We had lunch starting with a shared dish of Pikilia which is four dips with tzatziki, mashed eggplant, hummus and skordalia. The tzatziki was excellent as well as the eggplant. The skordalia was boring. The pita bread was fresh and warm. My dish was shrimp Santorini which was good. My husband enjoyed his lamb shank. A huge shank was delicious, tender lamb and two sides. Before we could finish the Pikilia, the server delivered the entrees which were about 6-8 minutes after the appetizer was served. Too fast we thought. Those entrees were steaming hot though so we did not send them back to the kitchen. The servings were big and filling. Plenty to take home for later. See attached photos. The bill arrived and the restaurant's suggested tip includes the tax amount which is incorrect. So beware. We don't tip tax amounts to the state. Base your tip on the sub-total only. We were in and out about 45 minutes. Not the same hospitality as in Greece when you can enjoy 1 1/2- 2 hour lunches.

Having opened their expanded Lake Worth restaurant , Chris Taverna offers cheerful outdoor dining during COVID. Fans of Chris' lunch specials we tried this location for the first time . The cool breezes of February thinned the crowd but this location has steady business as witnessed several days visiting the area. WE returned in April and June as the weather warmed and the crowds made it hard to find a great table. We sought a gyro wrap special ( $11.95) which included fries or Greek salad side and a non alcoholic drink. . The other guest doesn't eat beef so they opted for the chicken gyro special . Chris's has a freshly brewed ice tea without preservative that is great for those sensitiv to sucralos, preservatives and such The servers are cheerful and hustle with hot food to your table. Our side Greek salad arrived first with a stuffed grape leaf, lots of lettuce, cucumber and tomato with a light dressing . we shared it with plenty for two diners. Then came the gyros. The Lamb beef gyro was filled with lots of meat with fresh lettuce, tomato and pstaziki sauce through out. The hot large fries spilled off the plate. the chicken gyro did not bulge as much as the beef lamb but pleased the other guest The servers were polite about us lingering despite waiting clients. But thy did offer a travel cup for our drinks. Definetly a delightful interlude that reminded us of days in Athens siting in the sun under an umbrella enjoying a fresh salad and gyro..... but in Lake Worth

We have been getting our Greek On at Chris' Taverna for many years. Recently the dining area has been expanded. This allows more folks to eat in but it hasn't adversely effected the food or the service. The wait staff is still friendly and cheerful. More to the point, the food is still fantastic! It is worth the price and the wait. Since we live nearby we usually do take out and the food holds up. Our family ranges in age from 8 to 80 and we all love the food. Try it, you won't be sorry.

Back from New York, we stopped here after leaving Pal Beach Airport. Delightful to sit outdoors in good weather and enjoy a bottle of reasonably priced wine and whole grilled fish. Life could not get any better. Always friendly and comfortable spot for dinner.

We've eaten here for years and the quality is always consistent. Haven't ordered anything we didn't thoroughly enjoy. Their Tzaziki sauce is thick and aromatic, the meats are fresh and juicy, Avgolemono soup lemony, delicious, and full of generous chunks of white chicken meat, the Gyro wraps are generous, filled with fresh vegetables and excellent Gyro meat, and the Moussaka is mouthwatering. Service is always friendly and efficient. We've also eaten several times ta the Hypoluxo Road location and the experience is the same. SOOOO Good!

Three of us went here on a Tuesday night. It was very busy as it was prime dinner time. They have outdoor seating but the wait was 40 minutes so we opted for indoor seating which was available. We were seated promptly and our orders taken very quickly. We ordered Fried Kalamari as an appetizer. It was very good, but not as crispy as I'm accustomed to. Our dinners (Gyro Platters) were delicious and very large portions. I had plenty left over to take home. The prices are a little high, but I suppose they're worth it considering the service and the large portions. I only go here once a year when I'm in the vicinity for a few weeks. It was worth the wait. Hopefully I'll be back next year.

I love Chris Taverna, my wife not so much, my friends divided. The food is good the salads nice, located in the suburban shopping mall next to a VERY nice take out soup place (go there before or after for soup the next day). With the covid the line runs out the door and your can meet friends like your local deli. Outside is limited but the service has been the same - like your local deli "take it or leave it attitude". They give a nice hummus plate and bread as you sit down and have plenty of items on the menu. Tends to be on the higher side but then again how many greek places are there on BB blvd? I'm a fan but barely, they just need to step it up a notch but never will, so live with what good food they provide.

