Tely's ambience is pleasant, though the acoustics create a loud din of conversations. Service was attentive and professional. The steamed shrimp dumplings were okay. The butterflied & fried Snow White Prawns were bland & non-descript, rescued solely by the deliciously creative sweet creamy pineapple mayonnaise...sauce (which would be better served with regular shrimp.) The Sa Cha Shrimp Casserole with bell peppers, mushrooms, and onion in a tasty sauce was a much better choice. Tely's is upscale Chinese with upscale pricing.More

Tely's Chinese Restaurant 6450 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32940 4.5 Stars Feeling a tad esurient, I steeled my nerves and proceeded OTB for a visit to Tely's Chinese Restaurant in Suntree (Melbourne). The people who respect food and dining are the ones I respect....The ones who, through the art of practiced ereption, steal from the general dining public by wiping their feet on the industry are the ones I write nasty things about. Thankfully, Tely Tse, the owner of Tely's Chinese Restaurant and the owner of former Brevard giant Yen Yen is one of those restaurateurs I highly respect. After 18 years at Yen Yen and 8 more here, Tely is doing many things right. Danielle is our wait staff today, and while this fine example of a lady has a pulse of zero, do not let that fool you or put you off, as she does not suffer in the least from ergasiophobia. She performed her duties with outstanding professionalism. I asked Danielle for an order of the whole fried fish, scallops in their XO sauce, Snow White Prawns and a bowl of Hot and Sour Soup. Relaxing with the place's vibe, I sat back, snapped some pictures and eagerly awaited Danielle's return. My wait was within an acceptable time frame. I soon found myself basking in the delectable aromas that assaulted my olfactory senses as Danielle set my order on the table. I have to direct your eyes to the pictures at this point. If that is not an artistic culinary presentation, I don't know what is. Everything is screaming freshness and was made on-site. I assure you, everything smelled as good as it looked. Anticipatorily, I grabbed my tools of dietary obliteration and got to work. I had asked for my whole fried fish to be served in their Chinese Black Bean Sauce. Traditionally, this sauce is made from douchi (fermented black soybeans), garlic, and soy sauce. It is then simmered down to a delectable slightly thick sauce. Tely's nailed it. The fish was fried to a deliciousness not often experienced and the sauce was amazingly flavorful. Forcing myself to move on, I turned my attention to the Scallops in XO sauce. XO sauce is considered one of the most expensive, prestigious and luxurious sauces in Hong Kong Cuisine. It is customarily made from dried scallops, dried shrimp, fine smoked ham, chili, garlic, lemongrass and other seasonings. The menu clearly states “No refund and return on any dishes that are cooked with the XO sauce,” which, of course, made me want to try it. I mean, how can something touted as having such luxurious taste be made in such a way that someone would return it? After one bite, I wasn't sure. The second one allowed me to begin to form an opinion and the third one had me on the bandwagon. This has to be one of the most exotic and flavorful sauces I have ever had the pleasure of scarfing down. Wow is about all I can say. Moving on, albeit regretfully, I forked a prawn and popped it in my cake hole. These are Tely's take on the traditional Chinese creamy-style shrimp. Once again, Tely proclaims his sovereignty over Middle Kingdom cuisine in Brevard County with this outstanding dish. Suffice it to say everything was marvelously prepared and obviously done so with love. Least I forget, the Hot and Sour soup here is the real deal. This is not something Panda Express made to suit what some corporate suit thinks Americans want or expect in ethnic food. The Big Boy says, “Anytime you want to experience the best Brevard has to offer in Hong Kong cuisine, go to Tely's Chinese Restaurant.”More

This place is very popular. The owner truly shows pride having been in business 33 years. MAKE A RESERVATION. We didn’t do so but we’re able to get in after a short wait. Seaweed salad and fried dumplings with cheese were big standouts.

The best authentic Chinese food around. Nowhere can come close to their egg fu young. Their eggrolls and spring rolls are fresh and fried when you order them. So delicious. We also had the general tso's chicken and it was also very good. The mongolian...beef is also excellent. We have not had anything that we were not absolutely crazy about.More

If you like over-salted food, then you'll love this place. I had chicken lo mein and it was very salty and the noodles tasted like my wife's shrimp lo mein. Cooked in same pan? Didn't care for it at all. Wouldn't go back.

