Though we live about 45 minutes away, we’ve found L’incontro worth the drive. Small, intimate and easily missed along busy Hwy 60, this Italian restaurant is a hidden gem. The ambience is refined, the service friendly and attentive and the food delicious. One has the sense that their recipes have been handed down through a family devoted to loving preparation and service. The menu and wine list are expansive and prices are reasonable. We always return and are never disappointed.

Celebrated our 34th anniversary on 1st time visit on recommendation of an Italian friend. Superb meal & service. Had a delightful Bruschetta appetizer, 2 house salads, the wife had Shrimp Scampi and I had Veal Parmesan both of which came with fresh house made pasta. We ordered Tiramisu and were given a complimentary Cannoli too. With 3 glasses of wine, tax and 20% tip, the bill was $95.25 and worth every penny. We will return most definitely.

So so good. Filet was perfectly tender, snapper was really tasty and everyone else seemed happy with their salmon and sea bass. Shrimp cocktail was well proportioned and bruschetta was a big hit. Finished off with creme brûlée!

We’ve dined here for a few years and the food is fairly good, but the attitude of management and servers leaves a lot to be desired. We walked into an almost empty restaurant at 4:00 last week and the young man who seated us asked if we had a reservation. When I replied “no, do we need one for 4:00?”, he responded that they expect their diners to do so. “Even for an empty restaurant?”, I asked. He basically scolded us for not having one. When we left it was still 95% empty. When bread was brought to the table, instead of the usual marinara dipping sauce, he brought some very unappetizing-looking hummus or some such thing. We asked if we could have a small plate of marinara sauce for the bread instead and were told “no”. Now hard would it have been to provide that? The service was so unaccommodating, and not with a smile that we’ve decided not to return. We just didn’t feel welcome and the food is not good enough to justify overlooking that.

Went there as recommendation from another person. Amazing little place with great food and staff. Only negative is they didn't let us know how much extra the items we requested to be added would cost, so we had six dollars of extra cost. Great food!!!!!!

We were meeting another couple for lunch. This was our first time and their second time here. Everything tasted home cooked and plentiful. Between us, we ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the Chicken Piccata, and two orders of the Grilled Salmon. The Chicken and Salmon came with your choice of mixed veggies or pasta. All dishes came with a salad, which had the most amazing dressing. It was light and extremely flavorful. For drinks, we had a soda, a lemonade, an unsweetened tea, and a water. We all agreed the food was amazing and would return. The amount of our check was $64.73, which included the tax.

Allow me to say...OMG...eating at this restaurant is a must for those who love great food. My husband said his shrimp and crab ravioli might have been the best food he has ever eaten, and we have eaten in quite a few cities in Italy. The servings were plentiful, the service was spot on, and the prices were lower than what you’d expect for the high quality of food. I wish we were staying in the area longer so we could enjoy another meal at L’incontro (The Meeting). You will not be disappointed.

Five of us gathered for a Christmas Eve dinner. Restaurant has plenty of parking and there’s even a couple of tables outside on the porch but the traffic might be a little noisy to eat out there. Inside they have a nice full bar and the tables are nicely spaced all around which gives you some comfort in these times of Covid. We had already stopped at one of our friends homes to have a little pre-dinner celebration so we sort of skipped the appetizers and went directly to the main meals. Cocktails were red and white wines with a nice selection of both and I had my normal G&T. Three of us had the veal piccata, one had ravioli smothered in shrimp, crab and lobster, and I had the Ossobuco. Everyone said how delicious their meals were, the veal was on a bed of thin spaghetti and my Ossobuco was on a bed of linguini. The meat just fell of the bone, the way I like it. Our server was very attentive and met all our needs during the meal! This is a very nice, cozy restaurant for small groups or romantic couples. The atmosphere is hushed so it was easy to have a pleasant conversation when we weren’t enjoying each mouthful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We went because we heard the food was delicious and it was. But you had to wait over a hour to get it. We didn't order salads or appetizers so we thought the food would be served quicker. As other guests arrived and ordered they received their salads and appetizers well before we received our food. The food was delicious is the only good thing I can say about this restaurant. And make a reservation beforehand.

