We sort of stumbled upon Chris' Taverna and were pleasantly surprised. Our meal was just delicious. Best Tzatziki and avgolemeno soup!

Chris' food is always delicious from the Greek salad, lemon soup, gyros, slouvaki, everything. One of my favorite go to restaurants.
This extremely popular restaurant in a strip mall on Jog Rd for many years had many people waiting on line for a table. Sunday 4pm were plenty of empty tables. Where are the snowbirds who usually patronize this restaurant in November? We started with Pikilia....4 different Greek appetizers we enjoy. Delicious as always. See photo . My husband had grilled pork chunks with lemon herb potatoes and eggplant dip as sides. Eggplant dip was great. The potatoes are well prepared just too salty. The pork chunks were a bit chewy and somewhat dry. The servings are huge. I had Greek octopus salad. A huge salad with tender grilled octopus arm, 1/2 inch thick sliced tomatoes, olives, feta, cucumber, greens, sliced onion rings and two spicy peppers Really good. Took half the salad home for the next day lunch. Mythos Greek beer is highly recommended. Service is as expected. In and out in 45 minutes. After 3-4 years patronizing this restaurant, we noticed some prices increased about 15-20% especially lamb dishes. Maybe that's the reason not many diners as earlier. The pork chunks as described brings rating down one star.More
I’m glad you like the food We still get very busy with excellent food ,good service ,clean restaurant ,and fair prices . We kept the quality of the food and we kept our long time workers . We are here to stay here for many...More
If you are looking for very casual and excellent fast service, this is your place. Other than Mediterranian Greek fare, you can get pasta, Italian dishes as well. Prices are very fair. House wine, beer and soft drinks are served. For a $9 corking fee,...you can bring your own. I had the whole Bronzino with a Greek Salad and lemon potatoes. I thought the fish was on the small side but delicious for $36. My husband had the lasagna which was a big portion for him. We had a baklava for dessert but only Greek coffee was offered. We would have enjoyed a cup of American decaf. Next time I will skip the very sweet dessert. The waiter was extremely nice and gave us a couple of lamb chops to try. We agreed with him that they were delicious and will probably order them the next time we ear here.More
Super busy place offering very good Greek food at reasonable prices. Huge outdoor dining area. They serve you pita & Tzatziki to start. We started with Kalamari, fried squid served with lemon and tomato sauce. Chewy and needed to fried more crispy. For mains, my...wife ordered the Εleni's Combo, included Mousaka, baked layers of ground beef, eggplant, potatoes, topped with béchamel sauce, Pastitsio, baked layers of ground beef & macaroni, topped with béchamel sauce, and Spanakopita, Phyllo dough stuffed with feta cheese and spinach. Huge portion. I tried the Shrimp Santorini, chargrilled shrimp, sautéed with tomatoes, onions, olives & feta, baked over rice and peas. very good. All entrees come with a house Greek Salad, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, olives, feta cheese, stuffed grape leave, pepperoncini & their Greek dressing. Great value.More
We love this place! Very good Greek food. It is at the top of our take-out list and it is always the number one choice when we have friends or family in town and want to order takeout (we have 2 toddlers and prefer to...eat at home). It's a great place to dine outdoors when it gets cooler out, but their indoor dining room is also spacious and beautiful. Recently renovated. Highly recommend!More
Amazing Authentic Greek food. Always busy and they don’t take reservations, but the food is always worth waiting for. Portions are huge. Warm pita and fresh homemade tzatziki comes to the table for starter. Chicken Pita is one of my favorites and the warm pita...is stuffed with char grilled marinated chicken. Greek salad is large enough for 2 and I ordered it wit Gyro which was piled high and so good. I’ve never been disappointed with this family run restaurant. Service is always good too.More
Three of us went here for breakfast It was very busy but we got our food in a reasonable amount of thime
My wife and I sat outside on a beautiful day: warm, partially cloudy. Busy place inside and outside for lunch. We shared a spinach pie, a Greek salad, a gyro, stuffed grape leaves, hummus with pita bread. Good good. My rating is actually a 4...1/2.More
This was our first time back since Covid started and we were not disappointed. We arrived early (4:30 on a Friday) together with family including our 5 year old grandson in order to get a good seat outside. Outdoor seating was expanded and we got...a table immediately. We were served warm pitas and tzatziki sauce after ordering and then a huge Greek salad with ripe tomatoes, olives, and a small dolmade (stuffed grape leaves). We were full even before getting our entrees of spanakopita, souvlaki plate and gyro plate, so ended up bringing food home. I tried ordering my usual Yuengling beer but they only have a limited choice available so I had a nice Greek beer instead. Staff was friendly and efficient. Prices are still very reasonable. Can't wait to return and try some of their more adventurous dishes such as octopus! It brought back great memories of our family trip to the Greek islands.More
We sat outside but the winds did not enable us to stay too long. The service was very good and the food even better. Lots to choose from and the portions were large and we ordered the gyro wrap and it was outstanding and the...fries were nice and crisp.More
Our group of 10 had an amazing meal. Starting with some of the best pita bread we've ever eaten, the hummus appetizer was outstanding. The main dishes - gyros and chicken were so good. Even the salad was great - very fresh! Great service, very...accommodating - Highly recommend!More
For 3 of us we ordered the mediterranean chicken we had Chris's combo we had pikilia for an appetizer and one side Greek salad. We had never been here before and were duly impressed with not only the service which was extraordinary but the food...was the most delicious Greek we have had anywhere in the state of Florida hands down. We finished the evening with Greek cappuccino's and baklava and another dessert which was like a lemon custard with a filo dough topping on it. So outstanding we wish we lived closer. This will be our new regular haunt every time we're down in this neck of the woods. Kudos to the Chris family for providing us such a wonderful experience.More
We enjoyed a great lunch special at Chris' Taverna that comprised Moussaka, Pastitsio, and the Chicken breast wrap. All came with very nice Greek salads to start, a beverage, and a generous portion of fries with the wrap. Prices were very reasonable for the quantity...of food and service was excellent. Will definitely go again when I am in the area.More
I recently came across Chris' Taverna online and decided to give it a try again as we must have forgotten about this place. They remodeled and now have an expanded patio with more outdoor seating. The menu is extensive and they offer the typical items...along with some different dishes too. I like the fact you can pick your sides with the entrees make it your way!! Portion sizes were plentiful. They start you off with some warm pita with tzatziki sauce. We tried their lentil soup along with the spanakopita and pork souvlaki plate. We had a couple of Greek salads plus I tried their eggplant dip - OPA It was tasty and good. They have a good team in place. The service was good and we will definitely be back for sure.More
