In short, the bartender outside berated me and practically picked a fight with me when I was attempting to order food and drinks. Rude as soon as we sat down, seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Then she walks away, lights up...a cigarette at end of bar and glares at me. We chose to stay - despite the bartender's attitude and the glares or she would ignore our requests for another drink. When I got my check, I did leave a tip. It was not as generous as I usually give, but I did leave one. My husband wanted to walk out as soon as she bartender started getting nasty. She was rude, discriminating, don’t sit outside at the bar unless you want to be treated this way. Terrible to say the least!!! Service was terrible. Food just average. So overrated!!!! They leave garbage bags piled up at entrance to walk in to outside sitting area. Nasty!!More

This place could be a hidden gem. Thought being under new ownership things would change but no. Same bartenders same poor attitudes when busy. I don’t mind a wait I just have no tolerance for rudeness. Both the woman outside and the one inside i’d...fire.More

Yup -- it's a "shak" in a mobile-home park, complete with alligators on the docks. The atmosphere is out-door fun, and the local music is most excellent. The hush puppies are excellent and the "gooper" [sic] sandwich is tasty. The service is friendly and welcoming....A short hop from Winter Haven and Lake Wales, it's worth the drive.More

We've loved eating at the Cherry Pocket & brought friends here for years. However, our meal today was sub standard. My normally great grouper sandwiche's bun was way bigger than the piece of fish in it. In fact, I think the tomatoes & lettuce were...also bigger. The French fries weren't good like they used to be either. Our waitress was friendly & helpful. The carrot cake was yummy, but the rest of the food was mediocre.More

Our Florida friends suggested this place when we visited them in Lake Alfred. It was a short drive from their home over some winding roads. We loved the casual " shak "atmosphere on the water. We were there on a Wednesday evening in February. We...waited just a bit for an outdoor seat . Michelle was our waitress and was awesome. She kept us entertained by her warm personality. My girlfriend and I had the grouper dinner and it was delicious. My husband had the blackened shrimp and it was great. There was live entertainment which contributed to the beautiful 81 degree evening . We definitely will go back.More

Had heard about this restaurant a few weeks ago. So I took my 90-year-old father and mom out for dinner. Dad uses a motorized wheelchair. The restaurant is ADA accessible but it is very tight confines in the small space. Had a great time. Had...gator bites for an appetizer. Salads came out their own signature Cherry dressing. Deliciously unique! Fried grouper/FF for one person. Two had garlic scallops and dirty rice. Had a side of hush puppies. Everything was absolutely delicious! I look forward to returning with my husband. Key Lime meringue pie for 3 to share!More

We went at the recommendation of a friend. What a surprise when we drove up and found a true ‘shack’ as the restaurant. We sat on the open air patio and had grooper bites for our starter. They were great so we were looking forward...to our meal. I ordered beer battered shrimp and my husband ordered a grooper sandwich. The shrimp was soggy with grease and the sandwich was tasteless. So disappointed! Won’t be returning to this hole in the wall in the middle of no where! Gave it 3 stars for the appetizer only.More

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant because we like the food and they have outdoor seating. Never again. We had been waiting a while to be served. Finally, my husband went and asked when we would be served. When they waitress...finally showed up some people had just arrived and she seated them and proceeded to take their order even though we had been waiting a while to get service. Their idea of making things right was for us to stay and they would serve the people that arrived after us first. They just lost us as a customer. We will never be back.More

We came up for some oysters and they were fresh and delicious. Madison rocks!! She shucked her butt off. For a rookie, that Girl has talent. Kudos to her and your staff for making our Sunday a Funday

We live in Sebring and this is a restaurant we would visit more often, if it wern't so far away, We manage to make the trip 3 or 4 times each year because the food is very good. My wife loves their fried oysters ($13.99)...and I always get their Cracker platter Gator, catfish, & grouper plus mushrooms, onion rings, and zucchini breaded and deep fried served with Hazel sauce ($12.95.) The Oysters were supposed to be served with cocktail sauce but she requested and was served the Hazel sauce as well. We also each ordered the house salad with their unique cherry dressing ($7.99). The Hazel and cherry sauces are the things that really set this food apart. The term Cracker has come under attack because people do not understand it. It refers to Florida cowboys, most of whom were Black, Hispanic, or Native Americans, because prior to air conditioning Central and South Florida were considered uninhabitable by White people. The term has the same meaning as Cracker Jack Sailor -- someone who is very good at their job.More

I'm sure there is. In the two interior areas, there is no smoking. I've eaten on the patio and have seen no one smoking there.
