Heard a lot about this place so wife and I decided to try it out. Pricies are a bit steep. Service was very good. First ordered Sangrias. They were awesome. Freshly made. We noticed on the menu everything is ala carte. We did get fresh...bread and butter but if you want oil for dipping it would be an extra $3.95. I ordered the lasagna and wife ordered the baked ziti. I never had lasagna like this. There was only one layer of pasta. It had a layer of sauce then meat then a layer of pasta then ricotta cheese followed by layer of melted cheese and sauce. It looked very flat and lasagna i have had was a minimum of 3 layers. When we asked the waitress she stated that the chef said it was always like that. We asked because we thought maybe they forgot a few layers. Wife had ziti which was ok but there was sauce on one side and mostly cheese on the other. Good portions. Bottomline is we were not impressed and wont return.More

Authentic Italian. Don't come if you can't handle real Italians either. They don't really want your 2 cents, so save it.

We were in a party of 8. Without going into great detail, I'll just say the food was OK, nothing special. We've all eaten at many,, many Italian restaurants over the years, including in Italy, and everyone gave their meal a 'C' grade. But a...couple of things lowered the grade and sealed our decision about not returning. I don't eat butter. So when the bread arrived, I asked our waitress for a little olive oil instead of butter. She said something like "You want it for dipping?" I said yes, and she returned with a small ceramic rectangular bowl containing a few ounces of EVOO. When I got the check, I saw that I'd been charged $4 for it. If someone says you should have to pay for that, I won't argue. But I'll also say it's the first time that's ever happened, and at the least the waitress should have said there was a charge for it. (I know that when people say "It's not about the money," it's about the money, but really, this is about the principle of padding the bill.) When I told everyone at the table about it, we had a good laugh. Next, some of us ordered coffee/cappuccino. It took a long, long time for it to arrive, to the point that one of us flagged down the manager and mentioned the wait. His response was something like "Well, your table has our best waitress." (OK,, but that's not getting our coffee to the table.) I understand with covid, etc., it''s hard to get help and that sometimes affects service, but his response should have been, "I'll check on it," or something like that. Predictably, when the coffee finally did arrive, everyone's was cold, indicating it had been poured and sitting for a long time. We thought about complaining, but we joked that if we did, the manager would just tell us we had the best waitress.More

I have given this place so many chances. We arrived around 1 on a Saturday. The hostess was very flustered and didn't acknowledge us for several minutes even though we were standing right in front of her. A waitress came out and helped her seat...us. My husband had the philly cheesesteak which was ok and I had a pizza which I didn't care for. Our waitress was very kind and efficient. However as our meal went on the hostess sat on her bum and bossed the male waiter around. Finally he had enough and they had it out in front of all of the patrons. Very unprofessional and not an enjoyable meal at all.More

Shame on me for thinking things had gotten better. I don't know how this establishment stays in business, except perhaps for its great location and setting. From my encounter with the owner it appears to all starts with him and his "take it or leave...it" attitude. I left feeling like I had just been taken advantage of and will never go back to Pane E Vino again. There are other great choices in Melbourne.More

Located in a beautiful shopping center, this was a surprise. We had planned to go to another restaurant but when told it was a 55 minute wait, we walked down the mall and were seated fairly quickly. The wait staff was great although the place...seemed a bit disorganized. I ordered veal saltimbocca which was excellent, but different than others I’ve had. My friend ordered veal sorrento which was rich and very tasty. Excellent wine list reasonably priced. They have a huge dessert case - can’t leave without trying something!More

I'm now asking myself, "Self, HOW did you NOT know about this place?" After 20+ years of unknowingly driving past this place of sumptuous repast! I'm just humbled that I finally arrived at this bona fide little side of Italy! Door closing behind me, this...portal transported me to a place of deli case and bakery tastes directly off the piazza. A floor to ceiling feeling of venturing into a world of wonder. Immersed in authenticity & aromas that delicately teased, I was set to roam free! Standing spellbound in this deli/bakery/eatery, I fumbled in my pockets, looking for my passport. Had I found passage on a tramp steamer that landed me on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea? We shall see.... Accompanied by a dear friend, our Maestro of the Mangia was the likeable Signor Darren. This man of Italy provided many insights into the possibilities to consider. Mouthwatering descriptions of the mingling of spices, vegetables, pastas and doughs, sauces and such. His guidance was the appetizer to our entrees. After all, a meal is the entire experience! Mentored to a high degree of seasoned neophyte curiosity, I set my sights on a whimsical choice. I chose Chicken Parmesan as my across the ocean potion. To indulge in this dish was my logic. Humbly traditional faire elevated to a new plateau. I was NOT disappointed. As Darren slid the bubbling bevy of ooey gooey rhapsody in front of me, hints of happiness hit my senses. Freshness cannot be masked. Cannot be duplicated with a bouquet of bottled bounce. Each twirl of the tines released the intended response of a talented Chef. I was finding new ways to express myself, in the universal language of epicurean delight. My buon amica? She ordered a complex culinary culmination, as depicted by Darren. A spinach dough ravioli, etc, etc, etc..... Her dish was as light, bright and flavorful as the picture painted for her. I will say that I could sip and sup, waste the day away in this charming Space Coast trattoria. A place that brings one close to being there....More

