We arrived after a traumatic parking lot experience. We were not about to pay $35 for a 2 hour lunch visit. We finally got the older self-pay municipal parking lot machine to accept our back-up credit card. Once we walked up the stairs and went inside Mad Beach Brewing our whole day changed! Friendly staff and nice cool dark atmosphere with fairy lights. We got the Drunken Monkey shrimp and blackened grouper tacos. Both excellent! We wished there would have been a few more shrimp on the app for the price but the sauce was out of this world! The presentation was delightful with a dipping wafer. Soooo good and different. Compliments to the chef! Lots of tech at this place. If you have kids they will love the games and ability to play music from phones and games right at the table. Brews—Madeira Vice and Crazy Comet IPA wonderful and refreshing. Had a taste of the yam beer but that’s more for cooler weather /Fall. Great way to start our couples weekend in St. Pete!

Awesome brewery with a fantastic kitchen. We love to order a handful of appetizers instead of entrees, it’s a fun way to try all the wonderful things that the have to offer. Our favorites are the drunken shrimp and the smoked fish dip. Dolphin drool pairs well with both of these. Great staff and a fun atmosphere. Parking in the John’s Pass vicinity is easy to find a spot. It’s also a nice drive from Clearwater Beach.

We were searching for what seemed to be a Covid safe place on Madeira Beach to enjoy some craft beer and get an early dinner. (We arrived at 3:00) and were promptly seated on their outdoor patio. Our wonderful hostess said it was a great time to come as lunch & dinners were still very busy. I ordered a flight of 6 craft beers & my wife a New England style IPA. Being a big fan of untapped all beers rated from a 3.25 to 4.00 on a scale of 5. Tasty, but nothing will completely blow you away. For dinner my wife order their special gumbo and I ordered the black beans and rice with a very nice blackened grouper fillet on top. In one taste we both knew we had made excellent choices. The quality of the dishes far exceeded expectations from a brewery in a beach town. Our dessert consisted of the last two stouts from my beer flight. The peanut butter stout was truth in advertising as the peanut butter was thick & overwhelmed the taste of the beer. The second was their donut stout which has a sweet coffee flavor to it & was our definite favorite. In all we really enjoyed our stop at this fun spot on Madeira Beach.

Thank you so much Greg! Our gumbo is pretty legit and had its recipe honed by a trip to NOLA to get some pointers. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review.

We stopped in on the day after Christmas. We were very pleased with whole experience. The beers were amazing. We split a flight of the following: Czech Yo Self (Czech Pilsner) excellent Pils, Dolphin Drool (American Pale Ale), Life's A Beach (American Wheat Beer), Levique Lager (American Light Lager), Imperial Peanut Butter Cup Stout (Imperial / Double) which came to life after it breathed for a few minutes , Marsha Marsha Marshmallow (Imperial / Double Stout) Interesting taste! Glade we tried it! We also ordered the nachos. We were so glad we did. The pork on them was excellent. The fresh peppers had just enough heat. The beer cheese sauce tied it all together! We would have ordered a second plate but we witnessed a kid eating their doughnut burger which made us full as he took his last bite! LOL It is a very fun place!

Visited 5/16/22. I am a huge hot dog fan so ordered the Footlong Chili Dog. It came to the table and it was a footlong dog in a regular size hot dog bun. Because of this, chili and cheese only covered the bun portion...saves them money, but customer leaves still hungry. Then had to pay $2 for tots on the side, which were standard tots with salt which anyone can do at home for the same price but get 5 times the amount of tots. My wife and I were planning to split the dog, which meant when we cut it in half, it was 2 bites because of the bun size. We asked for an extra plate and they brought us a paper dessert size plate. Needless to say we weren’t impressed with the place. The only thing redeeming was the beer: the Porto Coco was good. But $11 for a half-dog was ridiculous.

Jon, I'm sorry you weren't impressed by us. However, we do not intend any of our hand held's to be a satisfying meal for two people to split. That would be what two meals are intended to be. Indeed, we do not serve our Nathan's footlong hot dog on a footlong hot dog bun because those are far too flimsy to support the chili and beer cheese, instead we serve them on sturdy 8" Amoroso Philly Hoagie rolls. Finally, the $11 is for a full 12" Nathan's hot dog served on an authentic 8" Amoroso roll with 4oz by volume each of house made chili and beer cheese, not a half dog.
Cheers

Read the reviews and said let’s give it a shot. Wrong move. Overpriced for the amount of food. Two gator po boys, grouper tacos, jerk chicken sandwich, smugglers pie and black beans/rice were the dinners bought. Skimpy on the gator and heavy on the lettuce. Grouper tacos were also skimpy and heavy lettuce. No flavor for the grouper. Chicken sandwich was rubbery. Black beans and rice were cold and just put in the box. No lid container so the cardboard box was soaked time we got back to the room. Worst was the smugglers pie. Order the dinner but it was it was the size of a sampler.

