Three co-workers and I came to Amura today for lunch, right around noon (Wednesday). Service was warm, friendly, and efficient. Considering we ordered six different rolls, and two unique meals, all food came out within about ten minutes. We were well attended to throughout our lunch. Meals were fresh and tasty. Will come back for sure!

I visit Amura about once every few weeks. Typical above average Japanese restaurant. What’s unique about it is that most restaurants fill an entire hibachi table before starting service. At Amura they do that even for two people which makes it very convenient for people who visit it alone or small group.

My wife had eaten here on other trips to Lake Mary but it was a first for my son ani. The sushi and soups were excellent. My son has several dietary restrictions and the waiter and chef gave us helpful explanations and made his order exactly to his liking. Highly recommend this place.

The sushi was absolutely delicious. The service was awful. Our server delivered our food and then disappeared. I had to ask another server for a togo box. I then had to ask another server to find our waitress and tell her we need her check, which we never got. After 25 minutes, I asked for the manager.
Our waitress then finally returned to our table and said “ I heard you asked for a manager, I need to tell them why”. I explained the issue. The waitress then came back and said “ I can take a sushi roll off your bill “. The manager never came to our table. I was not looking for a discount, I wanted to discuss the issue with the manager.
I thought it was very unprofessional for the manager to know a table wanted to talk to him / her, and not visit the table.

Hostess seated my husband and I at a table next to the bar. Many available tables, as this was before 6pm and they don’t take reservations, so we did not sit and asked her if we could sit on other side which had many tables. She rolled her eyes and said ok but you need to bring your menus. When she brought us to the table she said next time you need to say something before I bring you to your table. Ladies at the other table were in same shock as I was. Wow! Pretty embarrassing. I need to learn how to behave in an establishment that I am paying for their service? We live in the area and have many friends and family that eat hear and are all shocked! Many other options where you will get treated properly. Food and drinks were good and we had a nice waiter.

I've been to Amura countless times and have generally had very good experiences there. I had a business lunch there recently during which we enjoyed some very good sushi and very nice service. My beef is with the fact that the restaurant added on a 20% "Automatic Gratuity", and of course had a space for an additional tip, with also the typical "recommended gratuity" (15, 25 and 25%) at the bottom of the receipt, (the dollars shown were on top of the total bill, including the 20% "Automatic Gratuity"). Not paying attention to the details of the bill, (I was in a deep business conversation), seeing the recommended tip amount, and the fact that we were only a party of 5, I threw on a $52 tip on top of the $41 already tacked on. (The waitress also didn't inform that an automatic gratuity was included.) I tried twice to talk with someone at the restaurant, (left two voice mails that weren't returned), and sent two messages on their website, and again no response. Because of all of this, (mostly because of a lack of response), I'm sorry to say that I will never again initiate a lunch or dinner at Amura.

My son and I went for sushi tonight ... and it was TERRIBLE!! We ordered the sashimi platter and a number of rolls - the California roll with real crab was really off and had a terrible aftertaste. And a number of the sashimi offerings were dry and rubbery - it was so wrong! We eat a ton of sushi and always order sashimi and rolls with real crab (because I'm allergic to wheat and the artificial crab has wheat in it) and Amura was, hands down, the worst sushi we've ever had...by a LOOOOONG shot. The worst!!! I'm giving them two stars because the server did her best and replaced a roll for me when it came it artificial crab. But when we were about to leave I let her know that the California roll with real crab seemed very off, like the crab was bad, and she tried to blow it off and say that's just how real crab tastes. (Which isn't true and was weird customer service, since I wasn't asking for a refund, just wanted the kitchen to know.)
Maybe the steak or ramen is good but I would steer very clear of the sushi at this place. I'm praying we don't get sick tonight.

worst sushi I've ever tried - can't say "eaten" because I left 90% of it and went to Publix for take-away. The sushi rice was over-cooked and mealy and tasted as if they added sugar and not just mirin. VERY sweet. The roll (about diameter of a quarter) tasted metallic and off. Sushi comes with a pile of chiffonaded lettuce. The soy came out ice cold from the fridge. I've honestly had better from Publix and Stop & Shop. It's a no go.

We had dinner here and the sushi is great. There are other items on the menu if you do not like sushi. Our server was fast and made recommendations. We did not have to wait for a table and when seated our meals when ordered were delivered quickly.. We were a table of (10) ten and we were greatly accommodated . The restaurant is in a good location and close to great hotels in the area. It is directly across the street from the Westin, Lake Mary Orlando North. They even have a menu for toddlers. I greatly recommend this restaurant

My debit card was charged twice during dinner service tonight. I was charged $91 twice. Supposedly the system went down while our server had my card. I called back to resteraunt and asked for manager. Kacey came to phone, said this could not happen, they have safe guards in place. She was rude and loud about the situation and blaming the bank. She instructed me to call my bank instead of going back and checking on their side. I am not sure how being double charged is my fault and did not deserve to be spoke to the way she did for something that was Amura's error.

Be aware of your Happy Hour Specials. 4 pm really means 3:45 pm. I called repeatedly before someone would pick up the phone. Once I did it was 3:55 pm. They then refused to honor their prices. Super disappointed is an understatement. I have been a long, long time customer but never again. Very rude customer service with NO intention to fix a mistake on their part. Unprofessional management. NO wonder the other locations went under.

Hi, we are sorry to hear you had a bad experience at another restaurant. However, we are quite sure you have written this review on the wrong restaurants page. We do not open until 5:00 pm for dinner service at Amura Lake Mary / Heathrow and we have not offered any Specials since March of 2020 due to Covid-19. All specials were even removed from our website www.amura.com. However, if you would like to have a great dinning experience, we would love for you to come and visit us!

The food was decent but the ladies bathroom was deplorable… stunk horribly, my daughter and I were gagging. To have to come back to the table and attempt to eat our food that was delivered, ick! There was a partition up in the bathroom as if they were trying to hide a clogged toilet or something… it was really gross and I won’t be going back because if that’s how they keep their bathroom, how do they keep their kitchen??

Am sorry. This was my favorite place for sushi hands down. Tonight was horrible. The sushi is totally off. The fried rice was flavorless. Server was fabulous which is reason for two stars. The place was unusually empty. Perhaps management should take a look at the last few months reviews and make some adjustments. Sad. Very sad.

Ok food. Clear soup had too much ginger. Edamame was too salty, garlicky, and greasy. But why are the floors so slippery?