Read good reviews about Tepley’s so was looking forward to it. Ordered carry out for two couples. Here’s our experience: Tong Chu Chicken (sweet & sour) - Chicken was tough making it unappetizing from the first bite. Flavor was good but the strawberry and kiwi...didn’t add anything to the dish. Beef with Orange Peel - Beef was very good and tender. And the sauce was flavorful but overly sweet. Would prefer half the sweet. Pineapple Fried Rice - Our order showed up with shrimp in it, which we didn’t order or want. Fried twice was average with only the slightest hint of pineapple. Maybe they just gave us the wrong order? Chicken Fried Rice - This was a take home order and for my wife who hasn’t tried it yet so I can’t review it. Bottom line: Tepley’s is slightly above average. They have the right idea but need to execute better.More

We had been visiting Yen Yen in Cocoa Beach since it opened 30 years ago, but last year learned it had been closed in 2020. This year we found Tely's, owned by the same family as Yen Yen. Menu was not quite the same, but...much more interesting. Our dishes were Special Won Ton Soup for 2 (holdover from Yen Yen), Mongolian Beef and Pumpkin Shrimp. Soup had lots of ingredients, plentiful, if a bit on the pricy side for soup. Beef was listed as spicy on the menu, so we requested mild. It turned out too mild, so next time we'll get it medium. It was still very good. Pumpkin shrimp was delicious The dish had at least a dozen plump shrimp, served with diced pumpkin. I asked what kind of "squash" it was, and was told it was really a type of pumpkin. It was made with a brown sauce with sesame seeds, tasty, not sweet. Both dishes served with a generous portion of rice. The website doesn't say so, but they do take reservations by phone. Small place, so reservation recommended even on a week night. We thought prices for main courses were very fair for the quality and quantity.More

Tely’s is one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in Florida! The food is simply delicious. We especially like the fried pumpkin slices and vegetable spring rolls, the tender and flavorful chicken and beef entrees and the fresh shrimp fried rice. Tely’s has a wonderful menu...of classic and unique items and you can also ask the chef to create / customize an entree for you. Great service, delicious food , all in a peaceful environment!More

Tely's Chinese Restaurant continues to offer upscale, extremely tasty and beautifully presented cuisine as usual. We had the opportunity to experience and enjoy it again with some great friends on Easter Sunday, and there was no place I would rather have dined. Our reserved seating...was perfectly on time, and our server was friendly and efficient, just as other servers at Tely's establishment have always been. We started with some Egg Rolls, no one does them better than Tely's...and also had some Honey Roast Pork and Pork Steamed Dumplings as an appetizer for the table. Absolutely delicious, both! For entrees, an assortment of Chicken dishes (different types) and Shrimp Fried Rice which was beautifully prepared. In our opinion, the reason the restaurant always knocks it out of the park is that everything going on is under the watchful eye of Tely himself.. He seems always present and works as hard as any successful owner of a business would. He visits tables comprised of his clients and friends to make sure that all is 'just perfect.' We urge you to visit Tely's soon as this Chinese Restaurant is unlike any other that I know of. You can order Take-Out and eat at home if you prefer...but dining at Tely's will certainly put you in a great relaxed mood!More

Husband and I tried a new place and were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food was even better. The portions are perfect and the atmosphere was clean. I can’t say enough good things. The Mongolian Beef was tender and just the right...amount of spice. Their new take on sweet and sour chicken was excellent. Instead of peppers and pineapple they used strawberries and kiwi! Wasn’t sure how it would taste. However, I now can’t see eating it any other way!More

VERY Expensive Chinese food. 1st time at Tely's **$63** for what we normally order at our usual place costs us about $30. My wife found this place online and chose it because of the reviews but we hadn't been there before and there were no...prices in the online menu ( I should have known - no price on menu = too expensive). My wife called and put the order in ( Still NO price quote - cause if they would have said, I would have cancelled it ) we were told it would be 45 minutes - kinda long for a weeknight. We ordered 1 Chicken Lo mein, 1 side of mixed veggies (cause the order taker said there were not many veggies in the Lo Mein - weird), 1 Large Chicken Fried rice, 1 pork dumpling, 2 egg rolls and 1 combo fried rice. This is a pretty standard order for us (except the extra veggie side cause its not needed at our normal Chinese place) and its right around $30 but I went into Tely's to pick up our order and the lady at the counter says *** $62.86 *** !!!!! The food was ok, not any better than any other place we've tried and Certainly Not Worth Double what we've paid at just about 5-7 other places we've been to in the Melbourne area. We will not be going back.More

We've gone here on 3 separate occasions at different times of day and evening. The owner greeted us at the door each time with both arms raised. "Any reservation?" he asks. No, we replied. Several EMPTY tables at EACH visit. "Sorry can't seat you" he...says. This restaurant is definitely not a 5 star restaurant that would require reservations. We ate there once and the food is just not that good. The owner is odd to turn away customers when they have EMPTY tables available. Enough said.More