This extremely popular restaurant in a strip mall on Jog Rd for many years had many people waiting on line for a table. Sunday 4pm were plenty of empty tables. Where are the snowbirds who usually patronize this restaurant in November? We started with Pikilia. 4 different Greek appetizers we enjoy. Delicious as always. See photo . My husband had grilled pork chunks with lemon herb potatoes and eggplant dip as sides. Eggplant dip was great. The potatoes are well prepared just too salty. The pork chunks were a bit chewy and somewhat dry. The servings are huge. I had Greek octopus salad. A huge salad with tender grilled octopus arm, 1/2 inch thick sliced tomatoes, olives, feta, cucumber, greens, sliced onion rings and two spicy peppers Really good. Took half the salad home for the next day lunch. Mythos Greek beer is highly recommended. Service is as expected. In and out in 45 minutes. After 3-4 years patronizing this restaurant, we noticed some prices increased about 15-20% especially lamb dishes. Maybe that's the reason not many diners as earlier. The pork chunks as described brings rating down one star.

Here you will find the freshest ingredients used in traditional Greek dishes..They start you off with with Tzatziki and warm pita Our favorites include Saganaki and Octopus salad. All the Entrees are good and if you can't make up your mind they offer the Grecian Platter. You won't leave hungry!

Historically, my biggest complaint about this place over the years has been the lack of consistency. I’ve gone through good times and bad times with them. This time was a total disaster. The tomatoes were rotten, the food was not fresh the ground beef was swimming in a pool of oil. I wish this place was consistent. When Chris was there daily (For dinner service) it didn’t seem to have these problems. Every time I go there now, he’s not there. Consistency matters. The reusable menus are also a turn off. It will be awhile before we go back again.

This was our first time back since Covid started and we were not disappointed. We arrived early (4:30 on a Friday) together with family including our 5 year old grandson in order to get a good seat outside. Outdoor seating was expanded and we got a table immediately. We were served warm pitas and tzatziki sauce after ordering and then a huge Greek salad with ripe tomatoes, olives, and a small dolmade (stuffed grape leaves). We were full even before getting our entrees of spanakopita, souvlaki plate and gyro plate, so ended up bringing food home. I tried ordering my usual Yuengling beer but they only have a limited choice available so I had a nice Greek beer instead. Staff was friendly and efficient. Prices are still very reasonable. Can't wait to return and try some of their more adventurous dishes such as octopus! It brought back great memories of our family trip to the Greek islands.

Everything on the menu, is absolutely Delicious all the time, been eating and taking out their food for over 10 years. Service very friendly and very good, nice atmosphere the only thing I would wish for is more space in the inside dining room, but this is no reason to miss Great Food Chris' Taverna. My wife and I spent two weeks in Greece last summer and they match and beat everything we ate for two weeks. Don't have yourself or family miss The Great Greek Food, they serve. Sincerely, Richard Basile

For 3 of us we ordered the mediterranean chicken we had Chris's combo we had pikilia for an appetizer and one side Greek salad. We had never been here before and were duly impressed with not only the service which was extraordinary but the food was the most delicious Greek we have had anywhere in the state of Florida hands down. We finished the evening with Greek cappuccino's and baklava and another dessert which was like a lemon custard with a filo dough topping on it. So outstanding we wish we lived closer. This will be our new regular haunt every time we're down in this neck of the woods. Kudos to the Chris family for providing us such a wonderful experience.

Every now and then I like to reminisce and go down memory lane and there’s no better place to do that then at Chris’s Taverna. Even through COVID times simply their quality and like able customer service is one of a kind. I went by Saturday night and had the Branzini grilled fish with white wine and omg, just so delicious, exactly what I needed to wine down. Thank you for being the best local spot ever. I know I can always count on you.

Well I don’t even know where to begin! This is by far the most fantastic Greek restaurant I have ever been to. I’ve traveled a lot and now we live in sunny South Florida and for the last almost 20 years we’ve been enjoying Chris’s Taverna. Whenever I complain to my husband that I miss the change of seasons all he has to do is get Chris Taverna for me and I am happy and it’s bought him at least another two months! LOL. Everything is absolutely delicious there’s not a thing I’ve had from Chris’s that is to be missed. You have to go again and again and again and try everything. It’s about as close to perfection For food and service as you’re going to get anywhere in this country. Don’t miss this restaurant!
