I decided to treat myself

I decided to treat myself to breakfast on vacation. I drove down to Long Boat Key to the Longbeach Cafe. Very friendly waitress and a decent breakfast. The food was very good. It wasn’t a breakfast item but their fries are delicious! They serve them with herbs which was very creative. My eggs were cooked perfect and the grits were cooked just like in a diner. They made a brewed ice tea that I thought was the best on the island. I liked the experience there. Not a fancy place but don’t let that frighten you. It is worth the visit!

Good breakfast; Check out their outdoor patio!

We're staying at a friend's place a few blocks away from this cafe, and decided to check it out for breakfast. Delicious omelets and great grits. My wife had a french omelet, and I had their greek omelet. We sat inside. Place was clean. We especially loved all the artwork and pictures on the walls, done by local artists and available for purchase. It wasn't until we finished eating that we discovered that they also have an outdoor patio with a half dozen tables available for outside eating. Next time, we'll try it out!

Lunch Where the Locals Dine

You know it has to be good food and reasonable prices since many locals as well as the local law enforcement Marine Patrol came in for lunch. Try their signature salads. Good, friendly service, great food and reasonable prices. Worth the trip.

Illusion of a terrace

It's a wonder this place gets so many stars. The only thing attractive about it is the terrace on the bayou, and when we showed up at 1:15 and asked to sit outside, we were told: "sorry, the terrace closed at one o'clock." No reason given. The food is just diner food, and the shopping center it sits in is the most forlorn place on the island.

Greasy smell

We did not enjoy the food or atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you are overwhelmed with the smell of grease. It is also very tiny and claustrophobic. My husband had an omelet and it was nothing special. I had oatmeal and I didn’t like it at all. I wouldn’t return.

Great Food & Friendly Service make along each Cafe a Solid 10!

A solid 10! Great food & friendly, fast service! I have lived here over 16 months and now kick myself that I missed out on this wonderful place. It may not look like much from the outside, but never judge a book by its cover. It’s a breakfast diner, with a simple menu, plenty of smiles will great you, and you will leave full! I will be returning many, many times for a repeat.

Cute spot, but below average.

Hmmm, the great reviews brought us to this cute spot. I think we would consider it an average diner at best. Service was good, but food was marginal. I just had a salad as vegetarian/vegan options were limited (which is ok, I’m used to this). Olive oil tasted spoiled, left a terrible aftertaste. My husband had the grouper fingers thinking this would be fresh fish since we are in FL. These seemed to be pre-made and possibly even a frozen packaged product. Also pricey for the portions and quality of the food. We are only visiting the area, but would not make this a stop on future visits.

Just good food

Not every restaurant has to be "uppity" or "trendy"....what is wrong with just plain great food? That's what you will find here! Our waitress was attentive (there were 7 in our group) and took good care of us. Our meals were all tasty and arrived quickly (that's saying something for a large group). It is tucked away in the back of the shopping center, but is well worth going to. Great food, great service at a reasonable price.....what's there NOT to like???

Longbeach Cafe --is a good cafe place on earth.. this will be good for visitors to dine inn. Restaurant is along the laje river. A nice landscape green grassy garden . So much live around the place...a great view. The foods for serving is a delicious food. Its great . Fast service and great staff with patience.... Vegetarian & vegan options as well in a family friendly environment ..an excelkent place .with a lakeview. Your dreams to visit....

Delicious Breakfast

We shared an omelet with bacon, mushrooms, onions and cheddar cheese. It was delicious. It came with very hot and crispy home fries which is just how I like them. The whole wheat toast was also very good. We are inside, but in the back they have a cute outdoor deck overlooking a canal.

New breakfast joint for us during our visit to Sarasota/Longboat Key

Fun, delicious first time breakfast visit at the cafe on 24 March. We arrived around 9 and were seated right away with good service. Food was good, but not exceptional. My wife had the french toast with a side of scrambled eggs and i had the eggs benedict. I added old bay hot sauce as the hollandaise was a little bland. Good drinks and great service.

Website was not updated with correct open and close hours so it lost this customer’s business!

We checked the website and it said the restaurant was open from 7-2 pm. When we arrived around 1:30, the restaurant was closed. I went to the door and the person inside was very nice. She said that it closes at 1:00 pm on Sundays. I said that the website does not say that it closes early on Sundays and she said she had been telling the owner to change that on website but evidently he had not done it. So I am doing what the owner should have done. Maybe a bad review will get the owner in gear to update his website! How stupid to lose customers because you can’t get hours right on your website!!!

Best Breakfast on LBK!!!

My hb and I get breakfast before church. Food is always amazing! Ladies are always very nice and happy to see you. We usually eat out on the patio so our pup can go with us. She always gets a scrambled egg!! Highly recommend for a good hot breakfast! A must when you visit LBK!

Land, Sea or Air (if you have a parachute) you need to go there!

Unassuming from the outside, pure delight inside. My wife and I took my 94 year old mother for breakfast. The place was clean, the staff friendly, access to th waterside patio easy for mom's walker and, best of all, the food terrific. My wife and I had the French Benedict which was the best egg dish I've ever had. Next time we'll come by boat; arriving via parachute is still up in the air.
