relocated. It's super for food and does a great Cuban sandwich. Definitly one to pop in to. I'd recommend it for sure.

The cafe con leche and cuban toast were wonderful. Everything else, just ok. We came here for breakfast & should have gone somewhere else.

Food was good, not great. Omelettes were a bit overdone however the hash browns were so, so tasty. I had a steak sandwich - a bit tough, but tasty. the fries were crispy, just like I liked them. Sammy, our waiter, was the best. It...seems like a really local place. I want to give it a 3 1/2, but since no choice, I upped the mark!More
