We came here for dinner because it was highly recommended by neighbors so maybe our experience isn't typical. We were awed by the relaxing setting at our outside table right on the docks with flocks of pelicans swimming by. I asked my waiter if there...were peppers on the house salad because I am highly allergic to them and he assured me there were not. However, when my grouper diner arrived, the vegetables were loaded with peppers. I finally flagged him down and told him and he said "Oh, I thought you only didn't want peppers on your salad." DUH! He returned my platter to the kitchen and ten minutes later returned with it with plain broccoli with the cold grouper and cold mashed potatoes. By this time my husband's mahi was also cold from the wait. Unfortunately, the mahi was not only cold but overcooked. My grouper was not only cold but tough and tasteless. You would think a restaurant on the docks would be good for seafood, right? Maybe this is a place to go for sandwiches and ribs because that is what our neighbors told us they had and you will have a better experience.More

We make the SpeakEasy our first stop when we hit Marco Island every winter. I have not tried them for dinner, but highly recommend them for lunch. I grew up outside Chicago and will say that there Italian Beef sandwich is about as good as...you can get in the Windy City. Service has always been timely and friendly.More

Our family had lunch here yesterday and we had a wonderful experience. We just wanted to have a quick lunch and were both surprised by the quality of the food and the excellent service. This was definitely one of the best and friendliest services we...have ever encountered at any place (thank you to Joe who is simply great). The location is also pretty cool- you can sit right by the water and it is very enjoyable. In other words, next time we will be back on Marco Island, we will be back to the Speakeasy.More

Hidden gem and on the water- but you wouldn’t realize it from the strip mall frontage. Walk through and back to the outside. Awesome little bar and table set up. Right on the water. Happy hour is ONLY drinks even though Marco Island app says...they have food happy hour specials (sadly they Don’t!). They need to fix that on the app as that’s why we came. Good looked great and some entertainment offeredMore

I ordered the “Chicago” style pizza. While it had good flavor and thicker than most pies, I would not call this a deep dish Chicago pizza. I would not order it again but I had to try it.

We’ve been here a bunch of times and love the ambiance and being near the water. We’ve always had excellent service and food. Last time we got the garlic knots, and the table talked about how they were the best we’ve ever had. The Monday...lobster special is so good and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend - and try to have a reservation.More

We visited this restaurant late on a rainy evening. There were not many people there and we were seated quickly. Our seat was near the dock but protected from the weather. The service and food were both good. I would not hesitate to go back.

First time at Marco Island SpeakEasy and we wanted to watch an ending of a playoff basketball game so we asked the very uninterested hostess if we could see the tables first before we were seated. I asked if we could get a table and...they were more interested in their phones then doing their job. Barely did either the 20 somethings cracked a smile and seemed genuinely annoyed that I would ask such a thing . Then we were told with a room full of empty tables that we had an hour to leave said table once we were sat. I know it's hard to get decent staff these days! Our waitress seemed overwhelmed that she even had tables to serve and once told about the rudeness of the hostesses smiled throughout the conversation! Food was good though nothing to wrote home about. We watched, we ate and we left. Not even worth writing about the food as the service left a really bad taste! Go elsewhere, be warned!More

We were in town for a bachelorette party, one where we were celebrating two brides. The Speakeasy was first on our list. We had reservations at 8pm because of our late incoming flight. The reason for this review was the service. Alex was our server,...and whether it wasn't taking orders from some of the girls, not listening to orders given, taking upwards of 20 minutes between drinks, or holding onto all of our cards for 20+ minutes/claiming he didn't know where some of them were, by the end we couldn't wait to get out of there—but it took us 2.5 hours to do so. The credit card fiasco happened after they were closed at 10PM and with only one other table in the restaurant, which doesn't make me (a fellow server) think Alex was overwhelmed. I finally found my credit card in the server book I initially gave to him after searching the entire restaurant—and it ended up right in front of him alongside 3 other books with my friends' cards. He initially told me I never gave it to him. I'm a server and despite being advised to tip him nothing, I couldn't do that. I gave him an average % tip and recommended he work on it to both him and his superiors, but I was seething. Alex said, "I'm sorry, it was a rough night." Which I understand and was/am empathetic toward. I said, "I get it, we all have them." As a customer however, I'm allowed to be upset. For the final nail in the coffin, as they were closing down and after they were searching for my card under the table, they made us move out from under the umbrellas that were shielding us from the rain—even though we wanted to leave way sooner than that. (Apparently Alex was in training, which isn't something that was disclosed to us until after he claimed I never gave him my credit card and couldn't find it) Aside from the rough night comment, no apology out of the restaurant and no offered comps. I don't need anything for free, and I would have turned it down if asked, but sometimes it's nice to be asked.More

We ate at the SpeakEasy last year and enjoyed it so much. Because of that, we chose to dine there again last week. That was a mistake. The food was fine, and the view of the water was spectacular. Our waitress, however, was not good....She was rude and offensive. We ordered an appetizer to begin our meal. She returned with an incorrect appetizer and blamed the mistake on our ordering. She took no accountability for her mistake. Her attitude was gross and made the dinner miserable. We decided to visit one more time that week after ensuring that waitress was not working, and the experience was better, but that first waitress will make us rethink future visits. Lots of other places to frequent in Marco Island that have pleasant waitresses.More

We ate here on a Monday evening for their twin lobster special. Two of us shared the meal, with a $10 upcharge but we each got to pick 2 side dishes. The food was great. We also had some of their rum punch - and...it packed a punch! It came in a cute little plastic bucket that a young child would certainly be happy to play with at the beach. Be sure to make reservations several days to a week ahead of time, especially if you want to request a table outside on the water.More