Never again. This was perhaps one of the worst dining experiences ever. First, it started with the overly cooked bread ( which most likely was stale so they overcompensated by toasting). My family ordered the veal pizziole which was ok. I however ordered the tortellini...dish. It was terrible. There was absolutely no taste and the prosciutto tasted very old. As if that wasn’t bad enough, my mother ordered a lobster tale pastry that was completely filled with MOLD. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the pastry but it was so disgusting that you just want to get off the table. Working in hospitality for the last 30 years, when the FOH can’t produce fresh, clean food, it is usually an indicator of how clean the rest of the restaurant is kept. I cannot even imagine how dirty the back of that restaurant is. The server took the desserts off the menu but honestly, do you really think that was adequate after what happened? The most friendliest person was our food runner. Thank you for your friendliness. We will never return there. Horrible, horrible experienceMore

Pane & Vino has had better days of old...its large and has nice furniture, outdoor and indoor seating ...plenty of it, but what is missing is personality and taste, two strong attributes of a 5 Star restaurant. The deli and dessert section is really great...which...gives a 2 Star a bump to 3 Stars...but that is about all that is left. We had a number of Pasta dishes, most notably a dry Chicken Scarpariello...not terrible and certainly the best of the meals, however the Combination Pasta Plates were like a few different types of meals flung into a dish, mixed around and melted cheese placed on top. It was missing the individuality of the different meals that should taste independent and vibrant.. unfortunately this was not the case. The bread when warm is good...and served with butter pats...and a very garlicky dipping oil can be added for a few dollars. (That still irks us), usually complimentary in a 5 Star restaurant. Our server was attempting to do the needed job...but totally minus personality (which we all know makes ALL the difference. I want to recommend Pane & Vino....but it's becoming increasingly more difficult to do. Perhaps give it a try... it used to be wonderful... Truly...it was!More

We stopped in for lunch and ordered 'Linguini and clams with white sauce'. The clams were good (a serving of 10 medium sized clams), the linguini was 'al dente', but the 'white sauce' was blah - watery with virtually no taste - definitely NOT what...I was hoping for. When our check was presented, I looked and the charge was $13.95 - the menu showed the price as $11.95. I pointed this out to our server, and after about three or four minutes, she returned with a corrected bill.More

Yesterday, June 22, 2821, we stopped for a late lunch. I ordred Spaghetti with one each meatball and sausage. I couldn't eat The sausage or the meatball. The sausage was hard as a rock and the meatball should have had mothballs....just too old. The sauce...was good because it came from a can; I ordered the pasta al dante but it came out overcooked, There was nothing to recommend this dish to anyone as it ws terrible! My wife ordered a pizza with the lousy sausage and the crust was thick and very hard. She tried to eat it but it was like a slab of concrete! I told the waitress......nothing. She ased us if we wanted a box! I talked to the very old owner and he said to call ahead next time and he'd make certain everything was okay. I didn't insist on a no charge for the food (the wine was ok) but he wasn't giving anything. We will never go back to sample the efforts ever again. Too many other places that we KNOW are always good because they have a chef who is particular about what goes out the kitchen and to the diners' tables. Miss this one!More

This restaurant has a pretty extensive menu. The starters are great, especially the mussels in white wine sauce. We were a group of 12 so we had many different entrees all were either great or fabulous. I had a veal dish and I don't normally...like or order it. Glad I did as it was fantastic. And the desserts, oh my! In case for you to see and drool for. The only problem is you are so full you can barely touch your selection. No problem, get it in a box and enjoy dinner again when ready. Don't miss going hereMore
