The menu of Italian dinners is extensive and varied. The Chicken Sorrentino with fire roasted red peppers, mushrooms, eggplant, and mozzarella was tasty, but the cut of chicken had dark meat and was ok, but not the best. The angel hair pasta I chose was...fresh and appropriately sized, but not so much I could take some home. I will go back to try more. The items in the bakery case looked absolutely scrumptious. The Boston Cream Pie looked better than anything I've seen in Boston. I brought some home, but I will have to update the review after I've tried it.More
Very bad service from a Racist server. I always like to support small businesses, so decided to stop in for a quick lunch. We just walked out before being served our water. The server didn't even properly greet us and just shoved my cutlery to...me (literally). My husband was so disgusted by her attitude, so we just left. If you're a person of color don't go to this restaurant!!!!!The restaurant was empty during lunch hour so they weren't even busy. We just walked over to Hemingways next door, which was much busier with amazing service!More
This has been the best for OVER 35 years! Yes the service can be slow from time to time, but I have not found any place that comes close for food quality or portion size!
Worst service ever (best food ever), I have been to this restaurant over 10 times and the service is always slow, but I deal with it because the food is amazing. The problem this time was we arrived at 8:27pm when they close at 9pm...according to the website. The open sign was on and a couple was seated outside. I peaked my head in and asked if they were closed and they said yes they were closed. Now I drive over half an hour everytime while on vacation to go to this restaurant and usually spend over 300 dollars everytime. Very disappointed and will not be back.More
Were going to Hemingway's but wait was huge so came here. Had lovely outdoor patio seating. Food was good, reasonable pricing. Little shop had lots f nice items, indoor seating and a lovely selection f desserts and take-aways. Had picked out a dessert but the...waiter was rushed and brought the bill before we could order and store wasn't closing.More
Located in The Oaks Plaza which is a very attractive location complete with a movie theatre, Ben & Jerry's and Hemingway's Tavern. It was a beautiful day and dining Al Fresco was so enjoyable. We had a very attentive waiter and our food off the...Lunch menu was a perfect portion at a reasonable price. The bread was delicious. So was the iced tea. After lunch we went inside and picked out some cookies from the bakery to take home. They were a little too good!!!! Looking forward to our return which will be soon for sure!!!More
We had dinner there on a recommendation of a local resident. Lobster special 6 ravioli about 1.5 inches round. They were very disappointing. Tasted fishy, not like lobster. The special was 22.95 Ouch Combination 1 stuffed shell, 1 small piece of lasagna, 1 ravioli. 17.96...This was okay The bread was good, service was good. Very cleanMore
The food my cousin and I ate there was delicious. Our waiter was polite and courteous. Will definitely go back.
Heard a lot about this place so wife and I decided to try it out. Pricies are a bit steep. Service was very good. First ordered Sangrias. They were awesome. Freshly made. We noticed on the menu everything is ala carte. We did get fresh...bread and butter but if you want oil for dipping it would be an extra $3.95. I ordered the lasagna and wife ordered the baked ziti. I never had lasagna like this. There was only one layer of pasta. It had a layer of sauce then meat then a layer of pasta then ricotta cheese followed by layer of melted cheese and sauce. It looked very flat and lasagna i have had was a minimum of 3 layers. When we asked the waitress she stated that the chef said it was always like that. We asked because we thought maybe they forgot a few layers. Wife had ziti which was ok but there was sauce on one side and mostly cheese on the other. Good portions. Bottomline is we were not impressed and wont return.More
Authentic Italian. Don't come if you can't handle real Italians either. They don't really want your 2 cents, so save it.
We were in a party of 8. Without going into great detail, I'll just say the food was OK, nothing special. We've all eaten at many,, many Italian restaurants over the years, including in Italy, and everyone gave their meal a 'C' grade. But a...couple of things lowered the grade and sealed our decision about not returning. I don't eat butter. So when the bread arrived, I asked our waitress for a little olive oil instead of butter. She said something like "You want it for dipping?" I said yes, and she returned with a small ceramic rectangular bowl containing a few ounces of EVOO. When I got the check, I saw that I'd been charged $4 for it. If someone says you should have to pay for that, I won't argue. But I'll also say it's the first time that's ever happened, and at the least the waitress should have said there was a charge for it. (I know that when people say "It's not about the money," it's about the money, but really, this is about the principle of padding the bill.) When I told everyone at the table about it, we had a good laugh. Next, some of us ordered coffee/cappuccino. It took a long, long time for it to arrive, to the point that one of us flagged down the manager and mentioned the wait. His response was something like "Well, your table has our best waitress." (OK,, but that's not getting our coffee to the table.) I understand with covid, etc., it''s hard to get help and that sometimes affects service, but his response should have been, "I'll check on it," or something like that. Predictably, when the coffee finally did arrive, everyone's was cold, indicating it had been poured and sitting for a long time. We thought about complaining, but we joked that if we did, the manager would just tell us we had the best waitress.More
I have given this place so many chances. We arrived around 1 on a Saturday. The hostess was very flustered and didn't acknowledge us for several minutes even though we were standing right in front of her. A waitress came out and helped her seat...us. My husband had the philly cheesesteak which was ok and I had a pizza which I didn't care for. Our waitress was very kind and efficient. However as our meal went on the hostess sat on her bum and bossed the male waiter around. Finally he had enough and they had it out in front of all of the patrons. Very unprofessional and not an enjoyable meal at all.More
Shame on me for thinking things had gotten better. I don't know how this establishment stays in business, except perhaps for its great location and setting. From my encounter with the owner it appears to all starts with him and his "take it or leave...it" attitude. I left feeling like I had just been taken advantage of and will never go back to Pane E Vino again. There are other great choices in Melbourne.More
Located in a beautiful shopping center, this was a surprise. We had planned to go to another restaurant but when told it was a 55 minute wait, we walked down the mall and were seated fairly quickly. The wait staff was great although the place...seemed a bit disorganized. I ordered veal saltimbocca which was excellent, but different than others I’ve had. My friend ordered veal sorrento which was rich and very tasty. Excellent wine list reasonably priced. They have a huge dessert case - can’t leave without trying something!More