Looking on trip advisors for Italian food and this showed up with great reviews and nice looking food. Plus being so close to our home we had to try it out. We made reservations and when we arrived we where greeted and the staff and manger where very nice and hospitable. When our food arrived it was an explosion of flavors and freshness of the ingredients and the preparation was executed perfectly. Save room for the deserts. This has become a staple for us as we can’t wait to take our friends.

We went to Lincontro last night with another couple. Sorry no pictures. When we enter we found a nice small place. We did have to wait for the hostess a few minutes - this might be a function of being a small place with a small staff. We then were seated and our waiter Dave greeted us shortly. They have a great Italian menu - all the white table cloth items you expect to see from Veal and chicken dishes to seafood specialties to baked pastas. We started with Fried Calamari and Mozzarella Caprese - both are very good, very fresh on the tomato and mozzarella and a nice fry on the calamari. I started with a wonderful mushroom soap which featured carmalized onions and fresh mushroom in a nice light cream base. I then had the Veal Sorrentino which came over pasta with a great sauce. We ended with a wonderful cannoli. Food was very good, service was nice. We will be back.

I was interested in reading the review from a diner that said he had been disappointed by L'Incontro, because that has been our experience as well. We have found service is no longer engaged and enthusiastic, the way it used to be. Rather - the last time we were there, it was like the staff was just waiting to finish their shift and get home. Our pasta was also overcooked and sauce did not have the same fresh taste that we were used to. But I cannot end without mentioning the reviewer's taking exception to "regulars" that were seated first ... because of our recent experience. We consider ourselves semi-regulars at Arabella's (we usually eat there about 3 times a month, year round). When we were there a few weeks ago, there were three parties all with reservations for 7. We were the third party in line but the maitre d' recognized us and said to us "your table will be ready in a minute". I told him that we would wait and for him to seat the parties who arrived before us. My husband was very annoyed at me, but the maitre d' gave us a very grateful nod. So, in my opinion, the "regulars" at L'Incontro were rude to have taken a table that rightfully belonged to another party. Unfortunately, rude seems to be a way of life these days.

Took some friends with us, it was our first time there, Friends second time, reserved a table at 5:45 pm through Open table app. arrived 15 minutes early, but they seated us right away. We were given menus right away, but it took a while to get water and longer to get drinks ordered. Seemed like there was only one waitress "Ericka" working which was okay but seemed like she was running ragged. We finely received our drinks and put in our dinner order. a bit longer and another person brought bread basket, after bread was almost gone our friend asked waitress about our salads and soups, the waitress said she just put our order for them in, So bread was gone and no soup or salads. again seemed like waitress was running ragged. Then we asked the host for more drinks and again another 20 minutes until my wife got up from table and went to waitress and let her know we would like more drinks. I have been to many Italian restaurants and drinks were always free flowing, that's where the restaurant makes their money. after a while longer the drinks arrived, and eventually we were served our meal. Meals were hot, and absolutely delicious, No complaints with food. while we were waiting on our meals we noticed that their take out service was non stop, box after box of food was brought to the front of the restaurant and people were coming in for pick up. its very detracting to watch orders nonstop going out the front door. maybe they should have a side door for takeout service. I feel that it was unfair to the waitress as well as patrons, having only one waitress for the entire place. they had a host, busser, and I am assuming it was the owners wife who came around and asked how the food was at the end. Would I go back? Yes, Food was top notch Italian, We had 3 of their specials, 2 Risotto with Steak, 1 Stuffed Pork chop, and 1 Baked Manicotti. The pork chop was the best chop, I had ever tasted. Price was with tip, $174.00 for 4 of us. so for a wonderful meal, less a few issues with service which were not the waitress fault I would return. Location and parking were also no problem.

Enjoyed takeout from L'incontro and it was delicious. We ordered one staple menu item - lasagna - and it was delicious. Savory sauce with lots of cheese and perfectly cooked pasta. The other item we ordered was the seafood ravioli featuring generous amounts of shrimp, crab, scallops and fresh vegetables in a tasty sauce. The salad was a nice mix of lettuce and vegetables. The bread was nicely toasted and seasoned. If you are in the vicinity of Lake Wales, the restaurant is easy to find, right along Route 60. If you aren't in the vicinity, the food is worth the drive!