I’m so sorry you found your take out experience undesirable. Our menu admittedly doesn’t translate well to take out or delivery which is why we do not work with UberEats or other such apps. Please give us another chance next time you are in the area to see why our dine-in experience garnered us those great reviews you read.

This place is just plain awesome… The beer, food, service were all outstanding, and MBCBC has a super cool vibe to it. They have a huge in-house brew tap menu, and the food menu is very eclectic with many options. The only drawback (which is not MBCBC’s fault) is you have to pay to park… It’s not a lot ($7-ish), but it’s a bit annoying that customers must pay to park to go eat. Nonetheless, the food and beer are top notch… This is a definite must try, when in the St. Pete Beach area 👍🏻👍🏻

We stopped in here for dinner labor day weekend, it was not too busy and we were sat within 5 minutes. They were out of shrimp and we decided to just have an appetizer and drinks then go to dinner elsewhere. Our server was good even though she was busy (I need to be better at remembering names!)
They have some older video games, cornhole and a fun vibe/decor.
A couple nights later we went back in and had dinner, my husband had the shrimp dish he had wanted before and really enjoyed it. I had a Buffalo chicken sandwich which was also good. Also the white sangria was tasty. Our server was great again and knowledgeable about the menu. The woman at the host stand was also super friendly both times. Fun place and we would go back!!

We came here after a trip to the beach and it was such a great choice. It was super relaxed, the drinks were great, and a couple appetizers satisfied us for the afternoon. I had been craving gator (even after going and visiting them down the street) and it was cooked perfectly, just the right amount of breading and taken out of the fryer before it got chewy. Also the Watermelon Sangria comes with a piece of candy, as if things couldn't get any better. Our service was a TAD slow otherwise I'd happily give this place a 5.

Stopped for lunch while at John's Pass. HUGE indoor and outdoor restaurant with an enormous amount of seating. Inside was totally empty and only a few tables were taken outside - they had just opened for the day for lunch. We had burgers which were made perfectly and super sweet and delish sweet tea. Great customer service - server took photos for us.

We were disappointed in our food. The Totchos were a layer of tots with a few things dumped on top, definitely not worth $11. My burger was lukewarm. Wedge salad served in a small bowl was impossible to eat unless dumped out on a plate. There are better restaurants in the area.

Seated quickly and server was attentive.
Food was served in plastic trays and you eat with plastic knives and forks!!
Despite this, food actually much better than it looked.
Not given the opportunity to review the bill. Server told us the total and then no paper bill provided as requested from the credit card machine. Maybe others will not be as trusting as us?!

Thank you for the visit and review! We are glad you enjoyed everything. I’m sorry about the confusion with the bill. We do use a tablet based system and the waitstaff should have offered either for you to view the bill or have a printed copy made.

We stopped in while out shopping John's Pass. We were told that they could put our name on a wait list because the kitchen was behind on orders by about 30 minutes. They took our name/number and would call us when they would be ready. We shopped a little longer and after about 30 minutes, we walked back to see how things were going. The girl that had taken our name said they could seat us and get drinks but the kitchen still needed about 30-45 minutes before they could take orders. We decided to stay and wait. I ordered a flight while waiting. The flight was decent. This place is family friendly with different games. I had perused the online menu prior to sitting down and when it was finally time to order, an appetizer that I had wanted to order had been removed. We then attempted to order the crab dip and the waitress informed us that they had run out. I also tried to order the Mahi Mahi sandwich and the waitress again informed me that they had run out. We ended up ordering the coconut shrimp appetiter and were disappointed when only 4 pieces were served. I should have asked before ordering how many pieces would come because I would have saved the $14 we spent on it. The food was ok, not spectacular. The beer cheese tots were very good. The staff were extremely friendly and apologetic about the situation. Overall experience was average but the environment was great and the staff were wonderful.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding Kimberly. We set a new store record this week and indeed struggled with keeping supplies in house ss well as prep. I went in on my day off yesterday to help catch up and we are back in action now! Please check us out again for our fresh Mahi and crab dip, both back in stock!

I was on a bike ride from Clearwater Beach and this area was my turnaround point. I had never been here and I knew nothing about this restaurant. I had three samples of their beer and all three were great. For lunch, I ordered the Black Beans and Rice. It was a good size helping and tasted great. You can't beat good food and good beer when you are on a 30 mile bike ride.

Went with friends on a Saturday night. The place was surprisingly quiet for a weekend at John's Pass. I had the jerk chicken with black beans and rice, it was ok, the rice is white and sticky which alot of people like, but I prefer yellow rice with black beans. The chicken was good, not too much jerk seasoning, just enough for a good flavor and the chicken itself was well cooked, nice and juicy.
I had their Amber Ale which reminded me of Newcastle Brown ale. I would like to go back and try their other beers, they offer a beer flight of six 5oz samples. A table next to us ordered two of these flights and the glasses looked like more than 5oz. Plenty of beer to go with a meal.
Our server was pleasant and attentive and our food came promptly and as ordered.
Be aware when ordering, burgers are a la carte.
Over all, we had a nice time and we'll probably go back.
